Bugg Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Went on to play champions league football... And an international vs England
MikeyT Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 I don't think so. Jekyll and Hyde games against Man City and Preston.
acooling08 Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 I don't think so. Jekyll and Hyde games against Man City and Preston. Sounds like the equaliser was Bamba's fault.
MikeyT Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Sounds like the equaliser was Bamba's fault. Indeed. Missed the ball completely by the sound of it.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Bamba today would almost certainly not have been as bad as any of our defenders away at Portsmouth. And if we're talking about mistakes costing goals, look no further than Hobbs + Morrison away at Millwall. Cut Bamba some slack.
Jimothy Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Sounds like the equaliser was Bamba's fault. Indeed. Missed the ball completely by the sound of it. Sound being the operative word. I'll leave judgement until I've seen it.
MikeyT Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Sound being the operative word. I'll leave judgement until I've seen it. Thats why i said sounds, and not definitely was his fault.
Stevosevic Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Just seen the goal on SSN. Didn't look like Bamba's fault, he went up for a header with his man and Hume was completely unmarked, i guess he was Hobb's man?
Kitchandro Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 The people who went to the game prove how useless Stringer and Youngy are. I still like them though.
Hibernian Fan Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 So to conclude, Bamba had a good game and although the goal was not entirely his fault, he could've done better?
Kitchandro Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 So to conclude, Bamba had a good game and although the goal was not entirely his fault, he could've done better? He got beaten to a header, but it was mainly Hobbs' fault. So yes he could have done better because he could have won the header. But I wouldn't blame him at all.
ibbosuk Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 The people who went to the game prove how useless Stringer and Youngy are. I still like them though. Why should the "Peoples" opinion carry any more weight than Ian Stringer and Alan Youngs ?? Everybodies entitled to have an opinion and they say what they see. They are my eyes in most away games and I think they are doing O.K.
MikeyT Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 So to conclude, Bamba had a good game and although the goal was not entirely his fault, he could've done better? Think that's probably a fair assessment.

Everybodies entitled to have an opinion and they say what they see. They are my eyes in most away games and I think they are doing O.K. Like I said I like them, but the majority of people are saying the opposite of what Stringer and Youngy were saying, which leads me to believe their opinion is inaccurate (at least in that particular instance)
Rocky Dennis Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 I don't think so. Jekyll and Hyde games against Man City and Preston. I assume you were not at Deepdale? If you're saying that he was good against Man City but poor against Preston then im afraid you are wrong, probably played better yesterday if anything! Without having access to the official match stats I reckon he missed one of about 30 headers, he dominated his marker and looked very comfortable on the ball, all opinions I know but I myself would not come out with a quote like yours had I not been at the game in question.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 According to NOTW, he scored an 8 and I've also heard he played well again. Every mistake we make leads to a goal and I genuinely think we've had no luck this year. The Chavs, according to one of their fan, apparently have been truly awful all year and he classes his team as being lucky this year so far and only Westwood has kept them in some games.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Every time I've seen them on TV and when we played them they've been absolutely shocking. We have had little luck this season, maybe those penalties against Sheff Utd and Doncaster were fortunate but that's about it. We were robbed of a goal or a penalty in almost every game when Sousa was in charge (that's not to say he wasn't useless though!)
stripeyfox Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I don't think so. Jekyll and Hyde games against Man City and Preston. The new Junior Lewis? Let's hope not...
dpjfox Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Iwas at the game on saturday, couldnt believe my eyes/ears when i heard pundits/fans on radio/ft saying Bamba had a bad game !!! Ask any of the 2k fans who were there almost constantly chanting his name. OK he didnt score or go close but he won 99% of headers hewent for 100% of every tackle he went for, was faster than any of their forwards, looked cool, comfortable good going forward ie CLASS if he keeps this standard up he will be a cult hero, along with Yak. Only Wellens superb performance took the MOTM award from Sol 250k? a steal!!!!! Feed the yak and he will score, youll never beat sol bamba

Jacnah Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Tweeted earlier today to say he was out watching kids Sunday league football. Really can do no wrong I was told by somebody at the game yesterday that Sven has been around some of the local clubs as well.
