Guest Bilo Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Darlington looking likely to follow them as well sadly. Their attendances are likely to fall to three figures next season in the BSN, farcical in a 25,000 seater stadium.
RowlattsFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Fleetwood Town promoted to the League for the first time. Well done to them. I personally always like to see a new name on the league ladder.
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I wouldn't be surprised to see them in League One before long. They're very well funded and have climbed from the regional leagues for that reason.
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Fleetwood Town promoted to the League for the first time. Well done to them. I personally always like to see a new name on the league ladder. Another crawley town........great!
Voll Blau Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Another crawley town........great! Damn straight. Travesty when you've got nothing clubs buying their way up the leagues at the expense of your Lutons, Wrexhams, , Cambridges, Grimsbys (hell, even Ketterings) etc.
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Damn straight. Travesty when you've got nothing clubs buying their way up the leagues at the expense of your Lutons, Wrexhams, , Cambridges, Grimsbys (hell, even Ketterings) etc. How's it a travesty when that was Top's big plan this season?
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 How's it a travesty when that was Top's big plan this season? Probably because if the money is pulled out of clubs like crawley and fleetwood it could finish the club.
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 If the money is pulled out of this club and the loans called in it could finish Leicester City.
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Probably because if the money is pulled out of clubs like crawley and fleetwood it could finish the club. And that's different to here because? Plus, his point was about it being at the expense of other sides not about potential bankruptcy.
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 And that's different to here because? Plus, his point was about it being at the expense of other sides not about potential bankruptcy. because most small clubs with tiny fan bases have increased chances of folding.
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 If the money is pulled out of this club and the loans called in it could finish Leicester City. Nah, leicester would survive, fleetwood and crawley....unlikely.
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 because most small clubs with tiny fan bases have increased chances of folding. I still have no idea what this has to do with the price of fish in relation to his post and my question to him.
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I still have no idea what this has to do with the price of fish in relation to his post and my question to him. Depends on the fish....and quantity of course.
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Depends on the fish....and quantity of course. If this starts another run of fish-based puns I'm going to be very grumpy.
Asha Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Darlington relegation confirmed, with Hayes set to follow soon. And furthermore, after just one day of general sale Newport have apparently sold approximately 12,000 tickets for the FA Trophy Final against York, meaning the initial allocation of 15k is set to be snapped up with further tickets required. Great support from the Amber Army
cambridgefox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Cambridge Utd manager paid for the entry and transport for the 80 fans at Barrow last weekend which he paid(£1100) out of his own pocket and the players clubbed in for pizzas and drinks for the journey home.Cambridge won 3-1.This was a thankyou for their support. Now i know there wasnt many away fans for a nothing fixture and a long trip but i think they deserve a bit of praise for the gesture
Leicesterpool Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Since there's no game saturday for the foxes, how about coming to see Nuneaton Boro take on Colwyn Bay a cracking atmosphere due, very big game with boro being in the play off positions. Boro score a few goals aswell, so you don't see many boring games at Liberty Way.
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 I'll be watching Hinckley take on Blyth. It's a massive game for Hinckley. They're a point outside the Conference North bottom three and Blyth are already relegated so it's a good opportunity. I try to make it to local non-league games when City aren't playing and it's always well worth it. I'll be watching Barwell vs Evesham United in the Southern Premier next Saturday. If you live close to one of the local non-league sides I'd definitely recommend it.
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Hinckley were awful today. The lost 3-1 and it was entirely deserved. They're in the bottom three with a game to save themselves. I don't think they will manage it.
BoneDog Posted 22 April 2012 Posted 22 April 2012 Well played to Alfreton Town for doing a great job in the last third of the season and staying up by a mile in the end! Thought they were doomed a few months back but they really sorted it out. I think this was their first ever season at Conference level too.
purpleronnie Posted 22 April 2012 Posted 22 April 2012 Gresley have a great chance to get their 2nd promoton in 2 seasons. Over 600 there yesterday with that support they really should be playing at a higher level. Coalville did ok, they could have finished 11th if they had won yesterday but drew and finished 14th. I always look out for FC united's results, unfortunately after 3 defeats near the end of the season has meant 7th place and outside the playoffs by 1 point. There is still hope with northwich possibily being thrown out the playoffs.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 22 April 2012 Posted 22 April 2012 Nah, leicester would survive, fleetwood and crawley....unlikely. Exactly !!
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Hinckley were relegated from the Conference North today after a 2-4 defeat at Stalybridge. They may well end up being reprieved if the financial situations at clubs such as Darlington, Kettering, Corby and Histon prove too much for those clubs to survive at this level but for now it's time to plan for the Southern League Premier Division and a local derby with Barwell.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 On a high note, Basingstoke Town came from being 12 points off of Chelmsford in 5th place to then finish 4 points above them to finish on 71 points, smashing their record total at Conference South level up to now. This is in no small part thanks to the new manager Jason Bristow who has taken charge of 15 games for the Town winning 10, drawing 2 and losing just 3. They now face 2nd place Dartford in the playoff semi finals who beat Basingstoke 5-1 earlier this season. Before, this would've seemed like too big an ask, but on current form, who knows! I went to go an see them the other day against Hampton and Richmond Borough away. It was a very enjoyable experience, Incredibly close to the action, you can stand and enjoy the game without c**ty stewards ruining it for you and you could even enjoy a pint on the terrace while watching the game!! (A complete revaluation for the football games I've been to!).
