Here we go again, didn't we have all this after our minor stutter before Christmas? "New manager syndrome has worn off", "he's been sussed", "blah blah blah".

We lost one game away to a good Cardiff team, and drew at home to coventry, spurning enough chances to win about 10-1. Suddenly it's all doom and gloom again.

We have not been playing great of late, even a couple of our recent wins were barely deserved, as a playoff contender we are coming up against teams prepared to give us a real fight and we are not quite up to it.

Whether that is because a few of our players are tired or because they are simply not physical enough is open to debate, whichever it is it needs sorting, and soon.

I think Sven is well aware of the issues and is trying to 'freshen things up' but the players at his disposal are young and inexperienced, more importantly they are not yet playing as a team.

Thinking optimistically, it is good that we are having a dip in form now, it gives us time to recover and put in the kind of end of season run that will put us into the playoffs.

I think I do share your reserved optimism (that shines through in between your lines here and there).

BUT... as for the blip part, I'd say we've now had about three-and-a-half games where we didn't play up to our standard.

Mind you, I don't expect us to play "liquid" (sic) football week in, week out.

But maybe they really were too tired to pull in another extra shift in the second half against Derby.

The Bristol home game we played with the handbrake on and looked very sloppy.

A couple of days later, couldn't be arsed to really exit the team bus to face Cardiff.

And yesterday was very much like Bristol City revisited.

Whether it's a lack of fitness (Sousa style) or due to our opposition trying to act more as such by coming up with a proper gameplan of their own remains debatable.

Or maybe it's a mixture of both.

All in all, it wasn't a bad game from us, we created some good chances that we should have buried (Yakubu, Bamba should have scored), but at least we created them.

Defensively, I'm not sure why Sven tinkered and I'd like us to build a settled defence. We need to focus on keeping a clean sheet, as I don't think we've kept a clean sheet at home since November, which is a bad record and will stop us getting into the playoffs. I think this is what cost us the three points today.

I would prefer Weale to Ricardo as I thought Ricardo should have made the save for the goal. However, the whole defence was a mess for the goal, with Bruma giving King far too much space, Bamba going to the near post and Van Aanholt not stopping the winger.

No, sorry - King was excellent yesterday

Agreed, just looked very rusty in front of goal. His movement was far too clever for us. Bamba and Bruma just couldn't mark him.

Babylon, the reason I said sussed is the past three games; the same tactics have been used, close down our midfield and we begin to struggle. The performance other than the first ten minute reminded me a lot of Millwall away where we just passed around far too slow, they got stuck in and when we got easy chances, missed 'em.

all u lesta fans on here whingeing on about how you mised lots of chances and should have won are surely wearing blinkers. we missed a sitter just after our goal and then hit the bar and should have had a pen and yakubu should have been sent off for leading with his arm on westwood and anyway why dont you go on to the skysports scorecentre website and take a look at the recorded stats for the match.

cov attempts 8, lesta 5. possession cov 55%, lesta 45%.

Dear God, please learn some grammar.

Overall not a great match and the inbred chants by the scum were pathetic. Anyone hear about some of their fans doing some damage near the train station yesterday morning?

On the pitch, i think our performances are slipping badly and some of the players are of need of a rest before the QPR game.

Disappointed to only take a point, this was a crucial match with two huge ones on the horizon.

Started brightly, then gave away a poor goal. Coventry then had a spell of domination where we could barely get out of our half, but as the game wore on we gradually took control, Yuki had an opportunity before Naughton scored another beauty,

Second half we started promisingly and Yak and Bamba nearly gave us the lead, Van Aanholt had a couple of chances and Dyer nearly won it at the end, frustrating that the game ended as a draw.

I don't like him but Marlon King had a great game yesterday, with Kyle Naughton being our best player.

Disapointing but I didnt think we we're that bad yesterday, we just weren't clinical enough. The Yak, Gally and Yuki all guilty of missing easy chances.

Never thought we'd lose the game, Cov just trying to make something of second ball after there HOOF. Piss poor football no wonder their crowds are shite.

Anyway at least we creating the chances on another day we could of had 4 or 5.

Season isn't over by a long way and is going to go right to the wire!

Bring on QPR

Was 60% 40% on a league app to Leicester. 11 attempts for Leicester and 9 for cov. Sit down shut up. No one wants you as a local rival.

I can't be bothered to do a whole match report, and loads of other people have done that anyway, I just want to make a couple of points.

Firstly, I thought Marlon King was just very good today, it won't be often we come up against someone as good as him (yeah, he's a ****, etc etc). He took Bruma apart, but

I'm not overly worried about that really. Won't happen often, if at all against anyone else. The defence seemed shambolic for the first 20, but individually I think they're all good players - likewise Mee, Berner, Hobbs - but the problem is constantly changing it. If I could be arsed I'd check through to see how many different combinations at centre back we've had, but it must be at least 10. I think the positional problems come from not knowing where each other are. I'd like him to pick Bamba + Mee/Bruma and stick with it now.

The Ricardo stuff is just bollocks, all you have to do is watch him for 10 minutes to realise why Sven wants him ahead of Weale. His distribution is very good, he recycles possession quickly and is far, far better than Weale at that. He flaps a bit and could dominate his area more, but he's not as bad as some of the ****** have been making out.

Finally, the reason we didn't win today was poor decision making in great positions, and ridiculous finishing. I really

can't see that happening too often from now on in. Someone is going to get an absolute caning at some point. Everyone chill, we're 2 points off the playoffs with loads of games to go. Forest, QPR & Norwich are tough games, but that leaves 8 or 9 very winnable ones. We'll be fine.

God bless a man who speaks with so much sence. Can't agree with you more

Disappointing because Cov did seem very poor but at least chances were created. We have to be prepared for teams to come at play 'ugly' football here.

4 points from the next 2 games and we'll be talking about top 2 again though

I agree with alot that is being said but he should of done better on saturday against the effort he let in, so all in all if he keeps making poor decisons and cannot stop efforts as thus then I thinks it's fair he gets criticised, and vice versa when we see the guy pull off some magnificient saves.

thought yakubu was very lazy

we wasted chances at almost every opportunity

it was one of those games where you knew you wasn't going to win no matter how good you played or how many chances you had

very frustrating

i think :sge: needs to start looking at maybe a 4-4-2 formation

needs to play weale, mee (at left back instead of PVA) and waghorn or vassell up front with the yak

problem being we don't have anyone who can play right midfield, 4-4-2 is not an option with the players we have.
