stivesfox Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 How anyone could boo is laughable, had not been for this guy we would have been right up shit street. Okay he made mistakes like any human being, does any think he wanted to endure league one he spent a lot of his own money and could have gone at anytime, he stook with it and repaired the damage, I am sure he regrets certain decisions he made but two sides to every story, I was annoyed when Allen, Megson he could not stop who was offered a job in Premier league Holloway he gave him money and the opportunitys, In Pearson he got it right, but still put his hand in his pocket, granted relegation season he was open to knee jerk reactions and not giving the club the time it needed that season. Applaud this man one he gave us a platform, he came back and made it happen, okay 3 years to get out of championship we went wrong way he put his personal wealth into the club to get us back. He has sold us I think to good people who want to take us to next level, thank you Milan you were a plumb but a saviour too, and good luck at Sheff Weds!!!

From what i remember before Mandaric took over the club we were on a downwards spiral always near the foot of the table... albeit we arent exactly at the top of the table now but atleast there seems a bright future for our club and a chance to continue the ever present optimism. If it wasn't for him i could honeslty see us being in the 3rd tier the way we were heading. Its almost like he was temporarily in charge and just warming the leather suite for the new owners to take us on the REAL journey. To the future...!
hackneyfox Posted 30 November 2010 Author Posted 30 November 2010 Now claiming that it cost him 25 million to 'get in to the club' and then a further 26 million. Lies
Bettsj2 Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 I love the way that the Pro-liar lobby have little command of syntax, grammar or sense. I hate the way the 'Hate Mandric' lobby have completely short memories. Before he arrived we were signing a coked up Shaun Newton, Josh Low and Luigi Glombard. We'd been in steady decline with regard to League position and performances on the pitch, we had a manager who's heart was in the right place but really didnt have a clue what he was doing and a board with no money, capital or balls to change the situation. Now i'm not saying that our time under Mandric was completely succesful. Obviously getting relegated to League 1 was a low point, but sometimes, you have to take a step back to take a step forward. Or would everyone have prefered us to tread water for a few more years with players like Hume, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Hammond, De Vries etc? It is laughable to suggest that without the intervention of MM, we would be where we are today (rich owners, class manager, quality playing squad). It's also laughable that all of a sudden, so many people are financial experts and can tell us exactly how much money changed hands in MM's time at the club. The only people who know the exact ins and outs of the transactions are MM, his legal team and the previous board members involved and lets be honest, if anyone claims to have info from a previous board member, is that even reliable? After all, MM came along and took the reigns amongst a wave of enthusiasm and not a spec of gratitude to those that fell before him. What I know is that I sat there at the Walkers stadium under Rob Kelly and watched us lose week after week and saw the quality of the team get worse and worse. There is no doubt in my mind that we would have been relegated eventually but with a worse team than we eneded up going down with. It's so shit that so many people can sit on a high horse and claim to know everything about everything when the reality is they cannot possibly know anything!! I re-iterate again that I recognise that MM's time at the club has been less than perfect and hasn't brought all that he promised at the outset, but it's beyond belief that anyone can say that things would have been better had he not come along.

CosbehFox Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Before he arrived we were signing a coked up Shaun Newton, Josh Low and Luigi Glombard. Says more about the manager....Rob Kelly signs Josh Low and Gareth McAuley from lower league sides, Pearson signs Morrison and Dyer from lower leagues. I suspect their wages were similar bar inflation considering that Low/Dyer's backgrounds are similar as are McAuley/Morrison's.

Pearson was also able to sign Tunchev, Gilbert, Cleverley, Davis, Hobbs. All whilst we were languishing in League 1. There's no way that those types of signings would ever have happened under Kelly.

And they all put their hands in their pockets to save the club becuase they were fans. Milan on the other hand put his hands in our pockets where they will remain until his loans are paid off.

Yes because Kelly didn't have the forevision or contacts to loan youngsters from the Premiership. I t's nothing to do with wages or budget for sure as the differences aren't that much. Andy Welsh from Sunderland Reserves for example would be on a similar wedge to a Cleverley or a Gilbert. Tunchev I'll give that slightly but didn't that come off the back of selling McAuley for a million plus? The only time I can truly think of Mandaric expanding the transfer budget without it being supplemented from a departure is the first full season under Allen and Holloway.
Mack Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Where I was sitting there were a handful of people applauding, most people had a look of bemusement on their face, including me. The Birch had been given a statement to read out, obviously drawn up by one of Mandaric's pr bods, and it was like something a politician would say. "Milan has achieved what he said he would" blah blah blah blah blah bollocks flannel bullshit.... The best of all was that the Birch's mic was not working properly so half of it no one could here hahahahahahaha... best way! He is a businessman, he plays around in football with the hope of making money, and fair enough good luck to him. But please, dont try and hoodwink us with all that I do it for the fans bollocks because most people are not buying it for a second!

Most of that post seemed to involve a lot of horse-sitting, wild speculation and ignoring fact. In fact, you discount facts as being unreliable. Are you the Pope? The financial details of the takeover have been released by the Trust, it's public domain. No one has claimed to know everything about everything, that was a ridiculous statement. You can't possibly know what would have happened in an alternate reality without Mandaric. I didn't say in my post that things would have been better without him. I believe things would have been better without people crawling up his arse and accepting every utterance without question.

I suspect their wages were similar bar inflation considering that Low/Dyer's backgrounds are similar as are McAuley/Morrison's. And who was the one that employed the right manager at the right time for us? Mandaric that's who. I agree that he was not perfect, but he came in when we were in a downward spiral and steadied us to the point where a rich businessman saw potential in the club and was willing to invest in us. Without Mandaric we would not have the owners we have today, and we would not be where we are with the players we have. Also who cares about how much Mandaric spent or took himself? He's a businessman and as the owner of the club is entitled to take a salary. He didn't take so much like other owners that it put our club into doubt, or so much that we had no money to spend on players. Bottom line is Mandaric steadied a sinking ship and has given us the chance for us to hit the big time again. He didn't make us hit the big time, he just gave us the options to do it. I'm very thankful that he came in when he did and has passed us onto someone else, and I applaud him and wish him well at his next venture.
Daggers Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 And who was the one that employed the right manager at the right time for us? Mandaric that's who. Jesus! Another one... Every broken contract cost more money adding to the debt carried over to the new owners. It doesn't vanish, it remains and is only paid off thanks to the club earning large amounts of money from somewhere. The club is running at a substancial annual loss and carries a large debt burden. The Thais get bored and piss off, or leave for any of a dozen decent reasons I could think of, the club is placed up shit street. It is not good business, it is not common sense. Who employed all of these people and then broke their contracts? Martin Allen - Manager Don MacKay - Sporting Director Lil Fucillo - Don MacKay's scouting mate who between them unearthed such great Youtube-based talent Adrian Whitbread Assistant Manager Damien Doyle - Sports Scientist Gary Megson - Manager Frank Burrow - Assistant Manager Gerry Taggart - 1st Team Coach/Manager Ade Stovell - Fitness Coach Ian Holloway - Manager Tim Breacker - Manager's Assistant Des Bulpin - Manager's Assistant Gary Penrice - Head of Recruitment Paul Aldridge - CEO Nigel Pearson Craig Shakespeare - Assistant Manager& 1st Team Coach Steve Walsh - Assistant Manager & Headof Recruitment John Murphy - MatchdayAssessment Co-Ordinator Gordon Watson - scout Gary Woods - scout Nick Bartholomew -scout Garth Butler - scout Pearson's vast backroom geeksquad Paulo de Sousa - Manager Bruno Oliveira - Assistant Manager Nelson Jardim - Coach

Pull your knickers up and dry your eyes. I countered your "He employed Pearson" with a list of everyone else he cocked up by employing, pointing out in the process why this is a bad thing. It was me disagreeing with you sweetcheeks and you're the one having a pissyfit because you're unable to counter with any point worthy of debate.
Houdini Logic Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 And who was the one that employed the right manager at the right time for us? The same guy that pushed him out because he cared more about making a quick buck than the stability and wellbeing of our club
