Darlington have been relegated 4 divisions. Not sure why, presumably the financial stuff, just caught the headlines on SSN.

Heavy, that.

Harsh.

But could only think that if something like that happened to Leicester it would be a laugh (in a good way), taking over sheds and villages week in week out. Sometimes I think about supporting Oadby Town but just don't think I could get into it but once you've followed a team for a long time, you stick with them til death!

Fans will probably love it, hopefully they'll knock that stadium of theirs too and maybe have a secure future in a stadium that meets their needs.

Doesn't work quite like that as they'll have to apply to join the league and could be rejected - similar to Kettering. Even though they are talking about swanning the Southern Premier they've put enough noses out of joint that this is in no way clear cut, with rumours of them being refused and facing the prospect of UCL football.

Aye it's not nice and I feel for both sets of fans and players.

This has happened a few times hasn't it? The only one I can think of at the minute is Scarborough F.C.

They've already left the Darlington Arena and are groundsharing with another non-league club in the area. There are still hopes of getting back to Feethams long term, though how viable this is is unknown.

One of my favourite games was going to watch the Cobblers at Darlo, it's a crying shame what's been allowed to happen to that lovely club.

Before George Reynolds came along and destroyed them, they were always a small, unpretentious community club that lived within their means and did things the right way.

It's genuinely sad to see where they are now.
