Manwell Pablo Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 I do have to say as one of Matty's biggest promoters during his time here, he's scored one goal on his debut, you fickel fickel lot. It means next to nothing, I believe he scored on his debut for us against Wednesday unless that was eventully given as an OG by the dubious goals panel. Means absloutley nothing. I do not doub for one secondt he will do well for Hull as I unlike alot of people think he is easily capable of around 20 a season in this league in the right setup and kept fit, but we are now in a situation where we can afford as good if not better, assuming Sven brings the right person in (not Bednar) so we should be looking forwards not backwards.
Thracian Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 I like the new Tony... I have found myself agreeing with him much more of late. I will now wash my mouth out with soap. Give yourself time, Babs!
Babylon Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Give yourself time, Babs! I think there have been some kind of hidden message in all your posts that has slowly brainwashed us all to your way of thinking!!
ajthefox Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Disapointed he's gone because he hasn't had a proper chance this season in a role that suits him, but providing Sven has a replacement who will bag goals it doesnt matter too much, the fee was fair and he obviously wanted to go so there was no point hanging on to him.
Babylon Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 providing Sven has a replacement who will bag goals it doesnt matter too much. Way too early to tell, but other people throw wild things about after a couple of games so I may as well join in. Vassell is getting 1 in 4 at the moment and I think that's better than Fryatts at this level. And most of the games Vassell have played have been out wide, when played central he scores more.

He did take his goal well though. If Hull are looking to play two strikers up front, they've got a bargain for the fee. We should have sold him in the summer for a nice fat profit rather than wasting our assets. Either way you're right though, time to look forwards and get a striker who can play upfront by himself. (Nicky Maynard when fit please)
Babylon Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 "I'm a hull badge kisser... so stop talking about me Leicester I hate you all."
CosbehFox Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 I'd be surprised if any team wins anything from Championship level upwards with Fryatt as first choice. He's not fast enough, strong enough or versatile enough. Agreed. I read a Hull fan today saying they wouldn't need another striker with Stewart, McLean, Fryatt and Simpson. I laughed, they'll need a big man soon. He'll get about 10 or so. I was a fan but he wasn't much use 'fighting for his place' and considering his scoring record, the fee looks excellent.
