QPR Post Match Thread

As gutting as it is to contain QPR for so long and then conceed a winner, let's not blow this out of proportion.

Loftus road has been a so called "fortress" for them this season, and anything better than a loss would've been acceptable, it's just a shame we couldn't hold out. We are still in with a decent shout and have played the hardest couple of games possible in the past couple of weeks.

We can do this, just keep the faith! :scarf:

QPR you deserve to win the league in all honesty, i dont begrudge you that. good luck. Your manager is a twat though - i think the whole world fookin hates him

On the way back and will do player ratings later but Ben Mee was best player on the pitch by far. Absolutely quality at LB and took Taraabt out of the game in the first minute by doing absolutely destroying him against the boards on the side of the pitch. Quality player and will do well at LB

Vassel needs to be dropped. I can't see what he brings to the side at the mo. Waghorn worked their back 4 so much harder. Will be mildly concerned if Vass starts next game.

Agreed. Vassell is on borrowed time - he doesn't score goals which is what we are desperately lacking. He does have his fans who say that he has pace and creates space but is that really enough?

Why shouldn't Kenny give some back? He got it all game.

Unlucky today, but we're not the only team chasing the Premiership to come away with fook all.

Tuesday night is massive, Saturday could be bigger.

6 points and we're back on track.

Went to the game today; my first away match since Reading away last season.

So disappointed to lose to a last minute goal against the run of play. If QPR were to score, it should have been an equaliser cos Waghorn should have buried his chance from about 10 yards out, and not tried to lob or chip it over Kenny.

Yakubu was lazy. Walking around half the time and rarely looked threatening but for a few neat touches here and there (not sure if it was him or Vassell who nearly lobbed Kenny but that was very close). You need more than that though to make a difference. Vassell was very quiet too. I thought Yuki Abe had a good game. It was clear to see that Sven's instructions for him (and Wellens too) were to just harass Taarabt and they did do that all game to be fair. Taarabt didn't play well at all. Also, despite a shaky start from him, Mee looked alright on the left wing. If he had a bit more confidence in crossing the ball rather than looking for the short pass, we could have nicked a goal before any other clear-cut chance we had. But that's not his fault as after playing CB for a few games he was probably a bit out of place playing there.

Overall though, first half was scrappy and chances were few and far between. Second half though, we came out with more vigour and should Waghorn have scored that chance, it would have been more than deserved. Spoke to a few QPR fans on the way back on the tube and they themselves said they were lucky to come away with 3 points and that we deserved a draw at least. It was one of their poorest performances of the season too according to them.

Hoping Gallagher and Dyer start on Tuesday, along with one of Vass/Yak/Waghorn completing the front three.

Its sickening, but to be fair, i didnt think we'd get anything from the game beforehand, but after watching it, we deserved at least a point, if not more

sign of a championship table topping side though, play badly, yet still win, albeit a soft goal....get your self sent off FFS,do something!!!! i would have brought the fooker down

Didn't deserve that at all. Thought Bamba was going to take one for the team by sweeping up Miller but I was wrong. How we didn't score I don't know. We've had 3 or 4 good chances and they were just wasted. King and wellens were crap today I thought. the whole of the defence looked fairly sound.

Paddy kenny is a first class cunt. QPR didn't impress me one bit. Falling over moaning to the ref, who was whistle happy today.

I think when Taraabt went off, we thought the battle was won and got a bit sloppy. They didn't score through great play, it was our inability to not give enough support to the attack which left us getting crowded out.

Must win on Tuesday now.

We played very well, just a stupid defensive lapse that cost us. The way the QPR players celebrated at the end, they knew it was a tough game and a big result for them.

I thought Mee was man of the match for us and I hope we sign him in the Summer. Bruma and Bamba did well (defensive error aside for the goal) and Naughton also played his usual excellent self.

I was surprised at the midfield diamond but for the main, was a clever tactic against QPR I don't know how anyone can say Oakley or Abe were terrible. They were effective and stopped QPR from playing through us.

Talking of the diamond, I think it works well away from home when we want to stifle the opposition, but going forward, we lacked width leading to a number of times when our fullbacks got the ball and had no support whilst 2 or 3 QPR players closed them down and forced them back. As we were playing everything down the middle, we failed to stretch their defence, which made it harder for us to break them down.

Also to add, kenny fair enough give it back when you score. But when the whistle has gone, you could be gracious. Turning round to our fans, telling us to pick our chins up? You're a decent keeper at this level, but that's it.

Hi, QPR fan here. I would like to start by saying thank you for the entertainment reading your comments about QPR, Kenny etc :D

Kenny = top class keeper who made a 2 world class saves to keep us in the game, you wound him up for 88 mins, so he's bound to celebrate BIG.

Taarabt = would be the first name on your teamsheet

Warnock = fair play he's a willy puller, but he's OUR willy puller

QPR = Not our best performance today but when you can do that and win thats when you get promoted.

As for Leicester, one of the best teams I have seen at LR this season, do us a favour and beat Norwich on tuesday and you could find yourselves back in the mix ;)

Cheers.

Not on today's performance!

About your team as a whole though, when you get lucky/gritty wins, it's a sign of champions or at least auto-promotion contenders.

Didn't see what Kenny did at the end, but once a druggie always a druggie.

Just got back.

Agree with most of the comments on the football - can't really say much more. We weren't outplayed at all, Waggy should've done better with his 2 chances and we were unlucky to lose.

On another note - QPR fans were terrible. Absolutely atrocious. "Sing when you're winning" has never sounded more appropriate. And then the fight (?) between your own fans? Jesus... Didn't hear the far end til they scored either.

Completely disagree with the comments saying that Paddy Kenny had every right to dish it out. I know we don't listen, but the FA ram in down our throats about language and fairness etc etc etc. However, he's a professional footballer and should be above a few chants (I didn't hear anything about the coke or women, just his weight - fair enough) from a few hundred fans. Why is it acceptable in the FA's view to have him turn around and scream "**** off you ****" at one of our fans?

What, you heard that did you? sure, sure ;)

What else exactly did Kenny do than 'cheer' at our fans when they scored, couldn't see on the stream?

Apart from those actions, got to give a bit of credit to him for his performance- he made 2 fantastic saves from Yakubu's lob and Kingy's header. Near enough any other keeper in the division and they're both goals. Unfortunately, he made a massive difference.

Can't disagree with any of that.

I don't understand why people get so upset about Kenny. Yes, he's a pr*ck, but that's because he doesn't play for us. He's a character, in that he takes the abuse fairly and then dishes some back (not in an aggressive or particular nasty manner, just a bog standard bit of banter). The game needs more characters like him.

We've now lost twice to the top side in this division despite the fact that they haven't played any football in doing so.

Sums up the championship this season.

Tin pot.

I think we should be looking to storm this league next season.

What, you heard that did you? sure, sure ;)

Yeah I did mate. Sat front row, behind the goal. Anything else?

Oh and he also mouthed it again after, just so we got the message

I thought it was a gripping match where neither team could complain too much about winning, losing or drawing. Leicester impressed...particularly liked Mee and King. And actually thought Vassell looked crafty amazingly.

Some of the comments on here make it very difficult to sympathise with those Leicester fans and leave me feeling rather smug.

And as for Paddy Kenny....when will opposition fans learn that trying to bait him just makes him play better. Thanks.

Just got back. Agree with everything Bert says above, except the Wellens and King comments - I thought they were ok, particularly King.

We didn't deserve that at all, but neither did we play them off the park. It was a close game that could have gone either way, and unfortunately for us it went Rangers' way. There was one absolutely clear cut chance in the whole game - they got it and scored.

Taarabt was woeful but one swallow doesn't make a summer; the guy's a class act.

QPR diving, cheating cunnies, but then again Wellens was at it all game and we'd probably just call it "using his experience".

Kenny is a knob but he'd been berated all game by the City fans. You can't complain when he reacts like that - more fool him for being such a dick in the first place.

Thought Mee was absolutely fantastic today. I'm not his biggest fan but he was excellent.

Would like to have a good luck at the winner - suspicions of offside (I was watching from behind the opposite goal, so I have no idea really) as Miller seemed to be a long way in front of Bamba very quickly. Maybe that's just acceleration.

If we play as well on Tuesday we'll dominate Norwich. But that is definitely a must win.
