Leeds Post-Match Thread

Well i understand that people want to watch a game of football, im not saying we should just run riot at the match but when 1 person goes mad and offers 50 leicester fans out then manages to walk off cus we were scared doesnt look very good does it. fair enough you get families at games and people who dont want trouble. i dont think we should start trouble either im just saying we need to stand up for our selfs and stand together when someone starts trouble with us, not just run away!

I dont know if you saw what he did but he would have never got away with that back in the day so why did he now?

Probably because people don't want to respond to provocation and just get on with their lives? :dunno:

In a vain attempt to steer this thread back to football, here's what I thought of last night (I posted it somewhere else first, just copied it in here):

That's Scholes, Barry & Super Steve I've criticised only for them to hilariously merk me within hours in the past few days.

Who should be next?

First half tonight we were terrible, it was all the worst aspects of Pearson's reign with nothing good happening at all. Lots of long balls to Howard, who was crap to start with. Moreno was shit and got hooked at half time.

Second half, it was like a totally different team. There were still some long balls, but Steve won everything. Probably the best I've seen him play since that game against Watford where he was brilliant then tried to kill one of their players in the corner and got sent off

He didn't just win flick-ons, but he held it up really well, and laid it off superbly. Honestly, I feel like I've just looked out the window and seen a pig flying past.

I think Sousa did pretty well too, bringing on King at h/t helped us keep the ball better, and gave us an extra threat going forward, Steve was far too isolated first half. Then when Gradel was bending us over in the second half (he had a spell where he just ripped us apart, twice he did 4 defenders on the byline and shot straight at Logan) he brought Kennedy on for Moussa, and after that Maxi hardly touched the ball.

I'm more positive for the season after that second half. There's lots of work still to be done, but we looked at least a decent side for 45 minutes.

I'm gonna end on a negative cos that's how I roll. Logan's distribution is still f**king terrible, and generally the ball being near him still terrifies me. Also, Moreno & Moussa were really poor, but they're new so they get more time.

Hey Foxes - Leeds fan in peace here.

Just thought I'd congratulate you on your win last night. Although we controlled the 1st half, you really turned it up in the 2nd and made an impressive comeback. Eventually it was a mistake by our Collins at the end that cost us a place in the 3rd round but I'm not making excuses - Leicester were the better team for the last 45 minutes.

Anyway, good luck in the league and the rest of the cup too - although if you draw Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton or one of the Manchester teams on Saturday I'll REALLY be kicking myself! :D

All the best!

Are you really a Leeds fan? You didn't swear once, you didn't call us tin pot, you didn't mention your attendances, the fact you've won the league or that it was "our cup final". You even gave us some credit... which is unheard of from every Leeds fan I've come across. :D;)

lol

Never had a problem with Leicester, you're alright for an East Mids club. ;) I can't stand Derby and Forest showed themselves to be a dirty bunch of bastards when we played them last Sunday. Plus I have family in your neck of the woods.

Although I do know Leeds and Leicester have "history" - although I think every club in the country has some sort of rivalry with us! - the only team we get brought up to hate is Man U. The rest we pick and choose who we hate. :P

Btw, what the hell was going on with the queues for tickets for home fans last night?! Can't be like that every game, was crazy.

We got to the ground about half past but still missed the first ten minutes of the match trying to find somewhere to buy away tickets! Then got in, found seats in a prime location, somehow managed to stay stood throughout and saw Steve bag a last minute winner  A lad got chucked out standing next to us though, he was told 'sit down or you'll be going' and he just goes - 'where?' lol Woman in the suit was straight onto control control 1 2 1 2.

lildave you must have been near me as that lad was 2 rows behind me, the woman in the suit was a right beast . i was the lad with the big gob always shouting lol

Apparently we were looking very weak last night- words spoken by a Leeds fan! I feel we can be positive and get a win on saturday. Worrying that we have to rely on a Howard pen though! Maybe we are all expecting too much from this season- possibly we over performed last season?

That sure was a game of two halves. To start off, max gradel never played that well, or whipped in balls like that for us!

Thought Wellens was man of the match by a distance, even in the first half, along with steve and Hobbs they were the only ones that performed. The game massively changed at half time. A different, positive formation was the start of it. Paul Gallagher up front had his best game for city, and I really believe it when I say it too.

King was immense when he came on too, he just gave us everything we were missing in the first half.

Howard fully deserved his goal after a fantastic performance too, won absolutely everything in the air and rolled back the years. Wellens on a booking, scored the equaliser, still gave everything he could give and stuck one on max too. Thought the mous had a decent enough game too, very direct.

In the second half yesterday, my team gave my everything I wanted from them, spirit and passion. To come back down from one nil at half time to win at ground like elland road was fantastic for me.

Gradel didn't have to waste stacks of energy being a right midfielder and right back as well.

He was employed as a traditional right-winger. Yes, he tackled back when he lost the ball but his job was to take people on, to deliver crosses and to be a goal threat.

If we'd employed him that way he'd have had the same effect for us - as he did so often in Academy and Reserves football where that was exactly as he was used.

I confronted one of the stewards about the unfairness of us being asked to sit down and the home fans being left alone. At first he had an attitude with me saying that's not my problem this is my block, once he realised I was argueing the point in a calm manner he changed and said you will have to write to the club and complain sir. I thought this would be pointless as I would just get a polite reply however as we have to go there again I intend to contact Leeds prior to our league match with them and then make the complaint in the hope they might get the stewards to be a bit more leaniant with us. Probably won't make any difference but worth a try.

With regards to the woman in the suit, she was very scary I feel sorry for her husband.

I'm sure her husband would be along the lines of:

Thats the answer I got when I said to this to him.

I hate that answer, they are all controlled by 1 man in a suit sitting watching!!

I got told by a steward to move my one foot that was sticking out from where I was standing back from the stairs lol

I asked if he thought that was the worst of his problems?

Completely forgot about that til now

Forgot to add the mighty Ian Marshall was there at the back near one of the exits, very friendly he was as we said hello/goodbye to him on the way out.

absolute bollocks being told to sit down. i really couldn't believe it. ive never ever been told to sit down at an away game before.

It was just as bad as the new wembley, excpet that last night had more atmosphere.

If I'm able to make it up for the league game, I won't be rushing for a ticket.

Only one way to celebrate this - a quick trip to youtube for the 4-0 fanzone video. YOU ARE CRYING INTO YOUR HOVIS MY SON. Epic.

World class! Thanks for reminding me about this! Too funny for words! :crylaugh:

I agree with the woman who just rang in to RL, King was man of the match, we could all see him quite clearly run the game from our radios.

I don't agree, the only thing King did was kick the ball off the line, the only reason it looked like the game changed when he came on was because at the same time he came on Gally was moved up front, and that was what made all the difference

i was there last night with the blue army. did anyone else see that big **** going mad after the game???

If you did why the fook dint we do him, cant let these ****s walk over us, if they start like he was we should all just do um together!

Think about it. the popo would be there straight away so even if they did out number us the popo would break it up straight away but we wouldnt have been out numbered anyway. And if the popo came they wouldn't arrest all of us so why be scareddd!

C'mon boysss! Bring the old boys back that actually gave city a name to be proud of!

What the fook is popo?

I dont know how else to put this but you sound like a right **** and I suspect that if you tried to start anything you'd get knocked the fook out.

Just shut your mouth and enjoy the game. If you want to fight, join a boxing gym.
