ibbosuk Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Why are people bothering to argue the toss with ibbosuk when he's clearly just on the wind up?! Nice choice of words Spiderpig, Definately ment as a Wind-Up Wind-Up a verb for terminating the existence of a company or other entity with a view to its liquidation and dissolution....
SamL Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Nice choice of words Spiderpig, Definately ment as a Wind-Up Wind-Up a verb for terminating the existence of a company or other entity with a view to its liquidation and dissolution.... Pedantic fool. If you're not going to offer any constructive criticism or offer solid proof to back up your points then please don't bother posting any more in this thread.
Far Post Gerry Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 If that's your scheme Ibbosuk, it's backfiring big time. You're coming across as a classic example of everything that's wrong with the Walkers (and football in general) nowadays, and firing up even more support for the Boys. Good work!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Nice choice of words Spiderpig, Definately ment as a Wind-Up Wind-Up a verb for terminating the existence of a company or other entity with a view to its liquidation and dissolution.... Oh dear. If you're going make an attempt at pedantry, at least try to rephrase the Wikipedia definition you've just found on Google (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind-up) You also apparently missed this entry on the same page: 'a noun in UK English slang meaning a prank' Which means your issue must be with the absence of a hyphen; a contentious issue with no definite answer as to whether a hyphen should be included. Are you trying to embarrass yourself? Either answer people's arguments against the points you've made or don't bother saying anything.
KFS Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 This is going to become an argument in which people scan eachothers posts for the slightest flaws isnt it?

Lillehamring Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/08/28/shh-fans-told-115875-22519989/ This really can't be far from the point where LCFC die with embarrassment. i get the feeling that someone at the club thought by threatening the FBs that they would run away with their tails between their legs - and it nearly worked, fortunately they completely underestimated the strength of feeling of leicester fans. i also like the way that the mercury are now quoting the group as being 50 strong. i will be looking out for the kop on sky this evening, and hope that the support for the FBs is stronger than ever.
stripeyfox Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I have made my feeling known on this forum, I am sure I am in the majority as regards the general public. Going to a football match with a few friends is fine, large oranised groups should be banned unless they are organised by the club or supporters Club.. Fosse Boys have ALREADY caused the football club hassle and they have only just formed !!!..... I do not intend to give you any more of a soap box on this forum (Go somewhere else, or better still if you feel so strongly make your own board and stick to it) DWTFB................................... You have made your feelings known - correct. You are sure you are in the majority - probably not (apart from Daily Mail readers probably) The day Fosse Boys go rampaging through the City smashing up shops and pubs and causing women and children to flee in terror, I'll be the first to agree with you. Unfotunately there are many "middle aged middle class" blokes who grew up doing the same things as the youngsters do today and look down on them. Presumably you were young once? These lads are doing no harm - the worst they are guilty of is standing up in the ground (which they have made great efforts to ensure they do not obscure anyoes view in doing so) which the club are now using as a weapon to batter them into submission, despite turning a very large blind eye to the same thing happening in L1 and in the visitors section. I can only conclude that your are on the wind up (hyphen or not, you choose) which in common english parlance means a prank or deliberate attempt to goad a victim into a reaction. Good luck today Fosse Boys, and all supporters of the Foxes.

Well the amount of times the clubs has told us it's "our" (The fans) football club, doesn't feel much like "our's"
KFS Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 You know, i posted that from my phone and thought i should correct it on the grounds of the topic. I told myself that it noone would care. I was wrong!
Flynny Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I think the reason so many people have sent messages to the club is because this touches on something far more fundamental than this one incident. Hopefully, the club might just decide to make a bit more of an effort in future. A lot of the emails people sent in seem to have been really wide-ranging which is helpful. They should have got the message loud and clear.

Whatever the rights and wrongs are - this touched a nerve - and we should continue to offer our "constructive criticism" to the club going forward. Let them know that we will not continue to sit quietly on our hands while they bastardise the club
Narborough_fox Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Read in an earlier post something about trying to get a word in with Sky, are you thinking about it or was it just an idea.
Far Post Gerry Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Sorry if this is painfully obvious to everyone, but all the club wants is good PR. They want a nice "family club" (a la Fulham and Norwich) where they can invite their corporate guests without fear of a riot. So bake a cake, drop the kids off, clap the boys, and visit the megastore after the game. That's what the club wants. Otherwise, you ain't wanted at City.
easilee Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Sung to the tune 'When You're Smiling' Kevin Barclay, Kevin Barclay What are you tryin' to do Kevin Barclay, Kevin Barclay We make your revenue But when you're moanin' You look like a twat So stop you're moanin' Let us stand up and clap Kevin Barclay, Kevin Barclay Why don't you fook off home

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Why would anyone complain?! What do they want all noise banned?
sbfox Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Oh come on! People have as much right to complain as you and I do to sing and shout for the 90. Everyone enjoys their football in different ways and who are we to say that those people who like to sit quietly or whatever are 'wrong' in their opinion. We all know the Fosse Boys are being threatened because they are persistently standing, not because of their singing. Yeah these 22 complainers might be a little boring, but they can complain if they want to...

Yeah these 22 complainers might be a little boring, but they can complain if they want to... From what I've read no one has said they are wrong and they can enjoy the football however they like? If they dont want noise then they should sit else where.. because the KOP is normally the vocal area of the ground. Which, I'm pretty sure has been said alot....

Yeah these 22 complainers might be a little boring, but they can complain if they want to... i think the issue is not denying people the right to complain, it's the fact that the club would either A) use it to bully the fosse boys out or B) persecute a majority (the FB) over a minority (those who feel the need to complain about a natural part of the game). if the FB are being threatened because they are persistently standing, not because of their singing. then it was out of order for the club to mention the complaints in association with the threat.and if they do chose to complain they are inevitably going to be laughed at, because it doesn't take a genius to realise that if you don't want to hear singing you shouldn't sit in the Kop

I do not intend to give you any more of a soap box on this forum (Go somewhere else, or better still if you feel so strongly make your own board and stick to it) DWTFB................................... Why do you get to decide who gets a 'soap box' on this forum? You've proved yourself wrong on basically every aspect of this debate every time you post; you clearly haven't ever met any of the lads involved with the FB, and you've formed a completely prejudiced view not only of them but of anyone who backs their efforts to improve the atmosphere at the Walkers. My 11 year old son and I have chosen to have our season tickets in the kop rather than the family stand precisely because we want to join in with singing and chanting to support our team. That doesn't make us louts, or any of the other perjorative terms you've been bandying about. Even the club encourages people to sit in the kop for "the atmosphere". Perhaps you've had a bad experience in your younger days - certainly when the likes of the ludicrously named Baby Squad and their ilk turned football matches into an excuse for a scrap your views on 'groups' might have made some sense. But time's moved on, pal, and your views are now as out-of-date as the hooligans they seem to be based on. The FB have done everything in their power to avoid being a nuisance to other fans. If you'd read this thread, or even noticed them at the Boro game, you'd realise that.
