Matt Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 I'd love it, Just love it, When () we score tomorrow all our players do the 'Shhhhhh' celebration.
Smudge Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 If you think the club would tolerate them in the family stand then you're living in cloud cuckoo land! 'won't get bothered hopefully!' hmmmm And please stop using txt spk. Check the forum guidelines. That's not fair, others use text speak and don't get told off. Anyway if you don't like it you can move to another thread where you don't have to read it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Feeling moved to reply to sbfox and Mr Hanky. Contrary to what you say, I don't think it will do the club any harm to get a load of correspondence from all kinds of people in support of what the Fosse Boys are trying to do. You can quibble with how they've managed to achieve that, but they didn't ask for the Mercury to publish the story. The Mercury are just responding to what lots of Leicester fans obviously think is a big issue - the level of vocal support for the team within our stadium. The club appear to have targeted the Fosse Boys because of their presently small numbers and contacted them to say they will be ejected should they behave in a certain way. I was near them for the Middlesbrough game and they sat for periods of the game - obviously a lot more than L1 did. The fact that the club still contacted them despite this is what really irked me. Also, the club are in a position of power and, regardless of what anyone thinks of them, will have trained professionals responding to and in dialogue with the Fosse Boys and they will be well within their comfort zone responding to this situation. I think it's a fair comment to say the Fosse Boys need to firm up their communications but this is all of the club's doing. Without their getting in touch, none of this would have happened. Also, it's unfair to expect the Fosse Boys to be flawless in what they say. They just want to create an ultras group to support our club, not to get into media nit-picking. The whole thing leaves a bit of a sour taste and I suppose it's inevitable that at least one person would sound caution in the wave of support the Fosse Boys are getting but I don't think the club have covered themselves in glory in their actions, regardless of why they contacted the Fosse Boys in the first place. The fact they did it is what we should be focusing on and I think the support received is fully merited. It keeps authority on its toes if people stir things up a little bit every now and then. Now the club know how many fans are supportive of more atmosphere being generated at the Walkers rather than just hearing from these 22 complainants.
Walkers Wench Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Or you could get your tickets moved to the corner of SK1 and join us? It could be a consideration! Wouldn't a group for 40-something women spoil your cred tho....
Stand UP... Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 well the whole back end of sk1 is sold out, i had to settle for the middle of sk1
LCFC-ARAB Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 well the whole back end of sk1 is sold out, i had to settle for the middle of sk1 That doesnt sound good.... a 5:20 kick off live on sky? i'd guess we'd have less than the boro game somethings up
Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 But you have specifically told us that the club apparently received 22 complaints because you were too noisy That is not the case - you've made that up completely, based on your own assumptions without any factual basis whatsoever, and this whole emailing frenzy has been driven by what you have said No wonder the club are totally pissed off Have to agree. The club wouldn't give bans out for singing. That's too far-fetched. My moneys on the persistant standing. It says on the front of the match tickets this year, "Persistant Standing is Forbidden"
lcfcadam Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 That doesnt sound good.... a 5:20 kick off live on sky? i'd guess we'd have less than the boro game somethings up If you go on the online ticket thing, almost the whole stadium is either sold-out or limited. It looks similar to the day before a big Forest or Leeds match or something... very weird given Sky coverage, kick-off time, opponents, current form etc!
Walkers Wench Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 well the whole back end of sk1 is sold out, i had to settle for the middle of sk1 be interesting when you get there to have a look and see if it IS actually sold out.......

The chance to go for a tenner is going to draw a lot of people in that probably wouldn't go otherwise, and not everyone's got Sky

MikeyT Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Just a quick update on what's happening with the group at the moment. Following on the from the Middlesbrough game LCFC apparently received 25 e-mails regarding the group, of which 3 were in support and 22 were apparently complaints about us being too noisy (remember, the "Kop" is meant to be our home end). As a result we have been issued with an ultimatum, to either move or face ejections/bans. Obviously we don't much like this bullying approach and as such we need a short time to resolve this issue. So we have decided that just for the Reading game on Saturday there will be no Fosse Boys section at the back of SK1. This is obviously a setback to the group's ambitions but we know if we don't get our organisation right while the group is still in its infancy we're doomed to fail, so hopefully people will understand why we're doing this. If anybody would like to contact the club in support of us, please e-mail [email protected], as they obviously value the electronic word far greater than the dozens and dozens of people in the ground who shook hands with us, complimented us on how good it was to have some vitality and passion at home games and generally wished us well last Saturday. All group members will be able to pick up their match tickets and season tickets from us in The Counting House before the game on Saturday. If you have any questions about this please PM me or ARAB. Thanks. Sad, sad people
AoWW Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Seems strange to me that the back of SK1 is sold out, but not SK2 or SK3. Is that usual?
LCFC-ARAB Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Seems strange to me that the back of SK1 is sold out, but not SK2 or SK3. Is that usual? No it's not, that corner in SK1 is normally the last place to sell out the club are up to something
Stand UP... Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 I cant see it being an issue. This has generated so much interest not just on the foxes forum but various sites and the media, i think people have just gone in there whordes to buy tickets in sk1, well i hope thats what it is. The whole of sk4 is sold out which is impressive.

I like your optimism, but i think the club have stopped selling tickets in this area, then the stewards are going to be more strict on checking people are sitting in the right seats that's my guess

If we knew how many have actually bought tickets in sk1 would be a big help
Foxes1 Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 I sat near the Fosse Boys at the M'boro game and I found no problem with them at all, lets face it the atmosphere at the Walkers is poor. Oh for the old days when we stood in SK3 at Filbo when football grounds all round the country had some atmosphere. But football these days has been taken over by the corporate side, What next ban Jobber with his drum, OH NO they wont do that because the club thought it up and not the fans.
AoWW Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 No it's not, that corner in SK1 is normally the last place to sell out the club are up to something Hmm, must admit I'm suspicious too. But look at it this way, even if some/most of your group end up having to be in the middle block of SK1 assuming you're sat down (!) the club really don''t have a leg to stand on, even if you are making lots of noise (shock horror!). As others have already said in here, I think it would be in the group's best interests (on this occasion, at least) to be as polite, friendly, welcoming blah blah as is humanly possible. I'm sure many of you are more than capable of turning on the charm! I appreciate it's far from your original agenda but, in my opinion, the only way you're going to outwit the club is by, over the next few games, getting as much support as possible so that when the time comes and you decide to stand you've got strength in numbers, much like in L1. If I were you, though - and purely to satisfy your own curiosity - I'd take a good look at 'who' seems to be sitting in the back of SK1 tomorrow... chances are these could well be next week's complainants! And, if that is the case and you have further contact from the club, please please try and get their comments in writing. As it is I see no reason why they shouldn't share with you (names/contact info removed, of course) copies of the complaints they've received so far (if, indeed, they actually exist) so you can address the concerns raised more effectively.

Oh, good god, we're doing a Cov (Saying its a near sell out or some far-fetched attendance that just simply isn't true with empty seats everywhere). Oh the shame.
Karljohn Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 For what its worth I have emailed the club, think the fosse boys should attend tomorrow and I will gladly start singing... "fosse boys, give us a song?" in the hope that another couple of thousand join in!

Trust me, we will be doing that from now on! no more conversations over the phone. if the club want to contact us they have a contact email we're always polite and welcoming at every game anyway!
