anotherharboroughfox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Robbie Savage has announced on his twitter tonight that he will be retiring from football at the end of the season. Rumours that he is taking over as Andy Carroll's hair stylist are - as yet - unconfirmed. BBC tranfer website.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Was always likely to retire this summer. All knew he was leaving Derby and now he can concentrate on all his media work.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Don't blame him, he's had a long career in football and has won a bit of silverware and played in Europe with a massive club. Not sure if he'll have a long and successful career in punditry though, I personally don't rate him on that front.

I dont rate him either. The one thing that got me so angry was on a phone in .some guy phoned up with a view,a view which savage didnt agree with.instead of saying that, he gave the bloke so much crap being rude to him telling him he doesnt know anything,he didnt play pro football blah blah.He was out of order. For £31 and his last game i hope to go to Derby and give him shit!!
davieG Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Let's hope that means no more topics for him then.
Zingari Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 i sure he''ll carve out a new career as a singer / pop star
davieG Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 i sure he''ll carve out a new career as a singer / pop star Fine, he can then be in the music forum
Zingari Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Fine, he can then be in the music forum maybe i was being overly optimistic about his chances of becoming a pop singer
cambridgefox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 THERE'S ONLY ONE LILLY SAVAGE You could do a duet with your "little saucepan"song
Corky Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 As one of our greatest ever midfielders I wish him all the best for his retirement. I'm sure he'll go quietly too.
cambridgefox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 As a footballer, yes he was great for us and we all loved him.It is only his own fans that love him because he is a wum. When he got a penalty v Derby and gave it the big un to the Derby fans i admit i loved it.But over the years he clearly has a problem with us.He would never give us credit even if it is warranted. What little i have heard of him on the radio,he is a WUM,he is always right and if you dont agree is arrogant and rude. The man was an important part of our team, but over the years those brownie points are getting chalked off,do you see the likes of Lennon,Heskey, cottee act like this.once a wum always a wum.Bring on the 12th.
purpleronnie Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Does anyone know why he turned down playing for vancouver?
Finnegan Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 You could do a duet with your "little saucepan"song As if Sav knows that much Welsh!
whitlock Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 I think he turned down Vancouver because he didn't wanna up stick his family for one year abroad and leave his pundit job.
cambridgefox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 As if Sav knows that much Welsh! iseldireg llyw yn lle hynny!
Kilworthfox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 As if Sav knows that much Welsh! Be fair most of the Welsh can't speak Welsh , Savage from Wrexham does stand a chance though
