Finnegan Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Kath-rine. I'd personally say cath-rin but the locals apparently disagree.

Libertine Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Scudder. And I live just off of it, so therefore I am right.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Scoo, as in the cunt who runs the Premier League. Isn't that where the RSPCA centre is? Vaguely remember going there to look at rescue rabbits when I was a littl'un.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 It's definitely Scoo. Scud sounds like the way that someone not local would pronounce it, like the Grow-bee Affair.
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 It's definitely Scoo. Scud sounds like the way that someone not local would pronounce it, like the Grow-bee Affair. Roth-lee. I'm Not From Arand Eer, I say Scudder.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Hoe-ton How-ton Stoe-ton Stow-ton. Leicestershire is like one great big Dr. Zeus paradise.
h1210 Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Still makes me smile every time my girlfriend says Saffron Lane (as in the spice). Definitely gives away the fact she's not a local.
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Still makes me smile every time my girlfriend says Saffron Lane (as in the spice). Definitely gives away the fact she's not a local. What, how do you pronounce it then? Unless you just mean because you call it The Saff.
StanSP Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 What, how do you pronounce it then? Unless you just mean because you call it The Saff. You pronounce it Saffron, like Saffron, like the spice, and any other Saffron there is Bloody hell. I've written that/looked at it too many times. Now it looks weird.
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 You pronounce it Saffron, like Saffron, like the spice, and any other Saffron there is Bloody hell. I've written that/looked at it too many times. Now it looks weird. Well exactly... I have no idea how else you'd pronounce it... Like I said, I can only assume he means because nobody ACTUALLY says "Saffron Lane."
Webbo Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Thinking about it I always pronounce Belgrave as Bellgruff. I'm not sure if that accent or just sloppiness.
m00nie Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 What, how do you pronounce it then? Unless you just mean because you call it The Saff. maybe saff ron instead of saff run/ ren.. ??
