Petchy Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Let the Petrescu thing go... He's not the man we're appointing, Sven is.
jonno24 Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 its about the present, you compare Erikssons managerial record to Petrescu's over the last four years and Petrescu has his pants down. And you compare Sven's record in club management over the last 20 years and he has most 'legendary' managers pants down.
CloudFox Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Interview with Richie Wellens just been on and one line of his interview sticks out that we as fans have been concerned about. He said "It's unfortunate we weren't FIT enough for the full 90 minutes". Obviously due to the conceding of a goal towards the last 10 minutes. So even Richie mentioning the fitness. Interesting. Agreed. I thought his and Berner's interviews were loaded with meaning. For the latter, when asked by Stringer about how he felt about meeting Pearson and Hull next, he claimed he was looking forward to it, and that he hoped the fans would welcome him. When Stringer questioned him about this, Berner said something along the lines of 'we all know why'. Did anyone else pick up on that?
Matt Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Agggghhh, feeling so relieved and so much pressure gone. I know it's one game, but before the game I just felt more positive, and do you know what, it was a 'pretty' as Sousa, but wasn't too bad, and i'll be more than happy playing like that - but actually getting a win. As I said only one game, but I feel more positive after that one game than 9 under Sousa's reign. Really hope Powelly and Stowelly have a big input into Sven's team. Many postives to take, my face is aching I can't take the smile off my face, we'll move on and although i'll be giving Pearson a good welcome back I hope we beat him.
DanTheFox07 Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 4-4-2 is more suited to our play not 4-3-3 waghorn obviously enjoyed first proper game upfront!!! Deffo an important win this one as s****horpe aren`t a team in form, nor do they score a lot of goals! onwards and upwards if sven doesn`t come in and become a tinkerman!
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 BY 75MINS WE WERE TIRED, BUT 2WEEKS INT BREAK AND A LIL TRIP ABROAD GIVES A LIL TIME TO START WORKIN ON IT. DNT 4GET SOUSA DIDNT VALUE FITNESS WHEN HE HAD PLAYERS PLAYING A SLOW PASSING GAME. SVEN WILL SOON SORT THAT OUT. KEEP THE FAITH WE SHOWED TODAY A HUGE WEIGHT OFF THERE SHOULDERS AND AS SOON AS THEY LEARN TO ENJOY FOOTBALL AGAIN WE WILL REAP THE BENEFITS. GREAT WORK TODAY LADS YOU PUT THE WORK IN U RESPONDED TO POWELL AND STOWELL AT THE HELM AND THAT DESERVES A BIG PINT.
Philbert Fox Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 If he is that good a manager he wouldnt be unemployed... Check the facts before you make a comment
MC Prussian Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 A win. At last. From start to finish you could feel the collective nervousness inside the Walkers. It was unusually quiet, the ground bursting with anxiety. Could we overcome the bad start under Sousa and start anew under the guidance of The Two 'Ells? So we did. 4-4-****en-2. We were the better team for 65+ minutes in a rather unspectacular game and had everything under control, without really having to do a lot. Scünthorpe were poor, let's be honest. When they scored, it brought back bad memories. Everyone looked shaky for the last 20 minutes and a few players were totally knackered, in particular Howard, who missed a great chance in the first after a mix-up in the Scünthorpe box (that was quite an odd moment). But kudos to the team for the effort they put in. Until Abe came on, I couldn't single out a particular player or moment that went against us. Only Gallagher had about two incidents where he failed to control the ball accordingly. Abe almost jeopardized the 2-1 lead, when he missed a tackle during a counter by the Iron. I was especially pleased with Vitor's display as right-back. Won almost every single header and also did well in the one-on-ones. There were a couple of mistakes in terms of communication with both Morrison and Hobbs, but the back four convinced me with the way they were composed. King and Wellens disappeared more and more the longer the game went on. Two very anonymous performances today. Although King showed glimpses of fighting spirit here and there. Hope Sven can carry on the good work done by Powell and Stowell. BUT... still no goal from a set-piece...
Mee Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Good performance by the lads, 10 times better than previous. Lets hope this is where our season takes out.
Webbo Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Lets be honest it wasn't a great game. Decent side would have probably beaten us today. The defence looked nervous and generally the whole team was fooked for the last 15 minutes. Relieved more than pleased.
Walkers Wench Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I just don't get the negativity surrounding Sven People are talking about his desire for money but didn't he tear up his £2.4 million contract at Notts County rather than sue them to get it paid up? The negativity is that people see him as coming second to MON, whom many hoped would come back to city. Most are ignoring to fact the the bloke doesn't want to and see Sven as second best!
Leicester_Mad Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Check the facts before you make a comment is he employed then? oops
SeattleShane Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Much needed. Rid of sousa and a win, cant fault. Although i missed half of the game because of crappy Foxes Player. Foxes player worked Ok for me, dont know what the deal is with that thing, wouldnt let me on last week because it said I hadent payed my monthly fee, even though it had gone out of my account a few days earlier.
Corky Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 We needed that result, not the best performance but we were low on confidence and that's understandable. We head into a break with three points so that should give everyone a lift and hope to get another win versus Hull. No one was brilliant really, plenty of workmanlike performances and I was delighted to see Moussa get a goal. Well done to Powell and Stowell for not panicking at 2-1 and bringing on a positive substitution. Feeling better tonight.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Interview with Richie Wellens just been on and one line of his interview sticks out that we as fans have been concerned about. He said "It's unfortunate we weren't FIT enough for the full 90 minutes". Obviously due to the conceding of a goal towards the last 10 minutes. So even Richie mentioning the fitness. Interesting. Yeah I noted that too. Maybe they should have kept the balls locked away in the first days of pre season.
Bugg Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Happy with the result today. Not brilliant but we need a win, and good to see Moussa get his first goal for the club aswell.
Walkers Wench Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 It wasn't a great game,,,plenty of work to be done,,,I'm not saying there wern't mistakes,,,,i'm not saying we played brilliantly,,,but at the end of the day 3 points is 3 points and I'm very happy to take them thank-you. Man sat behind me saying he was bored and could have fallen asleep,,i honestly don't know what some people want...we weren't winning,,people moan,,,we win,,,people moan! Powell made me laugh joining in the celebration for Moussa's goal and picking the linesman up Well done lads
Fosse Boy Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Pleasing preformance, but not happy with how we continue to shit ourselves and sit back when the away side get one back. Oh well, more power to the Powell/Stowell dream team.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Glad we were playing Scunthorpe, anyone half decent would have beaten us and not conceded those 3 goals which were all pretty laughable. We were unsurprisingly disjointed, the shabby performance and nervousness in the 2nd half cannot be helped really because of the ludicrous situation. We got the 3 points which at the end of the day is all that matters. Lovely finish from Moussa, hopefully he'll get more of a look in under Sven.
Corky Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I thought the atmosphere, in the first half especially, was pretty good near where I was. Edgy second half but we were desperate for the win so it was quite nervous.
Philbert Fox Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 is he employed then? oops Yea and he's a lot more in form than the Swedish Dinosaur that we're getting
Kent Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 In all I'm happy at the performance although let's be honest it was against a frankly poor (for 70 minutes) S****horpe team. Expected a win and delivered, nice one.
