MrandMrsF Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 The people critising the lad were probably there and caught up in all the hoo-haa. From a decent TV camera angle the Hull defender was a yard in front of Cunningham to get to the ball. Pause it on 11s and (for me ) he is a yard better to get to the ball first. Sorry for Cunningham but also sorry for the Hull lad to get a 3 game ban, very underserved. Come on Bruno, prove Sven wrong !!!!
ibbosuk Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 It was completely 110% unintentional, but he had to go, bit like the Shawcross challenge against Arsenal, didn't mean to harm, but did.. I must agree, I dont see any intent to cause injury our player.
Corky Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Terrific goal, ball from Wellens was perfect and that was not an easy finish. Poor tackle.
David Guiza Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Tweeted Jacqui Oatley to see if Leroy would be on football league show tonight, thought it would have been interesting to see what he said. But it's super steve anyway.

Yes there is no malice but it's a horrible challenge, a definate red and should be a 3 game ban.
Halfsy Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 how? Yes there is no malice but it's a horrible challenge, a definate red and should be a 3 game ban. ****ing hell, i know football is a game of opinion but those of you on here who are defending Liam Rosenior are absolutely moronic. This is why i never post on this forum anyway, it is full of them. I completely agree, the challenge is absolutely horrendous. He flies in, off the ground, it is reckless and very dangerous. Three game ban minimum, he's supposed to be a ****ing professional footballer and that is the kind of tackle i wouldn't expect to see in the Sunday League.
samjohnson Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Beautiful goal - Peach of a ball from Wellens and well taken volley. Ive seen tackles like that where both players dust themselves down and play on. Bit pushed on whether it warranted the red, but it was quite nasty.

Forums (football or otherwise) always have a relatively high 'moron' quota and this one is no different. Still the best Leicester City forum about.
Bert Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Look how far GC went flying. There may have been no intent but when a player's lying there with a broken leg there's no alternative. Fair play to Rosenior who was very remorseful, I wouldn't like to think how he's feeling. Let's just hope Cunninghan makes a full speedy recovery.
Jimothy Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Reminds me a bit of the Shawcross challenge on Ramsay. Whilst there's no malice, he's going in with such force any player that got in the way was going to get hurt. He's swinging at the ball like he wants to hoof it to the moon, but you can't do that if another player is coming in, it's careless. So yeah there's no malice but he still should be sent off because the tackle is needlessly dangerous.
Kitchandro Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 No it was a dangerous challenge he broke his leg therefore It warrented a red card. intention or no intention he had to go. Just because he broke his leg? To me it looked like a committed tackle which was late. Would usually be a yellow. A red card should be based on the tackle not the injury
m00nie Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Tweeted Jacqui Oatley to see if Leroy would be on football league show tonight, thought it would have been interesting to see what he said. But it's super steve anyway. blimey steve has changed alot since i last seen him
Bert Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Just because he broke his leg? T me it looked like a committed tackle which was late. Would usually be a yellow. A red card should be based on the tackle not the injury The tackle ended in a broken leg. Look for yourself, you'll see it was late, over the top and nowhere near the ball. There's no way in the world it was any less than a red.
David Guiza Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Haha I know, she is now claiming to have been told porkies! Will be interesting to see if he says anything.
hullfan3 Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Some of you are so deluded surrounding this incident it is ridiculous. First of all, well done today, we were no where near our best but you looked a tidy side and caused us a lot of issues. If you play like that away a bit more you will climb the table quickly. Now regarding the tackle, I think I would like to clear something up. First of all, there were certain events leading up to the tackle which might explain why Liam wouldn't back down. Zayatte about 30 seconds before the incident took a heavy hit to the head and went down, the referee despite appeal from the Hull players let play go on and you went on to burst into the box, then as we managed to clear it the ball was put right in between the two players, the reason he was sprinting at the ball with the intention to kick it was that he wanted to clear the ball out of play so Zayatte could receive treatment. Can I also add that Zayatte was also in serious pain and was attended to by four medical staff as well as paramedics concerned he might have concusion and was also down for a good 3 minutes. You can see Gerrard stood over Zayatte in the second picture. Now look at this first picture, Liam is clearly in his mind favorite to win the ball all he wants to do is kick it as hard as he can and isn't even aware in his mind that he will not get that chance. In fairness to your player he has unbelievable pace to get to that ball and hats off to him but there is no doubt in my mind that this shouldn't have even been a booking. as said by your fans late tackle? yea by what half a second. That's not my point though. I just don't think the lad deserves vilifying in any way what so ever. It wasn't a bad tackle at all even if you had a better view from behind a goal and thats what your mate bob said. The camera doesn't lie. Good luck for the rest of the season, you are a decent club with some decent fans now lets all get along. Hope the lad gets better and back to full fitness ASAP
Bert Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Not even a booking? If anyone's deluded here it's you. I'm sure you'd say the same if it was roles reversed. Your manager has no complaints with th red card because that's what it was.

Your manager has no complaints with th red card because that's what it was. Have you heard what your manager has had to say about the tackle? He practically stood up for our player. It's extremely unfortunate that he broke his leg but in different circumstances he would have got straight back up and play would have carried on. how can you argue with that first picture? if you are telling me he isn't playing the ball then you are a mug.
Bert Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 No-one's attacked LR here. What's the picture got to do with it? Watch the video. He was nowhere near the ball. I have no doubt he was going for the ball. Would you be saying it wasn't even a yellow if that was a tackle on your player? Doubtful. All our manager has said was that he knows there was no intent. We all agree. I don't recall him saying it wasn't a red.
Kitchandro Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 The tackle ended in a broken leg. Look for yourself, you'll see it was late, over the top and nowhere near the ball. There's no way in the world it was any less than a red. As I've said, that's irrelevant. Sorry, we all feel bad for Cunningham but it makes no difference to the decision. I've watched it and from the angle I've seen it is not over the top. Late yes. But late doesn't mean dangerous. Most fouls in a game are because it was late. Rosenior is shaping for the tackle as if he is going to get there. Unfortunately Cunningham was moving towards him and got to the ball first. Because he's moving towards Rosenior, he catches him on the leg. It was mistimed and unfortunate. A yellow card would have been fair. it was nothing like the red card the other day which was 2 footed, off the floor and over the top. Wellens was lucky he didn't break his leg there. Cunningham was unlucky. Shit happens though I'm afraid.

Get a fooking grip son! have you actually convinced yourself that! we are talking about miliseconds here, Liam was favorite for that tackle all the way as I said how the hell your player won it I will never know but well done to him. The rules state that A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play. “Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent My point is that in the interest of fairness it is obviously not a red card based on that.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 It was a red, get it over it. Whether he deserves the red or is not irrelevant, because he got the red and thats that.
Bert Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 If anyone needs to get a grip it's you. If this was Cunningham on Rosenior would you say it's not even a red???
Ozwin Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 We do get some utterly pointless arguments on here sometimes.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Would he have been able to carry on anyway knowing you'd just broke someone's leg? And also Leicester team mates would've been at rosinior all game if he had stayed on. Probably better for everyone that he was sent off. Get well Greg.
hullfan3 Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 If anyone needs to get a grip it's you. If this was Cunningham on Rosenior would you say it's not even a red??? what has that got to do with it, my point is if you showed this to a referee and he didn't know he broke his leg would he give a red, no. It was probably bordering on a yellow, i just think it's very subjective and deffo not a red. right im off to bed have fun bert you sit up all night and brew in your bitter and twisted opinions.
