Dylan Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 yes it's all about goals scored but if we play like that we'll create plenty and if you create enough someone will stick one away. hence if we play like that and create chances we are more likely to win than we are to lose. Not really. As much as I love Waggy, he had 3 decent chances today and didn't work the keeper once. On the bright side, under Sven we've not gone 4 games without a win so our bad form usually only last a few games.
CKB Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Some people on these texts have clearly not watched this game, Yakubu coming in for all sorts of stick, thought he was one of the better players on the pitch today. They are all moronic idiots Yak was damn good i thought, so was Mee and Bruma
Guest shearfox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 No reason we cent take 9 points from the next three games. Two home matches and an away game against a side in the bottom three.
flanimal Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 The way I get it is, there isn't really anything to complain about here. It was a fairly even match, could've won it, there is no one to blame. It's not over, Norwich isn't a must win game. Play offs are easily achieveable if Leicester win maybe half their games and some of the teams (Leeds) drop points. They're not in a great position, but after the pathetic results under Sousa, finishing 9th is actually a reasonable considering.
Benmfox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Promotion is going to be tricky. Every game this season has been a must win game, they always should be. I can't believe the position Hull are in...
ScouseFox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 We did this last year aswell IIRC, didn't we lose 5 in a row in March? We'll come back now and bounce onto the top 6 To add, Ben Mee speaks a lot of sense. Seems like a sensible guy.
Babylon Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 blah blah blah... look at the table.... IF my uncle had a fanny he'd be my aunt etc... Look where we were and where we are now. The other teams had a nine game head start FFS. What's your gripe exactly? Sven? The players? The fact we don't win every bloody game?
Bettsj2 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 We were excellent today. Every player comes away with credit just got caught with a suckerpunch. Anyone who critisises after a performance like that will never be happy
1991FOX Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 I can handle your opinion entirely. Just don't agree with it whatsoever. Oakley did nothing wrong at all today to warrant some peoples responses. It seems when we lose there's always a scapegoat. Today it's Oakley's turn. I'm not a massive Oakley fan, but at the same time i'll give credit where credit's due, and as i said, he has done nothing wrong today for people to be having a go at him. Maybe saying he was 'absolute wank' was OTT. But my god did he frustrate me today, it seemed our play slowed down when he got the ball and we play better at a fast tempo. Definitely no credit due to Oakley today thats for sure but he wasn't the worst he's been to be fair
Kilworthfox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 They scored, we didn't. In short yes! I watched the game over the internet via Stream, We did have some half chances and Waghorn had 3 of them. Essentially we were 2nd best, we may have played well, but they played as well & scored. The major doifference was that they had 2 players in Routlege & Tarabt who attacked at pace & were prepaired to run with the bal, at their feet at our defenders, we never ran at them all day! We expected to win a 2nd ball from a hoof up to Yak who usually loses every header & thats not just on todays performance either. The midfield play lovely football but never actually gets anywhere. Naughton had a difficult task up against Routlege but the defense as a unit were solid. We were undone by a mistake by Ghallagher? & gave possesion away too easily, but they had alot of work to do as they were 70 yards from our goal. What they did however was a quick 30 yard pass to a clear Miller, who was chased & nearly caught by Bamba, but slid the ball in with a left foot shot to Ricardo's near post from 12 yards & he never stood a chance. Ricardo did play well today & made 2 impressive saves. It's kinda like Sven says after the game, we are a good side for this division, but where is the cutting edge? thats what is the real problem, especially if we are going to play a slow possesion game. 1 goal & point from 3 games tells a story no?

colbo68 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Oh look it's Colbo time, keeps quiet for months when we're topping the form charts. Lose away to two teams in the top three and draw at home and he's back spouting his usual bile about his everyones not good enough, we're shit etc etc etc. Since Sven arrived we've amassed more points than Leeds but you use them as an example to show how shit we are... Good one!!! simply made the point that i made three months ago... that I doubt very much that Sven will be the saviour of the club and that we will go up... my opinion on that has not changed and I have been astounded on here that there has been so much nonsense spoken about us being good enough to go up automatically etc.... the mention of Leeds was not about Leeds per se, but about the fact that they score goals for fun and that Maxi Gradel is playing very well for them...? Just listen to Radio Leicester now... as usual its full of 'fans'? who are saying we played well and shouldnt have lost... but we did, because we didnt take our chances.. Leeds did, Reading did... we didnt - fact
Dylan Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 went 5 without a win (drew v cov then lost v reading, derby, cardiff, west brom). Yes but we could afford to as we hadn't started so bad, and were always in the playoffs so them 5 games without a win meant we were still only a point or two off playoffs (if that) We do that now- go another couple of games without a win- we'll be 8-9 points off the playoffs which is a lot to ask with 8-9 games to go.
colbo68 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Look where we were and where we are now. The other teams had a nine game head start FFS. What's your gripe exactly? Sven? The players? The fact we don't win every bloody game? tell you what... cards on the table... i bet you fifty that City won't go up this season... put you're money where your mouth is?

You seem to be implying they aren't proper fans because they aren't slating the manager/the players/the coach driver/whoever for not winning away at a team that have been running away with the league (although what i've seen of them this season i don't know how) and have only lost 1 at home all season.

I agree we need to turn it around quickly if we're to have any chance of winning promotion though.

Luke84 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Sorry, had to sign up to this forum after seeing this thread. QPR fan just wanting to voice my opinion. I think you have a right to feel hard done by, I think every QPR fan would be in agreement that we didn't deserve to win the match. But sometimes those things go for you in football. Not comparing us to a top side but you see it all the time that your Manchester United's and your Chelsea's can play badly and still win. I think you should take a lot of positives from the game, most of your team played great and your attacking options were always a threat. As for Paddy Kenny, I am sure most of you would have done the same. It's got to be hard for a keeper getting abuse in front of away supporters for 45 minutes, I am sure most of the comments directed towards him were not nice. So when we scored he just wanted to give something back. And the fact is most teams in this league including yourselves would love for him to be in your team. 20 clean sheets this season I think it is now. As for Taarabt playing badly, I am sure most players would play badly when they constantly have 2 players surrounding them the whole game and again, another player most teams in this league would love to have. And as for not being strong enough for the premiership, name a team in this league that are? Everyone has to strengthen in some way if they go up. Good luck for the rest of the season, I am confident you will make the playoffs if you keep playing the same, you have the quality in your players to make it anyway.
Kilworthfox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 look at the table.... Essentially 2 wins behind Leeds, with 11 games to go, could look alot better!
Rangersfan Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 QPR fan in peace. You played us off the park today. You passed the ball better and quicker than us and had at least four good chances during the game. Am a season ticket holder but watched it on live stream today. Best team I have seen down there this season. May be just our year. We defended stoutly and got a smash-and-grab goal. Have to say we normally don't play that poorly but maybe it was because you were dominant. No one is under any illusions about QPR if we go up. We really need to strengthen. We're a Warnock-style team: tough to break down, committed and, luckily, we have in a player in Routledge who can thread a brilliant through ball like that to set up the goal. Taraabt was pants today - he is either that or brilliant. Why Yakubu was moved over to the left I don't know. Reckon he would have scored if he'd stayed up top (assume he started and played there in first half). Paddy probably did the Shssh sign because he was being baited behind the goal by your fans (the drugs, his wife story and all that). He gets a lot of stick from opposition fans and he likes to give it large. I'd hate it if an opposing keeper did that to us but we love him down at Loftus Road because as you can see he's top drawer. Don't know the situation with your loan players but you'll do very well next season with that team and may yet get into the play-offs this one. All the best.
LCFC94 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 We deserved at least a point, performance was better. There is a positive there as the set up away from home was alot better, and could help us get better away results in the next few away games!
cc_star Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 look at the table.... What's that got to do with either our performance, or my comment? You're comparing our result against runaway league leaders against Leeds performance against a team we also put 5 past. That is a twattish thing to do
