filbertway Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Love that the goalkeeper scored an own goal to make it 100+ haha. It was an easy game against their youth team, all attention turned to the vase at wembley now! If we hold onto the likes of Jerome Murdock and Zac costello we may have a chance in the leauge above.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 Hope Nuneaton do it mate. I quite fancy Boston to do Guiseley in the other tie, and then presumably it'd be Boston-Nuneaton at York Street for the final. May put in an appearance with it being local. I'll be going to the Bston games, wanting a Boston win. Saw them win 5-0 against Blyth the other day, look a decent team. Want Boston to slowly come back up the leagues, would be good to have Rushden, Kettering, Boston and Cambridge in the Conference, few local games.
purpleronnie Posted 3 May 2011 Posted 3 May 2011 Went to see Ashby beat bardon (league above them) last night to win the coalville charity cup, league and cup double for Ashby. No doubt the council will do everything they can to stop Asby progressing up the leagues though. Good to see Heather St John win promotion to the midland combinaton.
Matt Posted 3 May 2011 Posted 3 May 2011 Nuneaton 1 - 1 Telford. FT. Last minute goal from Telford, scrambled in from a throw in. Gonna be tough at Telford for Nuneaton to do it, but sounds like it was tight tonight, hopefully Nuneaton can nick it on Sunday. Guiseley 1 - 0 Boston. FT.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 May 2011 Posted 3 May 2011 Wish Boston had drawn, but they still have a great chance. A loss makes the second leg at York Street more intersting, looking forward to going should be a cracking game.

Ive got a mate on loan at Telford from Derby, Greg Mills winger got bags of pace and has done well for them this season
Matt Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Telford 2 (3) - (1) 0 Nuneaton. HT Telford 2 (3) - (2) 1 Nuneaton. FT. Boston v Guiseley just kicked off.
MC Prussian Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Wimbledon AFC vs. Luton Town playoff final very likely in the Conference. I sense some major trouble.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I'd be pleased for either club winning it to be honest, great two fingers up to the FA. I have a slight preference for Wimbledon though, I can only applaud what they've achieved there in less than a decade. On a Non-League 2011-2012 note though, Lincoln v Grimsby should provide a cracking little derby in the BSP next year. Shame Boston couldn't join the party though, losing 3-2 on penalties to Guiseley after winning by the same score in the second leg at York Street.
purpleronnie Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Just got back from wembley. Can't believe Coalville lost, great day, so unlucky! Wimbledon AFC vs. Luton Town playoff final very likely in the Conference. I sense some major trouble. Nah.
Austin Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Wimbledon AFC vs. Luton Town playoff final very likely in the Conference. I sense some major trouble. Luton hate MK ****** .. So they'll probably just have a beer and a sing song about how much they hate MK.

Epic game at York Street, one of the best neutral games I have been to. Really wanted Boston to do it, and they desrved to win, but were always going to lose on penalties. Such a shame they couldnt get into the Conference just hope they get up next season.
Brainy Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 didnt know Robert Ambrusics had been at Redditch on loan either
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Went to see Coalville Town tonight against Shepshed, won 2-0 with 10 men! Referee was pretty awful, wasn't a sending off, there player overreacted then when he got sent off never stopped running! Scored a volley from just under 25 yards, pretty decent! For £3 admission couldn't say no
Guest Bilo Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Fleetwood looking a fair bet to go up this season after a 6-2 bashing of Ebbsfleet, but Wrexham well on their heels. It's pretty much a two horse race now with Luton well behind. Grimsby have improved massively since Christmas, only one point outside the playoffs when they weren't a million miles away from the relegation zone at the beginning of December. So hope is not yet dead boys and girls. Sad thing is that a couple of established old clubs are on the brink of bankruptcy, Darlington and Kettering will do well to end the season with their financial woes. Meanwhile Nuneaton are going good guns in the Blue Square North, so Coventry could soon have a derby with a club befitting their status.
Daggers Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Sad thing is that a couple of established old clubs are on the brink of bankruptcy, Darlington and Kettering will do well to end the season with their financial woes. Darlo going the fans-owned route - might well work out for them as they are organised and raising decent funds. Kettering are screwed: George Rolls is coming to town with his lies and ulterior motives.

Kettering are screwed: George Rolls is coming to town with his lies and ulterior motives. With Darlington, there was tentative talk of them going back to Feethams and rebuilding a smaller stadium but I think the land has since been sold to a property developer so that's a non-starter nowadays. They will surely have to leave that stadium, it's crippled them financially and the fans hate it. Kettering is a really sad story, proper bread and butter non-league club that has suffered from chronic under investment for a while. I always thought going to Nene Park wasn't the best option either, but they were rather bereft of choices after being screwed over the rent on Rockingham Road unless I'm mistaken. With Rushden going under, Kettering seemingly going the same way and Northampton struggling at the foot of League Two, it's been an awful year for football in Northants. Corby doing well in a new stadium is about the only bright spark at the moment. Hopefully things will turn around for football there, it's not a dissimilar situation here in Lincolnshire. If you go back 5 years, we had Grimsby, Boston and Lincoln all in the Football League. Now Grimsby are on the verge of the BSP play-offs after a good run, but Lincoln are in serious danger of getting sucked into a relegation battle and Boston are a mid-table BSN outfit. Depressing really.

Poppies: The ****ers deserve everything coming to them due to their wholesale pathetic attitude. They all want someone else to sort their problems and they aren't going down because of under-investment but from simple shite management. Paying players big sums, running a ground which the income could never afford, basing a budget on non-existent sponsorship? The whole thing was a joke from begining to end. I've spent a season with them and I have so little sympathy it's unreal.

I've spent a season with them and I have so little sympathy it's unreal. I saw your post a little while back on Talking Balls about the apathy of the fans as well, unreal that fans don't seem to care when their club goes under. I know one or two Poppies fans which is why I'm saddened to see them go under, but sometimes you have to lay blame at the feet of incompetent management rather than the shite modern football world we live in. Any chance of a phoenix club being created if/when the inevitable happens do you reckon, or will Northampton or Corby suddenly see an increase in attendances?
Daggers Posted 21 February 2012 Posted 21 February 2012 Any chance of a phoenix club being created if/when the inevitable happens do you reckon, or will Northampton or Corby suddenly see an increase in attendances? Yes, but with a drastically reduced number of people. There's so much bickering and the average age of the support is senile+ that there seems to be little will to do anything of note. AFCR&D are flying now, and the best of luck to them. They are organised, committed and very well supported. I can't see Kettering amounting to anything like that, without a sugar-Daddy they really are fvcked...and George Rolls is like the kind of daddy Childline was set up for. Like most clubs at this level, many fans are also supporters of bigger sides. There's a whole number of Citeh fans who go see games as well as some followers of shite top 4 sides. The Cobblers may pick up 50 or so, 20 local fans will drift off to Corby but with any luck most people will move down the pyramid and plough money into Rothwell Town who are currently in administration and deserve the cash.
Asha Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Today it's the FA Trophy QF's Cambridge United v Wealdstone Luton Town v Gateshead Grimsby Town v York City Northwich Victoria v Newport County Could be an interesting round, leading onto an interesting finish to the tournament - The winner of which bags 50k in addition to the already accumulated prize money from each round (progressing through the QF would bring in 8k). Hopefully County can come through against opposition two divisions lower, who are currently homeless (today's fixture is being played at Moss Rose) and with a manager who is in charge of his final game before leaving for a job in Portugal, just a few games since taking over. You would expect Luton and York to be real contenders for the trophy too, but both face BSBP opposition.
Asha Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Kettering relegated from the BSP. 3-0 defeat today to Mansfield confirmed it, with player-manager Ashley Westwood being sent off to cap it all. And out of interest, anyone here going to the FA Trophy final? With Newport connections I'll be there but I seem to recall there being one or two here who sometimes watch York City as well. Could be interesting
