ACF Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 A cheaper alternative is to make some large pin bagdes with the Fosse Boys design on it. FB supporters could wear them on their jackets. Actually, that sounds good. Scarves for the Fosse Boys, badges for the supporters of the supporters.
stix Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Hmm probably wont like the idea of non-participants having them but it wouldn't half confuse the stewards with people entering different parts of the ground sporting them. But surely the fans that arent in approval of what the fosse boys are trying to implement wont buy one? And those that are and do buy one would be participants? They cant prevent every single person from entering the stadium because they are wearing a fosse boys scarf surely?! Dress code at the football....pah!....it'll never last!!

Scarves for the Fosse Boys, badges for the supporters of the supporters. Don't fancy a badge.
stix Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Ive got it..... Initiation ceremony. Prospective customers must stand infront of the fosse boys, with a 'loaned' scarf and sing and bounce for 90 minutes.... ....if they've got the stamina...they've got the scarf!!! Genius

I know what you meant dave but surely the aim of getting some kind of atmosphere at the walkers can only get better with bigger numbers
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Hmph, fine. A badge wont keep me warm in the winter.
ACF Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 A badge wont keep me warm in the winter. The scarves are for waving, so they are made of silk. Not exactly to keep you warm
stripeyfox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Fosseboys keep on fighting!! It was never going to be easy and its important you dont fall at the first hurdle. Barclay thinks he can bully you so you give up, dont let him win. It is a war now! And you will have to be clever. Create a mission statement, 2 sentences detailing who you are and what you do! Much like any business its a great way of explaining to people what your about. Draw up a list of things you want from the club. (I dont just mean being allowed to stand) thing like all contact received from the club being in writing, that way they cant worm around what they have or haven't said, arrange a meeting, invite the press. Try and speak to people as high up as possible at the club. My advice would be to play to your strengths but recognise your weaknesses and try to address them. Strengths 99% of football fans agree with what you are doing. On top of this the issues you are facing are issues being faced by supportors at most clubs in this country. Strength in numbers is only wothwhile if you can prove your numbers. Start a petition against the club. While many people have emailed the club you have little idea how many people have supported you. Also get the message out to other fans on other discussion boards. Try and start a national campaign for something to be done in this country! Try and get ex players onside to join the campaing! Weaknesses Stereotypes - Alot of people will stereotype you as thugs and hooligans! look to move away from this by fundraising for charity or helping in the community! for example you meet in the pub before the game! If each of you chips in a quid every game, based on 50 of you by the end of the season you can donate a £1000 to charity. A good chance to get a pic in the paper and show everyone in Leicestershire what a positive thing you are doing. This gets alot of non football fans onside as well. The mayor of Leicester is supporting you! Use it! Thats a general basis of what i would advise! I hope you guys continue because its a huge fail on the clubs part if the fosse boys die out. Some good points here. I'm sure that donating to charity is probably not a core value of an Ultras group but it would be massively good for PR.
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 i'll have a scarf if there going into production
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 The scarves are for waving, so they are made of silk. Not exactly to keep you warm Thinking about it this maybe another reason they don't like the Fosse Boys they want you to buy their shitty over priced merchandise.
ACF Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Thinking about it this maybe another reason they don't like the Fosse Boys they want you to buy their shitty over priced merchandise. They want you to buy those posh woolen scarves that keep you warm and whatnot. If there is a sufficient demand for new scarves, I'll talk to ARAB. You deleted my thread in Transfer Talk, didn't you, DIDN'T YOU!

Fosse Boy Posted 31 August 2010 Author Posted 31 August 2010 For what it's worth here's my responses to the questions the Merc reporter sent me. I was at the match on Saturday. I have been a member of Fosse Boys since the group's inception earlier this summer. On Saturday we approached the turnstiles at SK1, the section in which all members of our group had purchased tickets. A few of the group were allowed through without trouble but most were held outside by the stewards and refused entry. Those of us who were allowed entry attempted to find out why this was, but the stewarding team seemed extremely ambiguous in their reasoning, eventually settling on the fact that those outside were wearing scarves with "Fosse Boys" written on them. At this point the stewards told us that we had all been sent a letter by the club ordering us to relocate to other areas of the stadium and that we would be refused entry to SK1 if we attempted to enter the ground there, which was not true. The lads who were refused entry were then dispersed by the stewards and sent to other areas of the ground for the duration of the game. This is an unprecedented move by the club as it seems they now believe they have the right to refuse loyal City supporters entry to a certain section of the ground purely based on their attire and the company they choose to keep at games. At this point I requested to talk to Kevin Barclay, the Head of Operations at the club and the man responsible for giving the stewards these orders, but was told in no uncertain terms by the stewards that he would not speak to any of us. Since the founding of the group we have tried to make contact with the club on several occasions and even managed to arrange a meeting with Kevin Barclay to discuss the possibility of bringing in our own homemade flags and a small drum for our section. However Mr. Barclay outright refused both of these requests on health and safety grounds, even though a much larger drum is already installed in the ground in L Block, and that supporters of other English clubs are often encouraged to bring in flags to add some colour to their stadiums on matchdays. As a supporter of Leicester City I feel that my aim when I go to games is just that, to support my team, which I have done through thick and thin come hell or high water since I was a child. The Fosse Boys is all about recognising that aim in an altogether more organised way. Grouping together like-minded fans who share a core set of values and getting them to unite behind a banner and show support for their club both vocally and visually. We want to pay homage to the wonderful tradition of our club and city, but also to promote originality and creativity in our style of support, drawing on influences from the Ultras groups found on the continent, taking our support to the next level to inspire our team. I was not aware that the club have said that the Fosse Boys are now considered a banned organisation and have had no contact from any of my fellow group members communicating any such message, but if it is true than Leicester City, the club that has been supported by my family for multiple generations, that I have adored since the age of five and spent untold amounts of my time and money on following, will be able to count on my support no longer. However, until we receive any such communication we will continue to congregate at the back of SK1 and give it our all for ninety minutes and beyond in support of our team. A football club is reliant on the unconditional loyalty instilled in its match-going fans in order to continue its day-to-day existance. If they think they can continue to take my money each week and treat me like scum for showing my support then they quite frankly have another thing coming. Football fans receive this kind of undeserved treatment week in, week out, up and down the land and it really is time for people to recognise that this is not right and that it is time to act upon it. If I had one message for the club it would be that they should wake up and realise that they are losing an entire generation of fans through a combination of unaffordable ticket prices, rude and authoritian policies on matchday and generally the fact that they seem happy to allow the soul and lifeblood of the club to be devoid of any value to them as an organisation and a business. Leicester City FC seem extremely keen to always try and get more families and children through the turnstiles, but they need to realise that one day these children grow up, and that when they do their continued custom and support should be valued just as highly.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Can I steal that for my avetar please? I would join the Fosse Boys but because I'm too far away. I have work nearly every Saturday and its alot of money to go to Leicester and watch my team play. But I support them 100% and that picture is a good way to show it.

Jodranadinho Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Any news on what Arab and co are deciding to do next? hopefully we'll persist, my new scarf is crying out to be waved at the next match!
