Samilktray Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Tonight I will stay up for the whole game. I'm quite excited by all the Yanks on SSN shouting and being corny n stuff, bless um. BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW
CosbehFox Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Er, pardon my ignorance (on both American Football and betting) but you're all claiming the Packers are the underdogs but are they not the bookmakers favourites? Edit: in fact, here you go. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/american_football/9387441.stm http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-01-24/packers-favored-over-steelers-in-closest-super-bowl-spread-for-27-years.html And it's not like the Packers are a "little" team either. To use a footballing comparison, Pittsburgh are Manchester United alongside New England whilst there's a romance about Green Bay due to it's location, Favre and all that.
lcfcadam Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 We have over fifty bottles of beer, burgers, hot dogs, veggie equivalents, snacks, muffins and fizzy drinks in the flat. Doing this proper americana style, even though none of us could give less of a shit about american football...
Jordan Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 With the two teams so evenly matched, I can't see the difference in this one being any more than one score. Although Pittsburgh has the edge in experience, I think Green Bay has more weapons on offense--not least Aaron Rodgers and his great arm + ability to scramble--so I like the Packers to edge out a close one (with a score that will win me money in my Super bowl pools, I hope). But now that I've typed this, you can cue up a Steelers blowout.
Mee Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I've never sat and watched a whole game on NFL. So, i'm going to route for the 'Packers'. No reason why, but i just am .
Jackirius Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I've never sat and watched a whole game on NFL. So, i'm going to route for the 'Packers'. No reason why, but i just am . Steelersssss :scarf:
lildave3 Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I've officially made my decision on who i'm tipping....Steelers. Not fussed who wins, looking forward to it though.
General Smuts Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I'll be rocking what's become a tradition. I'll stay up for the game with beers and doritos and support the underdogs. Come on the Packers. Got the doritos and the Stella. LETS GO (FUDGE) PACKERS! I actually think Steelers will win cos Roethlisberger is a monster, EDIT: Hes also a massive rapist. So hell definately win.
Jackirius Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Anyone here all the fans start booing when G Bush came up on the screen
ScouseFox Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Loving Jake Humphrey changing how he says the word defence to de-fence. Proper American.
ScouseFox Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 As someone who understands FA about this weird game, what's the importance of the toss?
ajthefox Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 As someone who understands FA about this weird game, what's the importance of the toss? They get to pick whether they recieve or kick at the start, but whatever they pick for the first half they do the opposite second. It can and make a significant difference, particularly with what happens towards the end of the first half.
Jackirius Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Decent start by GB. Coooome on Steelers, get some early points on the board.
