Goal & Tackle

well actually a few of your fans have, did you read the thread.

nowhere near the ball???? Get a fooking grip son! have you actually convinced yourself that! we are talking about miliseconds here, Liam was favorite for that tackle all the way as I said how the hell your player won it I will never know but well done to him.

The rules state that

A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive

force or brutality against an opponent when challenging

for the ball when it is in play.

“Using excessive force” means that the player has far

exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of

injuring his opponent

My point is that in the interest of fairness it is obviously not a red card based on that.

Isn't breaking someone's leg using excessive force, and if it's danger of injuring an opponent do the rules change when he actually does injure him? Think about it.

you are missing the point he isn't tackling your player he is kicking the ball so the necessary force is going to be considerably harder. he was trying to kick it as far away as he could so the necessary force is "as hard as he can kick it" he never even took consideration that he might be tackled. and if that deserves a 3 game ban then I'm lost in this game because it's getting fooking stupid now.

I'm just curious to see whether you're biased, a coward, full of shit or all 3. Guess i'll only get to find out one. Night, thanks for the three points.

If it was a equal paced tackle, for example LR took the ball and Greg just fell/landed badly and broke his leg, well then thats tough luck. But when Greg used his pace and kicked the ball forward, sliding in always runs a risk of damage. He had to walk.

Don't be daft mate. Fair enough the injury has probably led to the card being red, but at the very least it's a yellow and some refs would have sent him off regardless of any injury to a player. Rosenior was favourite for the ball but at the last second slides in recklessly. His foot was high, the broken leg tells you that and he had to go. You should add a third picture, of course that wouldn't prove your point would it! A third picture would show Rosenior off his feet a sliding in, the opportunity to kick the ball clear had gone and it became a 50/50 challenge.

I'm not having a go at Rosenior but you can't defend him in such a way. I don't believe for one second that there is any malice in the challenge, if it's anybodys fault then Greg is just as much to blame, he got there quicker and neither player backed down, but Cunningham played the ball and Rosenior played the man. It's a red card, no question, in my opinion. Maybe it seems harsh to some as there is no intent but just because he's marginally late makes no difference, he's still late

Im sure it wasnt malicious but it was a bad enough tackle, deserved a red and at the end of the day CUNNINGHAM has receieved a broken leg out of it. Get well soon Greg, best of luck with your recovery and thanks for all you have done in a Leicester City shirt!!! :scarf:

I'm sure there was no intent, but seen as though he never made contact with the ball, and made enough contact to break the lads leg I think your contradicting your own point. By quoting:

A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive

force or brutality against an opponent when challenging

for the ball when it is in play.

I would very much doubt Greg would hold a grudge after seeing the replay, being comforted by Rosenior and knowing in football accidents like this one happen. Rosenior got sent off, which in the circumstances is irrelevant as he deserved to walk, although I'm sure if your club disagree they will appeal. I for one can not see any such appeal happening.

Now good luck for the 2nd half of the season, I hope you and Pearson's boys the best, and come on Leicester!!! :scarf:

I think he had to give a red for that challenge purely because it broke Cunninghams leg! Also is it just me or can anyone else hear the snap of Cunningham's leg on that video? Horrible. Get well soon Greg!

There's definitely a noise, but having done almost exactly the same thing myself I doubt it would be the snap you can hear, but who knows :dunno: maybe it was just the contact.

Funny how deceptive pictures can be.

If I'd had to guess from those images which player was about to have his leg broken, I would have said Rosenior

****ing hell, i know football is a game of opinion but those of you on here who are defending Liam Rosenior are absolutely moronic.

This is why i never post on this forum anyway, it is full of them.

I completely agree, the challenge is absolutely horrendous.

He flies in, off the ground, it is reckless and very dangerous.

Three game ban minimum, he's supposed to be a ****ing professional footballer and that is the kind of tackle i wouldn't expect to see in the Sunday League.

yeah. people sharing their opinions on a football forum!!

Thing is though, Cunningham was lucky earlier in the game not to obtain an injury from a challenge by James Harper.

And on that note, how did Harper not get booked all game? He was a disgrace, as well as Bullard's constant diving.

I hate everything about Hull. Pearson has a rubbish squad made up of dirty and cheating players. So glad we never got that Zayatte because he is rubbish.

Great ball by Wellens, he didn't shoot as usually urged, he took his time and stood on the ball before picking out a sensation pass. Great finish from Darius.

Rosinior

How can anyone defend him, ecspecially Leicester fans? Ok its an opinion, but he was a disgrace. You could see straight away that he went over the top and I even think his stoods may have been showing.

And Hullfan3, what are you on about? Only a booking?

The sending off didn't make to much difference, you never created any chances as appose to our chances when several of our players should have scored.

Hull's team is dirty and several players are cheats. Pearson has a real job on.

We do get some utterly pointless arguments on here sometimes.

No we don't

hate to say it, I do, but the tackle doesn't look that bad at all to me, very unlucky. some people are blatantly biased of they think it was "horrendous". he has one foot on the ground, he only caught cunningham because he nipped the ball away, no studs showing. I hate with a passion, these modern, two footed lunges from in front a player, connecting just below the oppositions knees, but this definitely wasn't one.

And yet there are four bullet holes in Greg's leg, explain that! <_<

Seriously, bad luck for Greg, but Rosenior conducted himself with dignity afterwards.

Vassell's goal was cracking... I'll lay off criticising him for a while.

To suggest it wasn't even a yellow is deluded hull fans. But I agree, if Greg was fine and got straight up then it would of probably been a yellow.

Brilliantly taken goal. I cant believe it went in off the bar though! Never usually happens for us.

Cunningham's challenge wasnt the worst I've ever seen but it was reckless. Think it had to be a red really, hope Cunningham gets well soon.

pause it just as Cunningham touches the ball. Rosenior's foot is on the floor, level with the ball.

I've seen it a number of times and there is now way the tackle (it's the tackle, not the injury remember) deserved a red card.

If one of our players was sent off and banned 3 games for that I'd be a bit disappointed.

It's a shame the game isn't played in slo-mo then eh.
