Matt Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 That was the of the best days ever. The team running over and doing the sprinkler infront of us, priceless! Is it true they were letting people in for free this morning because it was obviously not going to last much longer?! I left Melbourne to go up country for a couple of days this morning but was listening to the radio on the way and sure they said something about letting people in for free, I was destined to stay away from the MCG for this test!

dwarner078 Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 The Ashes is a series of test cricket is played between England and Australia. It is the most famous rivalry and international cricket back to the 1882. A series of "The Ashes" contains five test matches. Recently, Britain has a good chance to regain the Ashes.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Is it true they were letting people in for free this morning because it was obviously not going to last much longer?! I left Melbourne to go up country for a couple of days this morning but was listening to the radio on the way and sure they said something about letting people in for free, I was destined to stay away from the MCG for this test! I think it was free today cos it wasn't meant to last long. Where in the country did you go?
FoxyPV Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Thoroughly deserved win. England has been the far better team. Congratulations
Matt Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 I think it was free today cos it wasn't meant to last long. Where in the country did you go? I'm currently in Beechworth, we mainly just went for the country drive, stopped overnight, back to the City tomorrow as I've never really seen any 'country Australia' only Melbourne City, abit of Queensland/Brisbane and abit of Sydney.
Matt Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Not that I know of! If this is true I want my money back!. Some images of today And me getting on the National news I think they were giving refunds if it lasted 28 overs or less.
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Battered the Aussies in their own back yard!
dhermon Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 great to see so many leicester fans at the MCG yesterday, also some at the melbourne victory A league game the night before At the Melbourne derby had some greek guy lean over grab me and yell LEICESTER !!!! THEO !!!!! Theo is now president of my club !?!?! Had 1 guy notice my leicester top while in the toilets at richmond train station and another guy notice it while at the pizza shop next to train station
dhermon Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 The Barmy Army are sounding good today. About bloody time they sounded good didnt hear or notice them on days 1 or 3 which i found very odd as last time your mob was out here they were the best part of the day by a mile !!!
Corky Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Well done to the England team, thoroughly deserved over the four Tests so far. 2010 has been a tremendous year for English cricket on the international stage.
BoneDog Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 I'm currently in Beechworth, we mainly just went for the country drive, stopped overnight, back to the City tomorrow as I've never really seen any 'country Australia' only Melbourne City, abit of Queensland/Brisbane and abit of Sydney. While you're there you should pop to The Black Mountain for an afternoon to try and catch a glimpse of The Queensland Tiger.
isaidno Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 I've gone for England 3-1 at 10/1 and Cook top run scorer at 14/1. Really fancy England this series , I think the fact that Broad & Swann can bat a bit aswell will play in our favour. Looking good. Cook's 52 runs ahead of Hussey. Just need England to win the last test match
purpleronnie Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 About bloody time they sounded good didnt hear or notice them on days 1 or 3 which i found very odd as last time your mob was out here they were the best part of the day by a mile !!! I read that a lot less travelled because of the economic situation, but with all the brits over there I expected more. Especially after things we're going our way.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 Anyone else see the stupid dance they've all been doing? The Sprinkler... G'won Mushy. It's a dance they've been doing for the test.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 I read that a lot less travelled because of the economic situation, but with all the brits over there I expected more. Especially after things we're going our way. Yeah only 15,000-20,000 fans travelled to Australia opposed to the 40,000 during the last test over there.
purpleronnie Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Yeah only 15,000-20,000 fans travelled to Australia opposed to the 40,000 during the last test over there. So your saying they just weren't as noisy. Or aren't you being facetious.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 I think you've got me confused with dhermon. I never said they weren't noisy. In fact if you read back I was praising the Barmy Army. Thought they were fantastic yesterday although I doubt there were any Aussies in the ground
purpleronnie Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 I didn't know if you 'only 15-20,000' comment was a sarcastic one or not. Seems it wasn't.
ACF Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I think they were giving refunds if it lasted 28 overs or less. Im gunna go get my money back then!
dhermon Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Have heard the same thing about less coming over this year due to the value of the pound vs dollar Shame really as i love sitting near the barmy army all the singing and beer its just infectious + it pisses off a few of my hardcore aussie mates which pleases me no end as im one of those rare aussies that enjoys watching our cocky lot get their arse spanked
