HonradaRaposa Posted 19 September 2010 Posted 19 September 2010 people dont reolise what wellens does in midfeild. he breaks up attacks, forces them out wide & is a good distributer of the ball. people were saying the exact same thing about king this time last year. if you pay attention to how he plays, and his positoning and the passes he picks out. you would see what i mean. & he set up both goals at cardiff on tuesday. Indeed he does, our attacks. He is fat useless waster and should have been hauled off before the break yesterday. One decent half in the last 3 games, for a player who we are continuallly told is footballer he doesn't half give the ball away a lot.

Well I've always thought King had potential if he was played in the right position in the right team where as Wellans, from day one has struck me as a player who takes too long on the ball, is therefore often robbed of it, and whose passing is literally hit and miss with some being superb but many being over/under hit or completely missing their target, he's tenacious but often clumsy in the tackle giving away free kicks in dangerous places. He's a very noticeable player but many just notice his Hollywood passes that come off and fail to see all his poor stuff. I don't actually believe we have anyone better, not that I've seen much of Abe, Moreno or Moussa in the midfield role.

How he did get hauled of yesterday was beyond belief! He needs bringing down a peg or 2 and realise he isnt Paul Scholes!

No. The people that are slating him (like myself a little) are the ones who were probably backing King when others were not as they seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to football.

Look at some of the goals last year, and see who spotted the pass for the goal.

martyn Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Wellens is essentially a talented player but who thinks he's far better than he actually is. He's also wildly inconsistent which leads to overreactions such as this once he's had a couple of poor games. The worry this year so far is that he's giving the ball away with regulation passes, last year he gave the ball away trying to be creative/play an eye of the needle pass.
