Superpants82 Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Skysports.com understands that Portsmouth and Leicester are leading the chase to sign West Ham forward Frank Nouble on a season-long loan. Swansea also thought to be interested after the teenager impressed at the recent European Under 19 Championship. Nouble, who spent loan spells at West Brom and Swindon last term, has featured for the Hammers 10 times - including three starts in the Premier League in the 2009/10 season. But recently-appointed Iron manager Avram Grant looks set to let the imposingly-built 18-year-old leave Upton Park to gain some more experience with six other strikers at his disposal.

MattyFromLE Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Good that Sousa is looking at youngsters - would be nice to get him and a well established goal scorer in
Ashley Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Would be a decent signing, then again I thought Sousa wasn't going to develop other clubs talents for them?
Callabinho Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 We need something desperately! he maybe a good signing! id still like to see a creative midfielder coming in though!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 He would be a good signing, played great at the under 19s Euros. Sign him, don't loan him, if we loan him and he improves and becomes brilliant, West Ham will just take him. Lets take a chance on him, he is going to be a brilliant striker when he develops in my opinion.
Criggers Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Take the out the "u" and I'd be vey happy (I wish!). Suppose any promising striker is exciting, but lets remember that not every young striker will get some of the luck Waghorn did.
Callabinho Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Hardly Id say we do, to compete with the likes of Q.P.R and Cardiff. Boro were nothing so their not going to finish in the top six!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 We do need something, not exactly desperately, but without it, we aren't going to get promoted. If the current squad is left as it is, we'll struggle to even get a playoff place, finishing around 8th in my opinion.
bettso Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Frank Nouble is an absolute giant. With our new found ability to put corners in the mixer, he'd definitely be an asset.

Just another plank writing off our chances before it's even started. you'll be calling for Sousa's head I guess in a few games time.
Tilley Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Even if we did need a player, you can't just sign any old player, got to be the right player. I'd personally prefer someone with abit of experience and a proven goalscoring record to this chap.

But lacked that cutting edge! we did create plenty of chances! but we need to put them away! Im positive that Paulo is the right man for the job! i just hope we can compete for an automatic spot! couldn't take the play-ofs again!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 You can't offer an opinion on these forums without being insulted, its pathetic. That was my opinion, why are you on a public forum if you don't want to listen to anyone else's opinions? Just another plank that thinks his views are the only ones that matter.

I think you had a good point! we do need some extra quality to push on one step further! However i think we still finish in the play offs! but if we could bring in a few "match winners" then it will push us on to the next level! I still think we will end up with Buzsacky, not sure why just do...
dandannieldanok Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Id say we do, to compete with the likes of Q.P.R and Cardiff. Boro were nothing so their not going to finish in the top six! Would happily wager with you that Middlesbrough do finish in the play-offs, at least. You can't offer an opinion on these forums without being insulted, its pathetic. Or perhaps just 'another plank' who isn't forming any rash opinion like declaring we won't finish in the play-offs based on one week of a 46-game season. Fair enough if you think that, but I personally find it pretty strange and actually quite psychic that you can be so confident of such a prediction.

I agree with your opinion that we need to improve the squad but since this has been indicated as an aim then I'm not sure why you feel the need to prophesy an end of season place.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 I just don't think we will, its my opinion. Although I hope the team prove me wrong, I'd love to be up there, I just feel that we need a couple of match winners.

We won't get promoted or we won't buy better players or both?
hackneyfox Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 And the new owners have indicated that is going to happen, obviously they too have realised that we need to improve the quality so there is hardly a need for you to make out that your opinion is a lone voice in the wilderness. Not having a go here, just not understanding why you bother with such posts.
