davieG Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Hope so. When he played on the left of the central defence we actually looked quite capable. Unfortunately when Morrison came on we looked a little bit gash again. I'd like to see: - Weale Nielson (never thought i'd say that!!) Hobbs Moreno Berner Oakley King Wellens Gallagher Fryatt DJ That was more down to Hobbs than Morrison though, maybe Moreno and Morrison should be the option.
Joe. Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I'm a little worried for this, not going to lie. Weale Neilson --- Hobbs/Morrison/Vitor/Moreno (I really can't decide and I don't know how fit Vitor or Moreno will be) --- Berner Dyer --- WELLENS --- King --- N'Guessan Howard --- Campbell

yag101 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Campbell is not a winger. Just a starting position... play him in a Henry-esque role. He was there against Crystal Palace after Howard and Wellens came on. Berner can provide some of the width on the left in my system.
maccfox Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Well dont think it will be this side but it should be ---------------------------------------------------Weale--------------------------------------------- Neilson-------------------Hobbs-----------------------------Morrison-----------------Berner -------------------------------------------------Moreno if fit if not oakley--------------------------------------------- ________King__________________Wellens______________Dyer______ ____________Howard________________campbell___________________________ Subs Vitor on around 60 mins Fryatt again 60 mins when SH tires Seems Harsh to drop Matty after 2 goals but i want to see if Campbell A) can do it when it matters and B) wants to do it. Nearly played Vitor instead of Morro but we still have the problem of Hobbs playing left centre half and he is struggling with that. Think Moreno as a Defensive midfielder could help our shaky back line
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I'd like to see Leicester play 4-2-3-1, which Germany and Brazil played at the World Cup. Not sure if it would suit DJ though. Here goes, trial and error; ---------------------Weale--------------------- Nielson -- Hobbs -- Morrison -- Berner -------------Wellens -- King ----------------- ----- Gallagher -- Campbell -- Dyer ----- ---------------------Howard-------------------- Wellens and King drop back when needed. Campbell plays off of Howard. Howard does what he does best and holds it up for the following 3 players.
marbelladave Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Fitness and injuries look like being the big issue, at this stage I have no idea who is fit and ready to start... A few days ago I posted what ithought would be my ideal starting line up, Weale Lamey--Hobbs--Vitor--Berner King--MorenoDyer--Gallagher--Campbell Fryatt But after 2 games all sorts of issues are cropping up. Sousa seems determined to play 4-4-2, I hope he can make it work, and we seem to be having a fair few injury issues, problems or is this the usual early season wear and tear? We all assumed Neilson would not get a game but his early season form is excellent, will Lamey get a game? What about Moreno, will he play midfield as I expected or form a new defensive pairing with Vitor. If we get a new keeper as well, we will have virtually a new defence! Oakley seems in favour again, will that last? Can Fryatt and DJ play together or do we still need Howard? God knows, but it looks like it is going to be fun finding out...
lcfcbradyboy Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 GK) Weale RB) Neilson (could be lamey because he can play now) CB) Morrison CB) Hobbs LB) Berner CDM) Moreno (if fit if not oakley ) CM) King CM) Wellens CF) Campbell CF) Gallagher ST) Howard Sub1: Logan Sub2: Kennedy Sub3: Vitor Sub4: Oakley Sub5: Dyer Sub6: N'guessan Sub7 :Fryatt
Callabinho Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Ok iv'e thought there is only one way we can beat the Boro without conceding stupid goals, here's my idea! Edwin Van Der Neilson Roberto Neilson Carlos Neilson Fabbio Neilson Robbie Neilson Edgar Neilson Mesut Neilson Christiano Neilson Alexis Neilson Ruud Van Neilson David Neilson

I'd go with that other than i would play wellens in the advanced role as he seemed to thrive on that last night.
Dylan Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Weale Neilson Hobbs Moreno/Morrison Berner Gallagher Wellens (however PS will play Oakley instead) King Dyer DJ Campbell Fryatt Subs: Logan, Kennedy, Oakley, Nguessan, Howard, Morrison, Crncic. Going to be hard choosing 2 strikers out of Howard, Fryatt, and DJ as they've all being playing well. I would leave Howard on bench and use him as an impact sub. Alternatively, we could play 4-3-3 with King, Oakley and Wellens central, with 3 strikers, but would probly be unwise against Boro.
RowlattsFox Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I'm struggling to pick a team to be honest, so many different decisions to make for a variety of reasons but i'd go for. Weale Neilson Hobbs Moreno Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer Fryatt Campbell Subs: Logan, Lamay, Morrison, Vitor, Gallagher, Howard, N'Guessan Bit harsh on howard I know, but he can have an impact as a sub where I don't think Fryatt nor Campbell do. Neilson doesn't deserve to be dropped but I'm sure eventually he will. Hobbs has to play on right side, hopefully Moreno can do a job on the left.
Mr Happy Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Weale or Logan to start? Moreno in midfield or defense? Do we drop Fryatt after he scored two goals and go with Howard/DJ up front? Can we make the 4-4-2 work? How long will this Neilson love in last? The game against Macclesfield seems to have raised more questions than answers imo.

martyn Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Weale Neilson Hobbs Moreno Berner Dyer King Wellens Gallagher Fryatt DJ Subs: Logan, Kennedy, Morrison, N'Guessan, Howard, Oakley, Adams As long as Wellens plays instead of Oakley, I'm happy.
OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Ahhhh the old 4-5-2. Texbook formation, I adore you're thinking. Haha, I mistcounted. On this basis, I would probably play one up front, allowing Gallagher to play the linking role from Midfield and up front
Richard Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Weale Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Moreno Wellens King Gallagher Howard Campbell Can switch to 451 with Gally and DJ moving out wide if needed. Can we leave Matty out after his brace though?

This DJ love does my head in, Fryatt is our best goalscorer, Howard at the end of last season and so far this season has been immense, they have to start until one of them is injured, If DJ doesnt like it he can leave, in my eyes theres no place for someone thats consistently slagged us off for the last two years until he earns it,

Absolute rubbish. You've got no idea. Maybe he had a 4-3-1-2 in mind, or perhaps a narrow diamond, seeing as Moreno was included.
