TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 BBC Radio Leicester understands that Derek Fazackerley will be Sven's assistant at Leicester City. #LCFC Powell to stay as coach. Thoughts? I Wanted Chrissy P & Mike S to be svens assistant
Salieri Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 wasnt he his right hand man at Man city? He was defo at Man City whilst Sven was there, i thought he was a scout but i could be wrong.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I still think Tord will be here in some capacity, don't think he's ever not been involved when Sven has been at a club.
davieG Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Hasn't he been at some L1 team Huddesfield or Hartlepool i'm sure it began with an H.
Fox You Forest Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I still think Tord will be here in some capacity, don't think he's ever not been involved when Sven has been at a club. That's what I was thinking, possibly out looking for new blood or something.
Guppy Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I still think Tord will be here in some capacity, don't think he's ever not been involved when Sven has been at a club. Wasn't he a scout or in a similar sort of role at Notts County?
CupidStunt Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Hasn't he been at some L1 team Huddesfield or Hartlepool i'm sure it began with an H. according to wiki, he is first team coach atm

I Wanted Chrissy P & Mike S to be svens assistant looking at his biog online im open minded. hes worked with sven at man city, been at some good clubs. my only reserve about the news would be that he was a defender. we have powell who i think the players relate to easy and to an extent see him as a team mate still which would surely work better for sven to have him as his number2???
dandannieldanok Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 my only reserve about the news would be that he was a defender Why would you have a reservation over that? From an old BBC article: "The Newcastle boss (Kevin Keegan) has in the past praised Fazackerley for his organisational skills and an ability to guide players defensively." Given the way we've defended so far this season, that ^^ is very good to hear in my opinion.
Jackirius Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I would think Tord would be thinking about retiring or already have by now....

HankMarvin Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Foxy Sven Goran Eriksson snags Derek Fazackerley as his assistant at Leicester Oct 3 2010 By Alan Nixon, The People Add a comment Recommend Sven Goran Eriksson will team up with Derek Fazackerley as Leicester City’s new management double act. Faz worked with the Swede for England and at Manchester City. He quit as Huddersfield coach last night to hook up with his pal again. Eriksson will take over at Foxes on a £1million-a-year deal plus a massive promotion bonus if he takes the club up in his two-year spell. He arrived at the Walkers Stadium to see City’s 3-1 win over S****horpe yesterday, and said: “I’ve been away for a while but England is England. “I’m here to see the game and then we will see what happens. I’ll know more about Leicester after the game.” Fazackerley is a key capture because he can coach, leaving Eriksson to pick the team and chase transfer targets. The experienced figure has been helping out Lee Clark at Huddersfield but will be allowed to go.

wurmer Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 strange comment It's how Sven works - not a tracksuit manager.
City Lad Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 We knew this already surely? Sven takes on tactics, his staff coach the team. Its very simular to MON's style also. The theory is that if you see the manager less, when he does turn up to training the players perform better to impress him.

yorksfox Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Huddersfield Town season ticket holder here (and life-long Leicester City fan) I'm afraid Town's defending has been pretty crap this season, in fact our defence has been the weak point ever since Lee Clark took over 2 years ago, ably (or not) assisted by Mr Fazackerley. Still, he obviously did okay in his previous jobs so hopefully he'll come good again at Leicester. In Hobbs, Morrison, Berner (and Weale, when fit) we have the core of a defence that should not be conceding many.
