RGFox Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 He was OUTSTANDING. Seems very solid, built like a brick sh*thouse! Very potent at corners, could've had a hat-trick, let's hope he keeps that form up! Must be a record for a debutant goal scorer?
Hibernian Fan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 My favourite thing was the offence he took to parenthesis. Who could hate the humble bracket? From what i have heard and seen on the highlights, and obviously seen over a few years while he was at Hibs. I think Bamba would be better in midfield, We know he can tackle, intercept play, and generally pass the ball and keep it well. But does have an odd error in defence. Plus with his aerial ability he could get forward from open play. So would you guys prefer him in centre mid or enjoying him as a centre back?
Daggers Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 bugger off he left you lot and had a great debut so honestly f off with ya parentheses and ya shite talk I believe someone just found your missing chromosome and handed it in to the 'Lost Property' thread in General Chat.

MikeyT Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Aye, Mancini doesn't miss much (unlike Joe Hart). How tall did Bamba have to be to score that opening goal? He didn't have to be tall, he tapped it in with his foot.
Daggers Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I love being a Leicester fan! We can tell if a player is shite before he's even kicked a ball but we can also tell if a player is a world beater after 1 game! I'll reserve judgement on him until I've seen him a few more times. Don't get me worng, he had a good game. I don't think he could have wished for a better debut, and I was very impressed with him, but I'm not about to name my first born after him. I remember after a certain match against Cov a few years back. Everyone thought we'd found the Hungarian Ronaldo, look how that turned out Like I said, I was very impressed with him and I hope to see more of the same in the future, I just don't get the all this bumming him But...but...that's not the Lestoh way. You should be phoning RL demanding he is selected for Ingurland and that he's given the captain's armband.
Dub Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 My favourite thing was the offence he took to parenthesis. Who could hate the humble bracket? Oh sh*t, I used parenthesis in my previous post. I hope I don't get pulled up for that as well. Perhaps he was thinking of this one though
MikeyT Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 From Stringers Twitter: Sol Bamba's 1st touch goal for #lcfc was the quickest in the club's history at 45 secs. Beating Archie Gardiner's 90 second effort in 1934

It's possibly the only area of our side that deserves to be called "very good." Yuki Abe and Richie Wellens are both small guys and will both end up getting muscled out from time to time, as was evident yesterday for Milner's goal. But I don't think that's a big enough flaw for them to be replaced given they're both very clever, very busy workers and Sven does't really have a track record of favouring brute force over a footballing brain. Moreover, I think Bamba's immediate inclusion at centre back for our biggest game of the season to date is a clear indicator that that's exactly what he was signed to do given he arrived as Morrison was heading out the other way, Davies' future is uncertain and I have a sneaking suspicion Ben Mee will spend more time at left back than in the middle. Conclusion? Really doesn't matter what we'd prefer, I'm sure Sol will be at the back for the vast majority of his games. And that suits me, really, I think it would be entirely harsh at this point to be replacing either Abe or Wellens and it would be suicidal to drop King, certainly until somebody else gets on the score-sheet with any frequency.

shen Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I take it that means, quickest ever debut goal, not quickest ever goal? Stringer maybe got it wrong anyway as the stats on wiki show Gardiner made his debut in 1943. I don't know if he means quickest debut goal or quickest 'first touch' goal though Quickest goal was Fryatt scoring after 9 seconds a few years back
Finnegan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 He certainly doesn't mean quickest goal. Fryatt against Preston was faster than that.
Hibernian Fan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Quickest goal was Fryatt scoring after 9 seconds a few years back And i thought that Stokes' 12 second goal last seaosn for us was quick.
cc_star Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 It was quickest debut goal, not quickest goal overall
Finnegan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 And i thought that Stokes' 12 second goal last seaosn for us was quick. Shame about Stokes going to Celtic. Hibs would have a monster side if they had the financial clout to keep half their players. And aye, it was pretty much straight from kick off - one pass straight through their defence and Fryatt tucked in from a slight angle in the box if I remember correctly. I was at the other end of the ground. We were shit for the ninety minutes that followed.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 within half an hour of kick off he was already a cult hero with me. The old vin diesel/chuck norris/mr t/george elekobi jokes came out as well. Sol Bamba was hit by a fully loaded express train the other day. He was the only survivor.

BoneDog Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Sol Bamba doesn't use chat up lines. He just nods and says "Now".
Haydos Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Sol Bamba once lead a horse to water. And made it drink.
Bugg Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 There used to be a street named after Sol Bamba, but it was changed because nobody crosses Sol Bamba and lives.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Before everyone gets over excited by one performance - can anyone remember this guy??? (The sporting legends website I got it from must have been being ironic)
Stevosevic Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Man he was good in that game. Before everyone gets over excited by one performance - can anyone remember this guy??? (The sporting legends website I got it from must have been being ironic)
