The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 March 2011 Author Posted 9 March 2011 I didnt mean it that way. Think of howard milking it up, trying to get the fans going, and contrast that to say yakubu just skulking around. And though im guessing, youd expect the team spirit to be less evident, with that many players being played etc. Maybe im talkin crap, maybe im not as articulate as others on here, maybe some on here agree with what im saying but dont comment because of the abuse you can get! I believe in what im saying though, as everyone does when its their opinion

I believe in what im saying though, as everyone does when its their opinion Individualism & 'names' prioritised over teambuilding/teamwork/teamspirit/unity/motivation/enthusiasm/morale and the good old fashioned throw your body into every last ditch tackle & strain every sinew to close the opposing team down? I'd go along with that; when we're good we can be brilliant, but we seem very easy to knock out of our stride.
Simmo86 Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Yeah, that's it - sack Sven, great - coz he has to go - I just can't forgive him for taking us from a bottom of the league club to a club that is likely to finish in the top 7-10, yeah its unforgivable - we should sack him. So then Einstein, who you gonna get in to replace him eh? Dowie? oh wait, I bet it's O'Neill? He was being sarcastic!

The Doctor Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Punches instead of catching, drops crosses when he tries to catch and claims a foul, consistently puts our defence under pressure by kicking it out to them when they don't want it, has now let 2 goals through his legs, doesn't command the box, the defenders have no confidence in him, kicked the ball straight out a few times today. Bullshit a lot of the time he has actually been fouled Thats the way the team play and is better suited to us because weale and logan (his possible replacements) have never made major cockups have they? from what i remember weale isn't the most vocal and commanding either How can you tell the lack of confidence is in him individually rather than in the defence as a unit? Also would bamba come out and defend him if they had no confidence in him? Of course, and weales kicks always find their man. Sven has tinkered with the side too much, we had a good spirit and trust in the man next to you to do there job... So what does Sven do? randomly bring in loan signings and put them straight into the team. Goalkeeping is 80% communication 20% ability, so saying the only problem is that Ricardo punches the ball is rubbish, Weale did nothing wrong but cause we brought in a 'name' he loses his spot. On this run of form I wouldn't expect Sven to be here much longer as its starting to look like 10m p!ssed up the wall. sort of wrong - communication is fairly important but it's not essential, ability is far more important, however "saying the only problem is that Ricardo punches the ball is rubbish" is true since, although the anti-ricardo fans will have conviniently not spotted this, ricardo catches as many as, if not more than, he punches 3 penalties in "10" games: The first penalty he conceded came in the first 5 minutes of his professional career - maybe nerves got the best of him and the adrenaline / rush of blood made him commit to a tackle he knows that he shouldn't make and hasn't done since. Entirely understandable really against a Millwall side who were going exceptionally well themselves at the time. The second penalty he conceded against Millwall was, in my wholehearted and honest opinion, an absolute disgrace. Not on the part of Mee, but on the part of the referee and the "fouled" player. As far as I was concerned both from being there and seeing the replays, there was next to no contact whatsoever and the guy took a dive. Mee can do nothing about being close to a player who has taken a dive. To lay the blame at his door for that is entirely unfair and extremely misleading, really. Last night based on the highlights I thought the concession of a pen was justified. However, those in the ground and apparently many Norwich fans thought dive - you can argue it either way; it's either one of those things a defender does and gets wrong (which I believe it was and can happen to a player no matter how experienced) or you can suggest it was like Millwall's second and the lad has been hard done by. If the first, you take it on the chin and move on. If the second, it's entirely unfair to criticise the lad and he's been on the end of two horrible decisions in his first 10 (using the number you quoted) professional games - not his fault. Re: bringing in new players, I actually don't think the inclusion of Mee was a bad thing. I mentioned before that aside from the first 5 minutes of his pro career the guy has looked a very capable centre-half at this level and it hasn't harmed us in the slightest, I don't think. Including Mee's debut against Millwall, he won his first 5 on the spin in a team that scored 13 and conceded 4, with 2 clean sheets on the road. The next 4, we've not won, but 3 have been against sides that will definitely be in the promotion mix-up by the end of the season; 2 were away including 1 against the champions-elect out of position. His record isn't actually that bad, all things considered. I think where we've gone wrong is a lack of quality strength in depth in midfield meaning we've needed to re-shuffle the pack to rest players. That's why meddling has been needed, and that's why we've needed to "fix" something that wasn't "broken". We've had to play Bruma in midfield in 1 game, Oakley has had to come in and we've switched to what appears to be a 4-4-2 diamond as opposed to the 4-3-3 we looked comfortable with in order to accomodate the changes. King and Wellens have looked shadows of their former selves and that may in itself be down to tiredness. None of these are Mee's fault however inexperienced the kid is, and to an extent they're nobodies' fault, they're just the consequences of a poor pre-season, a wasted summer transfer window, minor injuries and coming towards the end of a lengthy season having been forced to play the same players week in, week out. None of which will be the case if we give Sven an entire pre-season to build the team he wants before the start of the next campaign. /essay completely agree, paticularly the paragraphs in bold, our squad is fairly weak beyond the starting 11 so give sven a chance to strength the team and prepare for a season the way he wants the team to play, then judge him.
Fox92 Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 No, all managers go through bad spells. This is Svens (I hope...)
