Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 The players haven't seemed to mind. And abusive? Really? I know golf crowds aren't exactly football crowds, but come on, man. If it were the other way around, everyone would be talking about the "banter" along the galleries. It seems to me like the crowd--including the vocal and colorful Euro contingent--is having a lot of good, clean fun, which is refreshing considering how uptight golf can be.

No Jordan we have to blow it all out of proportion, thats what we do.
ScouseFox Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 First point of the day on the board. Come on.
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Luke, on the 17th green to NBC after his win: "I felt a lot of love from this crowd." So please, stop worrying about the crowd and start watching some golf.

I hear you - I guess the comment some moron in the crowd made to Rose just as he was lining up his bunker shot (making him have a word with someone in the crowd) just got to me there. But I generalised and I shouldn't have done that. Apologies. FWIW I'd be equally pissed off if some idiot European crowd member tried to put an American off as he was lining up too. Of course getting a shitload of noise in there and having fun is a great thing, but let the guys take their shots. Edit: As far as the actual match goes, the US have been supreme at taking their chances this weekend, and that's showing now.
marko Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 "Dreamsicle" What an enlightened crowd! Some of the shouting is beyond stupid!
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Lawrie looks a lock to win (and good for him, really, he's pretty much been called a crap golfer for 10 years but has always stuck through), so let's call it 10-8 but Europe doesn't lead in any other match. It won't feel comfortable but the U.S. should still win by a few points. That's the great thing about the Ryder Cup, though: every shot matters and the rivalry only grows every two years.
leicsmac Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 6 matches A/S...Europe need them all. Can't see it, but you never know!
Alexikokopops Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 EDIT: Although the one's booing Donald pretty much ever shot he takes can **** off. Show some class. Supporting your team is fine, booing the opposition for just having the audacity to be there is pretty poor. They're shouting "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE", not booing
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Big chip in for Sergio just now, and it looks like McIlroy is going to take the lead on 14. Honestly, I don't know if your TV feed is using different mics, but I'm not hearing any of the Tourettes-like comments ("Dreamsicle?") that you're saying are being shouted.

Shouted literally 15 seconds before my post. Monty commented about ignoring the daft shouting.
leicsmac Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Lots of ties seriously in the balance now...but the Americans know they just have to keep a a few of the allsquare matches level.
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Monty's been on NBC as well and he hasn't said a word about it... Then again, he's also dropped such pearls of wisdom on us as, "Ian Poulter's a combination of Rod Stewart and Sid Vicious." Ahh, shit, Keegan just shanked his drive. He's been overthinking it today but Rory's short game has been great.
Jimothy Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 They're shouting "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE", not booing Sounded like booing. Fair enough, my mistake.
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 That last sequence of missed shots from Tiger, Lefty and Simpson has changed things enough to leave me a little concerned... Not worried yet, mind you, but things hae gotten more interesting.
ScouseFox Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Lawrie wins that hole for a point. 10-8. Rory 2 up with 2 left. Poults 1 up going to the 18th. Potential for 10-10 in a few minutes... (after that we're fúcked because they're winning everything haha.
leicsmac Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Got to turn around some of the later matches here. All still in the balance though.
ScouseFox Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 10-9. Poulter played a great shot to get out of trouble. Molinari goes 1 up against Tiger, Hanson gets back to 1 down from 4 down, and Sergio pulls it back to A/S in his game too. A good 15 minutes or so for us.
FoxyPV Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Lawrie sounded as if someone had told him his family was dead when he being interviewed after winning.
leicsmac Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 Poulter wins to make it 10-10. US still favourites though.
Jordan Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 We still have enough left coming back in to win this, awful start aside.
