Here's another: Leicester 7th - Cov 17th I'm sure at the end of the season when we're looking back on a campaign that's turned around dramatically in our favour, now having one of the most knowledgeable managers in the game in charge, owners willing to pump money into all aspects of the club left, right, and centre, and are looking forward to a season in which we'll probably be in the shake up again, you'll be reflecting on another season of bottom half mediocrity with an uncharismatic bell end at the helm and a woman beater up top (if he's not sold), safe in the knowledge that you held 55% of the ball in a game you drew. I really envy Coventry fans.
lcfcsnow Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 In 3 words? Disappointing, Awful, Embaressing. What are you talking about here, because only the fans in L1 sum up those 3 words today. Jesus christ. We played well for the most part. Created tons of chances but didn't put them away through lack of final ball or finishing. It was not awful, and it wasn't embarrassing. Rewind 2/3 years if you're having trouble remembering awful and embarrassing performances.

J.Lisemore Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 We'll get nothing at QPR and we will probably grind out a draw against Norwich. We really needed to win today.

Rewind 2/3 years if you're having trouble remembering awful and embarrassing performances. May not be for you, many other or even some of the Covscum fans but for me (because of location) this is 'the' derby. Disappointing - Well it is, surely no-one can disagree with that? Awful - In parts it was. Finishing especially which you have mentioned. Embarressing - Well that is a mixture of both the other points really. As for rewind 2/3 years (And this is a positive point...in a way) it shows how far we've come.
MC Prussian Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 There's certainly worse, but today was bad. The team just didn't turn up and it was only a great individual effort from Naughton that saved us from complete embarrassment against one of the poorest away sides in this league. I saw glimpses of insecurity in the odd 70 minutes against Bristol City last week, and the Cardiff game must've gotten the worst out of them. Today was no exception and the entire team needs a good talking to. None of these players were up for it. Once more, the midfield failed to muscle their way through the opposition's half and King in particular must still be asking himself where he'd gone for the period between 3pm and 5pm this afternoon. Support from the wings through Gallagher and Vassell? You're having a laugh. Even worse a result when you consider how poor that Coventry side is. Huffing and puffing didn't get us near the playoff places, but if we continue to play this nonchalant and amateurish, we're going to stay put where we are right now. Shame really, as we do have a more than average side for this league, yet too often manage to cock it up ourselves (e.g. failing to impose ourselves onto the other team). And to the Ricardo Boo Brigade: **** you. Watch the replay of the Cov goal and don't tell me Van Aanholt as well as Bamba and Bruma weren't totally off their shoes. Onwards and upwards. You play bad against a weak side and get away with a point? That's Leicester. Now see us beat QPR next Saturday. You know it makes sense.

Where was any possible appeal for a cov penalty. Also the yak hardly led with an arm on westwood - simple collision from challenging for the ball - unfortunately keepers get far too much protection nowdays. those stats can't be right, i can remember more than 5 attempts from us (two from gally, yuki, the yak, naughtons goal, couple from van aanholt) and can't remember more than about 4/5 (woman beaters goal and shocking miss, couple of long rangers well over) for you. Are you sure you didn't read the stats backwards?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Waghorns corners are ****ing terrible.
skinnydipper Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Having watched Covscum this afternoon I now understand why the Ricoh's so empty for every home game.
Maybes Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Having watched Covscum this afternoon I now understand why the Ricoh's so empty for every home game. Aye. Hoof it to Marlon for him to run onto.
sdb Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 I may be wrong as i've not seen any of today or much of the last 2 games but i'm starting to wonder if the players/staff are thinking we're too good for this league and promotion/a top 6 place will just happen. It's a cliche but there's no easy games in this league. We need to buck our ideas up because that's 3 games in a row where we've been poor. Today was a good opportunity missed.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Having watched Covscum this afternoon I now understand why the Ricoh's so empty for every home game. Yep agreed - they were dreadful
Dylan Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Extremely disappointing result, can't afford to drop points in games like this- puts the pressure on us in the next 2 games: at least 4 points needed. Marlon King was their only decent player- just hoofed it long to him all game and he was winning most- especially in 1st half. He was their biggest threat by far, and played quite well tbf- got the better of Bamba way too many times. Their goal was all-round terrible; shocking defending the space he had in the box, and the keeping was shambolic- really should've saved it imo. Again we see a game where we dominate (especially in 2nd half anyway), but fail to convert this into goals. Naughton was fantastic today- had the better of their LB all day and scored a great individual goal. Van Aanholt on the other hand was way below par- he got into good positions with his speed, but had no end product. I wouldn't drop him though- QPR have a quick team and I don't think Berner will have the legs for them- but I wouldn't complain too much as Berner's great. As I said before, I think Ricardo should've saved their goal, however I think its disgraceful shouting 'Wealo' when Ricardo's on the pitch for us. I strongly believe Weale should be our 1st choice, and that Ricardo is shit, but if he's on the pitch for us, don't knock his confidence by chanting 'Weale'. We need to bounce back from this setback with something at QPR. It will be very tough- but I think we need at least a point- 4 pts from our next 2 is needed to get back on track.
Guest ttfn Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Marlon KIng was excellent today, man of the match. Ricardo did fine. Even caught a few balls. One dodgy punch but that's not the end of the world.
B52 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 We played great today. The moaners are up because we didn't win. We played so high up in the field so the goal for Cov had to happen. We didn't score as much as we should have...... I think Sven wants the defence to grow under pressure. Sven has set the sight on play-offs and are pushing the players to take responibility and develop under critical conditions. Didn't everybody see that our defence had to take players one-on-one. Cov defence had 2-3 players on every one of us. We still commanded them. Gallagher had wooden legs, Yak missed a few.... other than that I didn't see so much wrong. Funny though that the goal came when three players surrounded Naughton and the rest of the team missed so much final desicions.
Lcfcman2010 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Jackirius is to blame, along with all the usual scapegoats!! Too early to be writing Playoff chances off and all other scenarios. Slip up which shouldn't of happened end of. Jesus, people will be calling for svens head again soon!!! 12 games left thats 36 pts. no more needed to be said really. Too many 's on here talking shite!
ScouseFox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 No idea what ricardo did so badly today? Not at fault for the goal, that was purely PVA diving in ridiculously. We were decent, good enough to sneak a win but missed some glorious chances. Marlon King was a constant pain to our defence, he suits their hoof ball. For us, our right side looked threatening, with Vassell and Naughton looking dangerous every time play was spread their side. As for our left, dear oh dear. PVA and Gallagher were woeful. That is all.
Mikey Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Could of, and should of won in my opinion, they were shit other than a 10 minute spell in the first half after their goal which should have never come about. Naughton was absolute class, and Bruma and Bamba were solid. PVA was good enough defending, and has pace to burn but because of his pace gets into a lot of good positions, but then often wastes the chance. Oh well, he'll improve on it. Vassell was decent as well, in contrast to Gallagher who I thought was poor.

As for Bruma and Bamba I thought King had the better of them all game. To be fair to them they were often exposed 2 v 2.
MPH Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Right im just going to give up on reading this thread if this is what page 1 has to offer.... We will lose to QPR, Norwich and Forest without a significant improvement of form. Don't feel any unity or spirit amongst the team, they play like a group of mercenaries. There's still time for things to really change, but only a couple more performances like that will ensure we don't make the play-offs. Just a couple of games ago they were awesome and full of confidence.... now they are a buch of merceneries... Its because they have played so well under Sven that we are even within a shout of the play offs!!! Patrick Van Aanholt is an absolute disgrace. One of the worst performances I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in a City shirt not including Matt Oakley or Junior Lewis I was thinking you must have amnesia. Bu If you remember Junior Lewis then i cant really find an excuse for you as there are so many inbetween him and todays players.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 My views: Bright start by us, we should have been 2 up early on, Yakubu missing two good chances. They get a chance and a piece of awful 'keeping allows them the lead, we collapsed and Marlon King could have put us in real trouble had he scored that open goal. Abe missed a great chance. Finally got a goal, a screamer by Naughton which I thought would give us the desire and confidence to go get a few more .. didn't happen. Everytime the ball went near Ricardo everyone held their breath, far too casual. Van Aanholt was alright defensively but he doesn't beat his man, crosses are woeful and at the end he had a glorious chance which he blazed over in similar fashion to his 40 odd yard attempt. Everytime the 4th offical's board went up I thought it had to be Yakubu going off but unbelievably he stayed on, so lazy. Waghorn played well for the short spell he was on. Vassell did well although sometimes needs to make decisions quicker, he dithers on it. Bamba played the best I thought although the more I see that chance the more frustrating it becomes, didn't get beat all day. Bruma did well too, but I thought he was out of position and a little lucky at times. Marlon King played well for them, a constant threat and had he been a little less selfish, had a better touch or been a bit quicker he could have put us in some dangerous positions. As much as I hate Cov, give them their due they played reasonably well today, a point at The Walkers is a great point for them. Always had 2 upfront and defended well. First time in years I'd say they've played well against us. However, with the chances overall we should have won easily. The best way to look at the result is that we're 1 point closer to Leeds, ok we should've been level but at least the pressures still on them. Got to say the Coventry fans were awful, barely heard them from the Kop. Poor in numbers too, enjoyed the chant about 'They came in a taxi'. Like has been said before though, Can't criticize anyone for not turning up at £30+ for a ticket.

Maybe could have done better with the goal, it's pretty much hit him after all. Distribution was good, started a few counters. I felt more nervous about the amount of headers we were losing in and around the box and tbh I think Ricardo's become the easy target again. Dealt with high balls fine apart from 1 i think that he palmed away.
