Unit Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Reading going to penalties... Blackpool out. Hopefully knackered them out a bit for saturday.
Head Honcho Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 I'm gonna be in Malta for the next round so hope we get someone we can beat so I can make the next round or someone big so we get the Sky game.
leftsideoverhere Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Please draw Ipswich away Dear God, no. Pretty much anything would be preferable to another trip to Ipswich. Silly long journey with no motorway, stupid prices and don't get me started on their fans. As for tonight, excellent. Worked hard first half, and apart from the goal, which was very well worked at pace, we looked more together both at the back and the front. Liked the look of Moussa, although it's true we looked better as a team when Kingy came on. Howard was man of the match for me, although there were several contenders. Last point: their fooking stewards wading into the (sparse) crowd to make people sit down while the whole of the block behind the other game (home fans) were allowed to stand all game. How does Leeds of all places have the most miserable stewards? They did their best to squash any atmosphere out of the away following, but the away end was pretty good in spite of them, and especially the madness after the penalty went in.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Another trip to Fulham, it has to be, keep up the once every 2 years. Although Stoke is still the dream. Arsenal away would be weak. Nailed it. Yes Tom. I NEED it to be Stoke away.
Heskey2011 Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Brilliant away support for the lads tonight, we looked different team in the 2nd half whatever Sousa said did the trick, great comeback, great result, maybe a kick-start for Saturday. Well done City, marching on to Wembley!
davbison Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Just got back from the game (City fan living in Leeds). We looked terrible first half, Gally was having a nightmare wide right and must have been caught offside 5 times. We looked like a proper team second half, more so when King came on which gave Gally licence to play a more central role which he seemed to thrive on. Howard was my MOTM, worked tirelessly and could have had a hat trick. Ratings: Logan 7 - Couldn't be blamed for the goal, and had little to do other than a couple of saves Berner 6 - Gradel caused him all sorts of problems today, struggled with lack of pace Hobbs 7 - Fairly quiet game but went about his business well Morisson 6 - Made a lot of mistakes first half and his distribution was poor at times Lamey 5 - Jury's stil out in my opinion didn't think he was good at all Wellens 8 - Worked hard, picked out some good passes as usual Moreno 7 - Thought he played a lot better in midfield rather than at the back. He's got an eye for a cracking pass Moussa 7 - Great footwork, got plenty of pace - think he'll be good as an impact sub this season N'guessan 7 - Worked hard today down the right, thought he had a good game Gallagher 8 - Awful first half, brilliant second half. Great bit of skill to set up Howard for a sitter that he missed Howard 9 - Won everything in the air, gave 110% and nice to see him score the penalty Subs King 8 - Turned the game around for us when ge came on. Kennedy 6 - Looked very lightweight, although playing on the wing is probably not his best position Neilson - N/A
foxer Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 That was a good laugh, well chuffed with the result! Hilarious scenes with the stewarding. My video of the penalty:

Pretty much because i live in Norwich and it would be the only Midweek game i could get too But would rather see a nice easy draw and a decent cup run

davbison Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Agree with most the ratings but not Lamey a 5? thought he worked hard and beat their left back a couple of times good cross n all, jury still out tho. Maybe 5 was a bit harsh, no more than a 6 though. Found him frustrating to watch as he seemed to take an eternity to pass the ball and when he often gave it away. Hopefully he'll improve over the coming weeks. Not moaning though, always nice to beat Leeds especially when I can gloat in an office full of Leeds fans tomorrow! I think a lot of positives can be taken from 2nd half performace today, lets hope we can build on this for Saturday and get a win on the board against Reading who will no doubt be tired after extra time *although having said that they seemed to have rested a lot of key players)
darko2k7 Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 at King nearly going arse over tit when celebrating penalty
KFS Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Anything but West Ham. I'd get ribbed so much if we were to lose.
leftsideoverhere Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Brentford away. Nice ground, good fans, London, and a team we can beat. Perfect. If not them, then a premiership side (not Chelsea, who would get double figures against our defence at the moment) away, maybe West Ham or Fulham.
Tubes Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Just got back, almost the perfect night! Good perfomance, completely dominated I thought and cracking support! 1964 Fox, that was me talking to you quite often I didnt realise it was you until I saw it on your shirt when I left!
Guest Bilo Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Brentford away. Nice ground, good fans, London, and a team we can beat. Perfect. If not them, then a premiership side (not Chelsea, who would get double figures against our defence at the moment) away, maybe West Ham or Fulham. A pub on every corner of the ground no less. Perfect. West Ham is a decent shout as well. Expect chavs to have their photos taken by the Green Street road signs though.
lildave3 Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Bloody brilliant second half. The introduction of King made a difference, but so did changing Gallagher's role. People know my thoughts of Paul Gallagher and I make them well known but in the second half tonight he was allowed to drift wherever, from a more central role and he did it brilliantly. Linking things up left right and centre, and generally played really well there. Chocolate Moussa looks a good lad too, like to see him start again Saturday. Lamey also. And while i'm at it, Morrison. We were stood behind Jack Hobbs' parents tonight too it turned out. Oh, and the defender that gave the pen away is a dopey twat!
SirBlueFoxington Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 What date is the next round? week commencing the 20th.

Agreed on that too, seeming as I live about 10 minutes away from there.. if not then Arsenal, Spurs or Chelski away would be brill!
fox123 Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Wheres that Swansea fan now? Great result even if it isn't the league. This should propel us nicely going in to the game against Reading.
The MayneFox Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 got back ratings: Logan 7 Lamey 7 Morrsion 6.5 Hobbs: 7 Gallagher 8 N'quessan 7 Moreno 6 Moussa 8 King 8 Howard 8 Wellens 8 Kennedy 5 1st half=Burnley poor 2nd half= best team around??? Moussa was very good today, hill be class hopefully, disappointed not to see Cricnc???
Ultra Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 What date is the next round? Week commencing 20 September. Quality night out, especially when ltravelling back to Leeds city centre on a shuttle bus wiith a bunch of saddened locals.. The second half comeback shoukd hopefullly put paid to any nonsense about Sousa "losing the dressing room". Howard in particular was immense, and made sure that neither DJ nor Fryatt were particularly missed. I trust that the anti-Sousa brigade will now be gracioua enough to offer a grovelling apology..
Mikey Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 Cracking 2nd half, thought we deserved the win in the end. Lamey, Gallagher, Hobbs, Wellens, Howard and King were all great. Especially King, made the difference when he came on. Thought our support was pretty decent, could have been better, though could have been much worse. Also, some of the stewarding was laughable. Want Brentford or Notts County away.
