Things that could improve the Walkers

Recommended Posts

Just mentioning these small things really;

I really would like the pre-match music to be played louder than what it is. Every away match I attend, the music seems to be louder and enhance the atmosphere, where as, at the Walkers its quite. Also, whilst on the topic of music, I'm not a big fan of goal music. Plus, I'd also like Post Horn Gallop to be played via the PA system and not by a man blowing it out of an instrument.

Forest have fantastic loud music played before matches, maybe you could get down their gaff more often.

Whoever is responsible for the Black Eyed fvcking Peas being heard after games needs a good hour of vicious torture. Moron.

I mentioned this idea a long time ago, but I think the club should allow food & drink franchises into the concourse. Yes, it would cause a drop in profits from the clubs own outlets, but they could gain that back through rental fees. That way, you could get a better variety of food and spread it out more to avoid queues. For example, I quite like a tea or coffee at half time, rather than a beer, and it would be nice if there was a costa or AMT coffee etc that would serve me a half decent beverage. A cornish pasty stand wouldn't go amiss, neither would a sweet stand for the kids.

It might seem a bit American Arena ish, but I think it'd be pretty decent.

One other thing, I used to love the pre match build up at filbo with 'Ready to Go' by Republica. Not saying we should go back to that song, but it would be good to see something with a bit more of an aura than hey jude.

Other than that I think the club seems to manage the match day experience better than it used to.

Kind.

Seems that most of these suggestions are things that would be bottom-up changes coming from the fans rather than things the club should/want to be doing.

I agree with this really. There are little things I don't like particularly and fundamental changes like safe standing would be awesome, but it's not something the club can change at the present time.

Just having it verging on full every week would be the best thing that could happen.

The problem that clubs, the FA and government need to realise is that its more dangerous to stand up in an area that is seated rather than standing in an area that is specifically designed for it

unfortunately with todays H&S and blame culture it'll never ever ever happen

Off the top of my head .

1. Safe standing area ( although i don't agree with it my self it seems that most fans do and if thats what they wont that is wot they should get )

1.1 Don't agree with ppl saying drinking to be allowed in the stands as drunk standing and dancing around like knobs is not the best image for the club when we are on t.v. It also WILL lead to some violence or something being thrown onto the pich because it only takes one the give us all a bad name e.g Millwall's last game ..

2 Video Scoreboards , One like the one in this years Super bowl stadium would be nice but bet that cost at least a million to install .3. Better pre-match and half time entertainment ( e.g local bands , or football based competitions like a randomly picked fans for a cross bar challenge or penalty shoot out .)

4. No Goal music .

5. The large City kit they have laying wasted in the middle of the pitch pre-match be passed around the crowd

6. As many Scarves and massive flags being waved around as possible ( e.g Liverpool ground looks awesome when they sing you'll never walk alone pre-match with all that going on but with us it would be WYS )

7. Paint the floor Blue in the areas in side the ground before you enter the stands ( The term you us for it escapes me) Just way too much Grey in there for my liking .

8. Better range of beers and food .

Thats all I can think of the moment :dunno:

IMO you ruined some good points there with this one. Again for me, its too Americanised.

And as someone mentioned, the Jersey Budd version of WYS is quite frankly, gay.

At least give us the version the crowd usually sing!

Fair points only meant that as at that big screen is amazing, did not think of the Americanized aspect of it, so maybe your right

And as for WYS I personally like it but but to keep the mass of the fans happy maybe the club could do a poll or something for everyone's choice of anthem to be played Pre-match then :dunno:

The only thing IMO thats needs to improve is our attendances, dont get me wrong obvioiusly not knocking our own support, but say if ticket offers happened a bit more often we would fill the stadium more often therefore generating a better atmosphere which in all honesty usually (not always i know!!!) makes the players more up for a game and play better etc etc.

Cheaper tickets or being in the Prem

An unreserved seating section so you can sit with your mates.

ps. why wait for the club to swap the Family Stand with the Kop. Can't you just go into N Block as an individual (ie not with a kid :dunno: ). The Family Stand occupies too many seats. Move it around towards the West Stand and give the vacated block over to anyone who wants to frequent it.

N block is season ticket holders only. they made it available to all (think the first game was v cov on when MM first took over. it was good til at the end of that season they made it ST only

They do that at Hillsborough as well.
