Tommy G Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Is there really not a topic on this? Anyway - who do people fancy? Looking forward to see McDowell & McIlroy hopefully playing together. looks like it's been p*ssing it down so practice was delayed today
Jackirius Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Hmmm, usa are shaping up well this year but i think europe will sneak it
dandannieldanok Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 C'mon Europe! Would love to see a McIlroy vs Woods singles, could be explosive.
FoxyPV Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Just to get this off my chest before the inevitable - it's pronounced McDO - EL not anything else!! Europe to sneak it and Monty to shag Tiger on the 18th green on the final day after they win!
dandannieldanok Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Europe are rocking and rolling, great day. Gotta love the Ryder Cup.
dogadug Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 What an ending Mcdowell needs to win to regain the Ryder Cup for Europe
dandannieldanok Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Who'd have thought golf on the radio would be a good idea.....but it bloody well is. Loving this atm, 5live have done a cracking job covering it all. C'mon GMac!

Head Honcho Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 That fool Molinari cost me £140 by blowing the last 4 holes
Fox You Forest Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 You have Paul Mcginley saying in an interview "yeah we'll do all the correct things and close this tournament with the dignity it deserves before we party". The next thing you see is Jiménez jumping up and down on a golf cart with his massive cigar and drinking wine from the bottle. Brilliant.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Superb ending. There were about 20 of us gathered round one of the TVs at work for the last few holes. Love it.

Fosse Boy Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Just been watching the highlights. Never realised how rowdy golf crowds can get. Bunch of pissed up Welsh shouting "Yooooooooorope! Yoooooooorope!", brilliant. Also, is the Ryder Cup the only event in the world where you get British people showing a bit of pan-European pride? Perhaps people just like shoving it to the Yanks at any opportunity.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 That fool Molinari cost me £140 by blowing the last 4 holes Ha unlucky, tbf to Molinari there wasn't a lot he could do about the last 2 holes, Fowler drained a couple of a superb putts. You have Paul Mcginley saying in an interview "yeah we'll do all the correct things and close this tournament with the dignity it deserves before we party". The next thing you see is Jiménez jumping up and down on a golf cart with his massive cigar and drinking wine from the bottle. Brilliant. I love Jimenez, what a guy.
Guest MattP Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 I can't support anything that falls all under the Ghastly European Union banner. Surely we have enough talent to take on the Yanks on our own nowadays?
purpleronnie Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 I'll watch it....on mute...'GET IN THE HOLE' 'USA USA' will drive me insane if I don't.
Jimothy Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 I can't support anything that falls all under the Ghastly European Union banner. Surely we have enough talent to take on the Yanks on our own nowadays? We haven't always though have we. Can you imagine some of the scores in past years had it just been the UK and Ireland. I think the Euro thing is fine. It's something different. We have the good nucleus of a team from these shores and we can just top it up with the odd decent European to give the team an extra edge. I think if we hadn't been able to call on the likes of Garcia, Stenson, Mollinari, Kaymer etc over the past few years we'd have struggled.
Guest MattP Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 I'll watch it....on mute...'GET IN THE HOLE' 'USA USA' will drive me insane if I don't. People doing that on Par 3's need slinging out, Par 4's to recieve a severe beating from Security and anyone attempting it on a Par 5 needs their kneecaps blown off.
I am Rod Hull Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 Golf isn`t really my thing but the Ryder Cup is brill. People doing that on Par 3's need slinging out, Par 4's to recieve a severe beating from Security and anyone attempting it on a Par 5 needs their kneecaps blown off.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 September 2012 Posted 26 September 2012 I don't get in to the Ryder Cup as much as i do the presidents cup but still love it. Can see the americans winning in a tight one. The yanks have plenty of depth with the likes of Furyk and Snedeker as the captains picks is outstanding. Presidents cup last year was one of the best sporting events i've been to, there is something different about watching team golf and the players love it.
kingfox Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Cannot wait for this to start, especially as McIlroy will be going out first. Think it's gonna be 2 wins for Europe, 1 for USA and 1 halve tomorrow. Europe have the experience, and have the three best players in the World right now, but US have a total mixture and four debutants, Snedeker is on serious form, Simpson Major winner, Bradley major winner, Dufner major runner up, these four Ryder Cup rookies boast serious pedigree, and I think it all depends if they can hack the Ryder Cup as it's a whole different ball game to Major's and all other tournaments. Fingers crossed though the likes of Mickelson don't perform again, and Poulter can thrive against the likes of Woods again, and the likes of Westwood find some form, if not I believe the US will win.
