CKB Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 You have to be joking and if you aren't please jog on. The thing is he probably isn't and thinks LB's like Alan Maybury are gods!
Jonezy Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Meh. Cov parked the bus and went extreme hoofing and we couldn't do anything about it - disappointing. Gallagher is really piss poor when he has a bad day and PVA could learn a thing or many from Naughton. Still very much in the playoff mix, heads up!
Danny632 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Eh? He was a bit erratic going forward, but to describe it as one of the worst performances you've ever seen is way over the top. He barely put a foot wrong at the back, which is the predominant task you ask of your left-back. Stop being so bloody dramatic. You're right. Getting completely skinned to allow there winger to put it on a plate for the first goal isn't "putting a foot wrong". He did well there - could have been worse, he could have murdered him on the pitch, gave away a penalty and got sent off. So I applaud him for not doing that. I'd be intrigued to see his pass completion, his only saving grace was the cross at the end for Dyer - which saved it being THE worst performance I'd seen.
Bryn Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 The team is based on pace. A deep defensive line and we're ****ed.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 I blame Jackirius also. I don't you, you are a bit of a how should i say this nicely.......welll i can't say it nicely but u are to blame
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 I managed to watch on a stream, and PVA was very poor IMO. Why change the two centre halves? And wouldn't Weale, who was in form when he was dropped, be better at organising at the back? I'm getting frustrated by Sven continuing to favour those he brings in on loan over those who already have the jersey and seem to be doing their job. Trying to keep the faith, but it's not all rosey. Game v sheff u was a defensive battle & perhaps we were lucky not to concede,, 2nd half v sheep wasnt great, game v Bristol was poor and we were fortunate. We need to keep our feet on the ground, and stop getting carried away with promotion talk. There are a lot of points to be earned, and it's gonna be hard work.
MikeyT Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 The thing is he probably isn't and thinks LB's like Alan Maybury are gods! He was a right back mate!
Danny632 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 The thing is he probably isn't and thinks LB's like Alan Maybury are gods! Maybury was predominantly a right back pal
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 We won't make the play-offs if we keep performing like we have recently. Wasted so much today, possession is constantly being given away so cheaply, and we really should've scored at least two more. The defence looked alot worse with the absence of Mee, and I like Ricardo's quick distribution but he's had his chance now. Weale, for all his faults, is a better option. I don't see why Sven keeps tinkering with a defence that was doing reasonably well. The midield, for the X game in a row, were anonymous. The one, and only positive today was Naughton. He got my vote for player of the season in another thread a month or so back, and today rammed home why. He uses the space available to him, and he's got a cracking engine. There were times today when he toyed with their defence like a winger should, and he scored a corker of a goal. Which brings me onto the wide men. We're in desperate need of some more effective wingers, or at least players that are natural in that position. Gallagher never looks the part out there, and Waghorn and Vassell are both far better in the centre. We look short of imagination on the touchlines, something needs to change. Worst performer of the day, despite all the criticism he'll get (and rightly) wasn't Ricardo. Van Aanholt has done nothing (bar a half against Derby) to convince me he's all that good. His crossing and shooting today were absolutely abysmal, and the pace he clearly has never gets shown. Rarely does he show a beaten man a clean pair of heels. Pretty much anytime you'd expect him to produce, he let down. All in all a shit performance in a game we deserved to win, only based on the fact that Coventry were even worse. It's not the end of the world given other results, but this team needs to start playing how they have been, because Burnely are coming for us, and sixth spot.
CKB Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 He was a right back mate! Who could play at LB! remember that (digs himself outta hole)
CKB Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Maybury was predominantly a right back pal I know but still would you want these kinda players over what we are bringing in at the moment?? Your comment in PVA's game being the worst you have ever seen is mind blowing as he wasn't bad at all just very erratic going forward
MikeyT Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 Who could play at LB! remember that (digs himself outta hole) Haha i don't remember that but touche!

Your comment in PVA's game being the worst you have ever seen is mind blowing as he wasn't bad at all just very erratic going forward He was giving the ball away at seemingly every opportunity, skied a glorious chance, and was majorly at fault for the goal. I stand by my comment.
MikeyT Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 He was giving the ball away at seemingly every opportunity, skied a glorious chance, and was majorly at fault for the goal. I stand by my comment. That he's worse than Junior Lewis?? Really????
Danny632 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 That he's worse than Junior Lewis?? Really???? I said not including Lewis or Oakley So, Lewis was worse. I'd probably have to throw Lee Marshall and James Chambers into that mix also.
shen Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Patrick Van Aanholt is an absolute disgrace. One of the worst performances I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in a City shirt not including Matt Oakley or Junior Lewis You're right. In the relatively few games I've seen Leicester in my life I can say that PVA is nowhere near the worst player nor was his performance today even remotely close to the worst I've seen. I find it strange how you pick on him despite that he assisted two of our best chances in the game (Gallagher - who had a 'mare - spooning it over 1st half, and Dyer's chance). The performances of King, Gallagher, Vassell and Wellens all deserve equal criticism.

Worse than Junior Lewis?? come on man!! PVA is settling in and Sven wants these kinda fullbacks.. Berner for all he did doesn't fit into the way Sven like his team to play so would you be moaning if we hadn't achieved half the attacks through PVA due to Berner just not being able to run?? Yes PVA is erratic and needs to think abit more but i'd rather see attacking football on the flanks and link up play then what we saw at times under Pearson, etc

But nobody was giving it away at the rate of Aanholt, especially towards the end when we were pushing for a late winner.
MikeyT Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 I said not including Lewis or Oakley So, Lewis was worse. I'd probably have to throw Lee Marshall and James Chambers into that mix also. It was a bad game for Van Aanholt but saying "it was one of the worst performances I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in a City shirt" is surely very, very far fetched and an extremely bold statement??

MikeyT Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 PVA looks like predator I don't see it. Predator PVA
