This Sven Guy!

Who is this Sven guy then? Can't be much cop! Thought he was supposed to have good contacts. Chap's an idiot! If he was really any good, he'd have got both Torres AND that Carrol guy - and for under a fiver, nowhere near what moneybags Chelsea and Liverpool have shelled out.

Who appointed him anyway? They can't have been much cop either! If they'd had any sense, they'd have read through these messageboards and they'd have found there's loads of folks (well one or two) who could the job far better than that Sven.

You can tell that just by reading some of the things they say. They could all do the job much better than him. If they were in charge, we wouldn't lose a game, we would score loads of goals and we'd already be uncatchable at the top of the table.

It really is a pity that someone didn't have the common sense to realise what brilliant talents are being ignored and just going to waste. After all, you don't need any experience to be a football manager, Anybody can do that job. It's a dead easy job. Just turn up on matchdays, stand on the half-way line, waving your arms about. You just have to shout at the players, doesn't really matter what you shout 'cos they can't hear you anyway 'cos everybody else is shouting at the ref.

I suppose though we've got that Sven for a while now. Y'know, he has our team pretending to play exciting football and they're really, really selfish at times 'cos they never let the other team have the ball and when the other team's got it, we go and get it off them and instead of passing it nicely and gently to the other team's goalie, we blast it pass him. It's a good job the net's there or someone in the crowd could get hurt. Y'know, he doesn't do things right this Sven guy.

I wonder though!.............. I do wonder if we really would do any better if any of these 'expert' posters actually had to do the job of manager .........and.would we head straight down the .........No! It doesn't bear thinking about!

Yes! On second thoughts, I reckon this Sven guy might probably just be alright..

I have to admit it really - Secretly, I do enjoy watching us play (though I try hard to look as if I'm not) and I can't help jumping in the air, cheering when we score -'cos come to think of it, we hadn't used to score very often - but we do now don't we!..........Yes, this Sven guy's OK!

Whilst appreciating the "humour" in the original post, I think that if it wasn't for people's opinions and criticisms of Sven and his tactics and transfers this forum would be pretty dull. As fans we have every right to question our glorious leader, just as other fans have every right to defend the mighty Sven.

Things are not perfect under Sven, we have lost a lot of away games that we shouldn't have and the squad and first team has been unsettled. Undoubtedly Sven has been a massive improvement on Sousa, but just because of his name he is not above criticism and he has made mistakes.

Sven is only human, he will make mistakes. But, he's made a lot more good decisions then he has mistakes. We're unbeaten at home in 4 months and haven't lost either of our last two away games, I know we should have beaten PNE. I trust Sven to win promotion; call me naive but he's convinced me. In Sven I trust :D

Whilst I wouldn't go to the level of sarcasm of the first post I do think there are some on here (as on the RL phone in) who have a fairly unrealistic view of our football club.

Inheriting a squad of players isn't like owning a white board, you can't just scrub names off and start again. Every manager will come in, look at the personell, assess their ability and see who fits into his style of play.

All of this takes time, some he'll look at and say yes your in, others he may see something and want to give them a chance to prove themselves. Finally they're will always be the ones who don't quite fit in for example:

Sven arrives, looks at Kingy and thinks, yeah you'll do, looks at Bruno and thinks hmm not sure, finally looks at Matty Fryatt and thinks... Not quite up to scratch. All three were stalwarts under Pearson but Sven has his own style.

I think its remarkable we are where we are in the league. Given more time I'm sure Sven will do even better.

Keep the faith.

What are you on? He's been here 5 minutes and you want 100% home and away wins inside 2 minutes. You are the one 'stockyfox' was aiming his post at! Sven is the best manager this club has ever had - and that includes MO'n, and yes, I was a supporter in those days.

well ,i'm not too sure about that, although he may be our highest profile manager

hopefully in time you'll be proven correct though

I don't expect 100% home and away wins, but I do expect and will retain my right to criticise as I see fit.

I have never at any point stated that he is doing a bad job and he has been a massive improvement on Sousa, it goes without saying, but he has still made mistakes. To say that he is the best manager Leicester City have ever had is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on here, I've read a lot of ridiculous things on here. To even begin to compare with Leicester's best managers he has to at least be here for more than 4 months and have done something more than bought better players than we already had because we have had new investment, (NP did a lot more on a lot less).

He has been here longer than 5 minutes and we still don't know what our best team is, we have been tactically niave on a number of occaisions, especially away from home but even at home, despite the unbeaten run we don't look that much better than last year. A number of last year's squad are unsettled and are not sure of their places, (Hobbs, Welae, Berner, even Dyer and Gallagher now will be wondering how they will fit in alongside the Yak and Vassell), hopefully this will change now the transfer window has shut and we know who we will have for the rest of the season. His tactical substitutions have also raised questions, bringing on Howard, Oakley and Moussa against Preston springs to mind as well as some questionable starting lineups, playing Mee against Millwall, Howard against Man City, Vassell when he clearly wasn't fit. Not to mention the Bednar and Kirkland debacle.

But the most shocking thing, and this was almost unforgiveable, was to pronounce Howard the Vieri of the Championship, and actually believe it.

Apart from all that he is doing a great job, we are in a good position to mount an attack on the playoffs and we have massively improved the squad since he took over, he has been cautious but effective in the transfer market and his mistakes with loans were soon rectified. I like Sven and I think he has done a good job, but he is not perfect, and I like every other fan have a right to an opinion on this matter. Like I said if we didn't then this forum would be a very boring Sven love-in and where is the fun in that.

There are a few in here talking about the loses on the road and I don't know why. We have players not adapting to the fast play and that's what sven has shown. We needed a lot of new players and now we have a few.

The Vieri thing is a mental boost to see if Howard is up to it. :frusty: Also using the bench.

I am glad the new owners didn't listened to a few fans here talking about how great Pearsons men are.

We could have been without reinforcement and facing a relegation battle.

The flip side of this is why was Sven trying to make us play in a way that we didn't have the personel to play in. You criticising the players is no different to me criticising Sven for the defeats on the road.

The Vieri thing was a joke, I don't actually hate Sven for that, but it was a very strange comparison.

Can you see the owners invest if there'as nothing to invest in?

If Sven was trying to sneak points here and there we could've forgot about promotion. We need players that can make it happen. Pearson was good but he had to rely on good luck. Now we don't have to rely on good luck. Look at Millwall, two penaltys against us and still breeze out with a win. I can't see it happen before Bamba, Naughton, Yak, Vassell and the reborn midfield.

Sven is just what this club needed to get us back on track for the prem

Who else would have been able to secure loan deals like Yakubu!
