Sven losing the plot?

I be the first one to stick my neck on the line and say Sven needs to go. I was right about holloway/Kelly/levein. He's not what we need, we need someone who knows this league and who can build a team who can take us up next year. I would go with Di Matteo.

Your arguement falls flat on its arse when mentioning Sven is the same sentence as that shower of shit!

Ricardo wasn't to blame for any of the goals last night. In saying that Sven was merely stating the obvious truth.

Hackney fox-please find where ive ever put sven must go!

As for the starting 11 based on who is owned by leicester now-

Weale

Naughton

Hobbs

Bamba

Berner

Dyer

Wellens

King

Gallagher (maybe moussa if gally is injured)

Waghorn

Yakubu(if he decides to run a bit,if not then howard)

Youll laugh at the moussa bit no doubt, but there were times last night-especially 1st half- where had we had anyone who can get the ball and run we'd have caught them on the break. Something which we've been successful at this season.

Lcfcjme- ok I hear your point, yes top players playing at the top level have conceded penalties and been sent off.

Not sure how many games mee has had for us now? Say 10 for arguments sakes. To concede 3 penalties in 10 games isnt good. 3 in 10 is the type of statistic that would look good had we been talking about goals scored, not penalties conceded.

I actually spent most of the journey to the game last night sticking up for mee. He is a good player, I just think hes been pushed in at the deep end, which isnt his fault- and there we've come back to my original post.(sven)

I have nothing against bringing new players in, but meddling with the side when we were on a good run didnt make sense. It wasnt broke, why fix it? The problem is, now it is broke, I dont think sven will fix it. He'll just plough on regardless in making some strange team selections.

lcfcstu he has conceded 2 pens not 3 so stop quoting wrong facts. Your're already talking out your arse enough. Millwall and Norwich = 2 not 3.

You sir, are a complete bellend. We don't need fans like you at all.

Dear Mr. Sanchez (quoted above): Its ridiculous that you compare Sven with Holloway, Levien and others! Irrespective of how these managers have done post Leicester they haven't a fraction of the trophies that Sven has to his name. He is a manager in a different league and I agree this is a results business and if he does not delive PL next season he should go but to talk of replacing him with some yoyo manager (no discredit to anyone) is a joke and no one is laughing! BACK SVEN UNTIL YOU SACK SVEN!

Hold on. If we don't go up this season then you want Sven sacked? Seriously?

No, that isn't what I meant. I would back Sven all the way until we get to the PL...however long we take! We have to put our faith in someone and then back him until he gets us where we want to get to whether that takes 7 or 8 months (this season) or even 3 years (Thais willing). I don't think we can do better than Sven honestly I mean who is in the league above him...Mourinho, Sir Alex, Wenger (?), Guardiola..and they aren't coming here..so Sven is the best we can do (consistently ranked in the top 10 managers in all rankings even though the last ten years haven't been his best)..my point is we must back are manager no matter what! And up until the fateful day that the owners decide to sack him (which will be a disaster whatever way you think of it) we must back him fully..therefore I say BACK HIM UNTIL YOU SACK HIM! IN SVEN I TRUST..

Oh and just an after thought...this season isn't OVER yet! 2-3 wins and we are back in it..Leeds, Burnley and Forest will drop points! Don't let hope disappear so soon..30 points to play..6-7 wins (difficult but not impossible) and we could sneak in! Once the fans lose hope the whole atmosphere deflates and thats a sick feeling and ten games is too early to throw in the towel!! Dreaming of Sven's 1st day out at Wembley this May..its not over!!

Good post! Lucky I didn't rip your throat out after the way I interpreted that haha! Been pissed off all day thanks to last night! I think people are just expecting way too much from Sven. We still have a chance of play offs this season, especially as expectations are beginning to lessen already therefore the players can play with less pressure as seen throughout January and most of February. If not next season is our season!

What i would really like is for the Thais to come out and say "We back Sven, he is our man..we will bankroll the Sven Revolution in the summer..whether we are in the Championship or in any division above or below (its just a sentiment the League 1 bit!)." But that shows commitment to the cause and backing for one's own judgment and that will really rally the place..and we need that..the negativity will smother us otherwise!

Think of it Sven is on what 1 million pound a year, he was on 3.5 million/year at Mexico, 4.5 million a year for England, 2.5-3 million/year at Man City. Average premiership managers earn 2-3 times what he earns and the man is willing to make a commitment..I say tie him down for a 3 year deal now (it will be better for the club than negotiating with his agent either after we get to the PL this season or next or when mid-table PL clubs come calling for him in the summer!) I'm certain Sven won't leave us if he gets the backing from the Thais as promised, but if feelings there change..things could become messy! The publicity and in-turn the money the club makes by having such a high-profile manager is again something worth considering, ofcourse this is only a bonus..the fact that he has won nearly 30 trophies in his career is the crux of the matter!

Don't give up on this season so soon..stranger things have happened (most recently to us from 17th in the table to 6th in a month and a half or 2)..KEEP THE FAITH!

3 penalties in "10" games:

The first penalty he conceded came in the first 5 minutes of his professional career - maybe nerves got the best of him and the adrenaline / rush of blood made him commit to a tackle he knows that he shouldn't make and hasn't done since. Entirely understandable really against a Millwall side who were going exceptionally well themselves at the time.

The second penalty he conceded against Millwall was, in my wholehearted and honest opinion, an absolute disgrace. Not on the part of Mee, but on the part of the referee and the "fouled" player. As far as I was concerned both from being there and seeing the replays, there was next to no contact whatsoever and the guy took a dive. Mee can do nothing about being close to a player who has taken a dive. To lay the blame at his door for that is entirely unfair and extremely misleading, really.

Last night based on the highlights I thought the concession of a pen was justified. However, those in the ground and apparently many Norwich fans thought dive - you can argue it either way; it's either one of those things a defender does and gets wrong (which I believe it was and can happen to a player no matter how experienced) or you can suggest it was like Millwall's second and the lad has been hard done by. If the first, you take it on the chin and move on. If the second, it's entirely unfair to criticise the lad and he's been on the end of two horrible decisions in his first 10 (using the number you quoted) professional games - not his fault.

Re: bringing in new players, I actually don't think the inclusion of Mee was a bad thing. I mentioned before that aside from the first 5 minutes of his pro career the guy has looked a very capable centre-half at this level and it hasn't harmed us in the slightest, I don't think. Including Mee's debut against Millwall, he won his first 5 on the spin in a team that scored 13 and conceded 4, with 2 clean sheets on the road. The next 4, we've not won, but 3 have been against sides that will definitely be in the promotion mix-up by the end of the season; 2 were away including 1 against the champions-elect out of position. His record isn't actually that bad, all things considered.

I think where we've gone wrong is a lack of quality strength in depth in midfield meaning we've needed to re-shuffle the pack to rest players. That's why meddling has been needed, and that's why we've needed to "fix" something that wasn't "broken". We've had to play Bruma in midfield in 1 game, Oakley has had to come in and we've switched to what appears to be a 4-4-2 diamond as opposed to the 4-3-3 we looked comfortable with in order to accomodate the changes. King and Wellens have looked shadows of their former selves and that may in itself be down to tiredness.

None of these are Mee's fault however inexperienced the kid is, and to an extent they're nobodies' fault, they're just the consequences of a poor pre-season, a wasted summer transfer window, minor injuries and coming towards the end of a lengthy season having been forced to play the same players week in, week out. None of which will be the case if we give Sven an entire pre-season to build the team he wants before the start of the next campaign.

Im not ignoring the rest of your reply, I haven't got much to come back on. We all have our views. all il say, from what I saw of the penalty (havent seen any highlights) was that the ball looked as if I was going out, and it didnt look like a tackle was needed-im not on a mee witchhunt- as ive said I havent seen it again, so maybe a challenge was required.

ANDY GRAY aka BROWN FOX. 3 penalties I think you'll find. Even lcfcjme agrees on this, though the second penalty was dubious.

Oh and that the linesman gave the pen, the ref wasnt interested.

Agree on the wellens and king thing though id say the whole team looks bollocksed. Possible repercussions of pre season under sousa perhaps? Though im reliably informed forest are having the same fitness problems were having

But if he's lost the plot and will just carry on making strange team selections then there is surely only one solution?

He has to go.

Not at all. He just has to lose face (if thats what its about) and revert back to the 11-as best as poss allowing for injuries- that was doing so well in jan and feb. Ricardo is the main gripe, as well as vassell. Ive never booed a city player, including oakley, but I really think ricardo has to be dropped. Vassell was a favourite of svens at international level so again I cant see him being dropped. But ricardo does seem to have a negative impact on our back 4. Vassell just doesnt see enough of the ball.

Its ok having all these big names etc, but if the spirit isnt there then were going nowhere. We were a better team last season, with perhaps a lesser quality squad if that makes sense.

The player we miss most of all IMO? Wayne brown. Though dyer may disagree

Wayne Brown's had a storming season at Preston hasn't he...

Blackpool couldve said the same about dj campbell before left us for them.

3players last season were the backbone of the team for different reasons. Brown wellens and howard. They all drove the team on in different ways

Yeah, that's it - sack Sven, :frusty: great  - coz he has to go - I just can't forgive him for taking us from a bottom of the league club to a club that is likely to finish in the top 7-10, yeah its unforgivable - we should sack him.

So then Einstein, who you gonna get in to replace him eh? Dowie? oh wait, I bet it's O'Neill?
