we remember stanley Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 If Taarabt was world class mate he wouldn't be playing for QPR As for the football thats 3 games in a row now where we've had the better chances and come away with 1 point, we need to start being more clincal otherwise our playoff hopes are going to go up in smoke! 9 points for the rest of the month is a must now! Burnley and Hull play each other Tuesday so there will be some dropped points! Rodney Marsh, Stanley Bowles, Gerry Francis, Dave Seaman, Trevor Sinclair, Les Ferdinand etc etc all played for QPR, they weren't bad either.
Fosse Boy Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Do you have the likes of Chelsea & Fulham in the same borough as you, Arsenal only 4 miles and Spurs 7 miles away etc etc, but I do agree are crowds aren't all they should be. If & when we get a new stadium I'm sure we'll see attendances rise, Loftus Rd is past it's sell by date, you don't need to tell us that. Christ man, the last thing you want to do is move out of that place. Porper football ground.

Porper football ground. fosse, I afraid is in inevitable, flats & houses on 3 sides, you just can't expand it, a one bedroom flat in W12 is £200k I remember when you beat us 2-0 in the cup at our place in the 70's, a shade under 30,000, those were the days, bring back terracing. May I apologise for my earlier posts, I was a little naughty, I sure you are all a lovely bunch, even Rico.
we remember stanley Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 I DONT!! Just had a look at your fixtures, it won't be easy, but i hope you make it. Why didn't Waghorn play from the start, he looked lively, the Japanese fella played very well as well. Yakubu and Vassell are not the answer up front though.

We are a good bunch really, Just the passion overflows in different ways for some people, and i bet its the same everywhere even at QPR, It was the manner of the loss that got to us BIG time, we definitely deserved nothing less than a point and more or less gave Miller the perfect Birthday present! As for the abuse aimed at Warnock, It's been that way for years he is thick skinned and can take it! and he gives it back when he can too! You deserve to be top as the stats show so hat's off to you for having a great season! As for us sadly i don't think we will be joining you! thanks to your former employee and his terrible start we had a mountain to climb from day 1! That defeat may well knock the wind out of our sales once and for all! I hope the boys prove me wrong and I can sit here come the summer and eat my words. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season and next!
Bert Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 You sang shit ground no fans, abused Warnock, abused Taarabt who is the only world class player in the Championship, abused Kenny for the whole of the second half, abused a life long R's fan who wears a sombrero, then being little hard men in South Africa Rd after the game, you really are a bunch of whinging foxes. Oh by the way, thank you very much for the SIX points this season I still think you'll reach the play offs. Er, yakubu? If taarabt was world class, he'd have played in the prem regularly by now.
we remember stanley Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yes, Mr Sousa, thankfully a distant memory. What happened yesterday at LR was not the first time we won a game and weren't the best team, it's happened a few times. But somehow Warnock, has instilled some kind of belief in our players that I haven't seen in 40 odd years supporting the best team in Shepherds Bush. Many times going home in the car we discussed how did we win that game when weren't the best team, it is defiantly not a question of luck though, more a question of sheer determination not to get beat. We will need it in spadefuls if we reach the so called promised land
we remember stanley Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Er, yakubu? If taarabt was world class, he'd have played in the prem regularly by now. He's only 21, he can be world class one minute and an utter knob the next, but you have got to agree some of the goals he's scored this season are pretty special. If and it's a big if, if he can just learn to pass the ball at the right time for most of the time, he would be very special, even world class.
StanSP Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 World class players play world class about 97% of the time, and off-days are a rarity. I'm talking about Ronaldo, Messi and even Tevez this season. Taarabt is NOT world class.
Fosse Boy Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Agree about Waghorn. Was saying he should be starting yesterday. Let him run his arse of for an hour and if he doesn't come off bring on the old head of Vassell.

lcfc_jme Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 OK OK, but he's the outstanding player in our league by a country mile World class next year.. Interesting theory, but not the truth. Whilst there is no denying the lad has ability and potential, there are players currently in this league proven at PL level, with a few exceptionally bright talents currently playing down here as well. Taarabt is a good player in this league yes, but until he plays in the PL to the same level, he can't be classed as anything other than a bright talent.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Faint praise from Warnock. We should have won that. We have to win against Norwich.

I've seen him play the vast majority of his games since he joined from Spurs on loan 15 goals from midfield so far this season, and he has the highest assists in the league. He could have a goal of the season competition on his own. If he could cure the silly streak he would be very special

The best don't.
Callabinho Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 OK OK, but he's the outstanding player in our league by a country mile World class next year.. He is very very good, but i'd rather have Wellens on his day, He offers something that non other does in this devision in my opinion!
Karljohn Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Anyone see the city fan who was on "take me out" the other week? usually a show full of munters but she soon got snapped up, saw her before the game, , My QPR mate directed me towards the springbok boozer as he mistakenly thought it was for away fans, wrong. cockney mafia greeted us outside, is it me or do even the blokes in London look like Dot Cotton? On the pitch, has there ever been a finer tackle at this level than Mee on Taraabt? In a nutshell we are 90% of a finished article, having started the season with Waggy, Fryatt and Howard its now left to a frenzied Waggy to leap off the bench and fire high and wide but at least show more passion and grit in his 20 mins than Darius does in his 70. With Vassell weighing in with a mighty 3 goal return he's got to be on borrowed time, and as for Mr Yakubu, his 2nd half dissapearing act shows why Moyes has put him behind Beckford. Dissapointing to lose, now need a maximum return from the home games plus about 7 points away IMO to pull it round.

Play like we did yesterday with a bit more attacking vigour and energy and we should be okay!

Haydos Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Sorry, had to sign up to this forum after seeing this thread. QPR fan just wanting to voice my opinion. I think you have a right to feel hard done by, I think every QPR fan would be in agreement that we didn't deserve to win the match. But sometimes those things go for you in football. Not comparing us to a top side but you see it all the time that your Manchester United's and your Chelsea's can play badly and still win. I think you should take a lot of positives from the game, most of your team played great and your attacking options were always a threat. As for Paddy Kenny, I am sure most of you would have done the same. It's got to be hard for a keeper getting abuse in front of away supporters for 45 minutes, I am sure most of the comments directed towards him were not nice. So when we scored he just wanted to give something back. And the fact is most teams in this league including yourselves would love for him to be in your team. 20 clean sheets this season I think it is now. As for Taarabt playing badly, I am sure most players would play badly when they constantly have 2 players surrounding them the whole game and again, another player most teams in this league would love to have. And as for not being strong enough for the premiership, name a team in this league that are? Everyone has to strengthen in some way if they go up. Good luck for the rest of the season, I am confident you will make the playoffs if you keep playing the same, you have the quality in your players to make it anyway. QPR fan in peace. You played us off the park today. You passed the ball better and quicker than us and had at least four good chances during the game. Am a season ticket holder but watched it on live stream today. Best team I have seen down there this season. May be just our year. We defended stoutly and got a smash-and-grab goal. Have to say we normally don't play that poorly but maybe it was because you were dominant. No one is under any illusions about QPR if we go up. We really need to strengthen. We're a Warnock-style team: tough to break down, committed and, luckily, we have in a player in Routledge who can thread a brilliant through ball like that to set up the goal. Taraabt was pants today - he is either that or brilliant. Why Yakubu was moved over to the left I don't know. Reckon he would have scored if he'd stayed up top (assume he started and played there in first half). Paddy probably did the Shssh sign because he was being baited behind the goal by your fans (the drugs, his wife story and all that). He gets a lot of stick from opposition fans and he likes to give it large. I'd hate it if an opposing keeper did that to us but we love him down at Loftus Road because as you can see he's top drawer. Don't know the situation with your loan players but you'll do very well next season with that team and may yet get into the play-offs this one. All the best. Cheers lads, nice to see you being humble, especially considering the bitterness of some of the people on here. Didn't see it but from you and most on here it sounds like we just edged it. There's a lot of knee jerk reactions on here quick to write off our chances or expect promotion after one performance so it gets a bit boring. Like you say, that's football, you took your chance and for that reason probably deserved it, even if we were hard done by. We have the squad to get the results we need for the playoffs, it's just whether we have the mettle in the run in. Fingers crossed. All the best for the rest of the season!
ajthefox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 What did Kenny do? Was it just a sssshhh sign? If that really got to people then they should take a look at how they act. It's called give and take for a reason.

It's called give and take for a reason. If he's been taking shit for 88 minutes about it then fair play, those who are whining need to reconsider going to football matches ever again. After the final whistle he needs to pipe down though.

Taarabt, world class South Africa road; there were definetely no Green Street wannabes waiting outside the away for us, no? Give over. You'll go up, and you deserve to, but you were lucky yesterday, and that's the sign of a championship winning side.
StanSP Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 I didn't see what Kenny did but apparently he did do the 'sssh' thing and then signalled as if to keep our chins up. Didn't see it so can't really comment on it further.
