Leicester City centre-back Jeffrey Bruma is battling to be fit for Saturday's crunch Championship clash at Scunthorpe.

The 19-year-old Dutch loanee from Chelsea was ruled out of Tuesday night's 3-2 home defeat to Norwich with a groin strain.

City missed the influential youngster, who had started the previous three matches and was outstanding at the heart of the defence in last weekend's narrow defeat to leaders QPR.

He picked up the injury in the 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road and Eriksson said: "We didn't think it was serious but he tried to train the day after the QPR game and he felt it.

"He has had a scan but, fingers crossed, he might be available for Scunthorpe, if not then for Portsmouth (City's next home game)."

Eriksson would be tempted to recall Bruma if he makes it to Glanford Park and may consider other changes to the starting line-up, with a possible recall for winger Paul Gallagher, who scored City's second goal against the Canaries deep in stoppage time.

He said: "If you look at those 15 minutes in the second half (when Norwich scored twice) then it could be 11 out and 11 in.

"As a coach and a manager you have to be worried. Normally you have one, two or three players playing as they don't normally do.

"That is normal but suddenly we came out in the second half and showed nothing and that worries me.

"Whether we trained too hard ... I'm sure we don't train too little. We will see and we need to talk in training and sort it out."

We desperately need width, and to be more direct. Feeling like a stuck record but I am not the only one saying it and it is so true.

Weale

Naughton Hobbs(no wait hang on)Bamba Bruma Berner

Gallagher King Wellens Dyer

Waghorn Vassell

Stuff The Yak at the moment, he looks tired and deflated. No use having a player on the pitch with those attributes no matter how big his name is. Waghorn looks fresh and ready to put in a shift, and before you say it, no i am not one of those people who bum the Hume types that run around a lot, but I do like to see my center forwards closing down the defence and preassurising them into mistakes.

When in possession we can be really good, passing the ball well, if then use this get the ball out wide to dyer and gallagher (he needs to beat his man for once though) then they can then run at the defence either by cutting inside or getting a cross in.

With vassell in the middle we can get some headers on those crosses and both him and waghorn will have bombed into the box, something yak is not doing at the moment.

4-4-2 is simple and easy to use, it can be adapted into two lines of defensive four but can also allow for wide attacking play when on the break.

And for god sake! Leave someone who can hold the ball up, further up pitch when we defend corners and freekicks, and leave atleast 3 back when we are attacking with them, so many times we get caught on the break its sickening.

Come on you blues!!!

Goalkeeper - Don't care which to be honest. We haven't got a good one like Paddy Kenny or Lee Camp.

Naughton

Vitor

Bruma - If not injured

Mee - Don't really like him playing a left back but theres no other 'good' option because of the injuries to Van Aanholt and Cunningham. Berner obviously lacks pace.

Abe

Wellens - Put him back in the centre of centre midfield!

King - Want to drop him but again, there's no other option.

Vassell

Yakubu - Lazy but the only one who can convert a chance.

Gallagher - Can't run but he scored so get him in.

____________

Put Schlupp on the bench. If there is no fight from some of the players again get him on.

Howard/Schlupp

Back to a system that was working.

Waghorn hassling (more than Vassell does).

Wellens, Abe, Gally and King over run them in the middle.

Vassell and/or Dyer – if needs be – come on and stretch them with pace.

Howard (if fit) can always come on to rough 'em up a bit too.

If anything they need the win more than we do so it could be quite open.

They'd generally be happy taking a point off us but at this stage and with where they are they might just go for all 3.

The other thing is they have a massive game on Tuesday – Preston at home so they may be looking ahead to that as well.

Crappy pitch aside, this is there for the taking. An early goal would be a massive boost too.

I was once told a team is as good as the worst player on the field.... in that case Ciao Ricardo. But like my previous posters

im not one of the all negative abuse Ricardo etc while hes on the pitch ill support him to the full!

Just at times i wonder with the a team startig from GK I believe the players would be a lot

more confident with a keeper they feel again.. confident in.

the players ARE confident in ricardo.. thats just bullshit people like you use to try and justify your claims...

do you rally think they would play pass backs to a keeper they are not confident in ?? it would be the last thing they do.

please show me why they wouldnt be confident in him??

hes from the continent and they tend to punch out there hence him originally doing that.. he catches also anyway. the goals against norwich were not his fault.. in fact he has been unlucky in all the goals... its not hes made serious errors that cost them..

so what reason would they have for not being condident in him?? other than the boo boys shouting weale...

After recent performances i would like to see yakubu dropped.

I would play Bruma to add a bit of aggression in the middle.

Keep the faith in Ricardo. he did nothing wrong against Norwich and is a lot more confident than weale !!

Alright I cant guarentee they dont have confidence in him. So are saying you DO know they have confidence in him because they pass the ball back to him now and again?

Hardly means they must have confidence in him, kicking the ball back up the field or to another player i could do blind folded whilst eating Weetabix.

People like me? ive said in numerous posts I was one of the people who wanted this guy to be in the team - couldnt wait.. but from what ive seen from home games

and watching games on the comp he dont half make a mess of things theres no need for so no i dont have confidence in him and im guessing the players might not

have either. Im not saying Weales the answer but i think atleast with him you know what your getting... just make sure you block the long shots.

And mate the difference is dunno if you've realised but we aint in the continent

Even if he hasnt cost any YET he WILL! its there for all to see! This probably is making me sound like im biased against the guy but im really not... I'd love for him

to be the answer to being the guy between the sticks but at the minute I just dont see it..

Instead chucking all ya toys out the pram and accusing people of what you believe they believe see what their previous opinions are ya clown...

At some point every goalkeeper costs their team a goal (Weale away at Derby last year and away at Bristol City this for example). It seems that quite a few fans actually want it to happen with Ricardo so they can say, 'I told you so'

haha...

Like i said i was guessing about the confidence bit, how do you know they DO have confidence in him?

Im gonna stop after this because it will look more like i dont like the guy. obviously i dont no like i said i was guessing

theres been plenty of occasions when he could just catch the ball instead of flapping at it. you was accusing by saying

people like me! I want the guy to do well i really do im just thinking hes been thrown in at the deep end too soon.

And to the other guy... yeah every keeper do make mistakes but the amount Ricardo at the moment is flapping at

it could be alot more than the usual teams concede if we arent careful.

because they have no reason not too. the guy has made some decent saves, the goals against him hes not had much chance. he has shown he can play with the ball also..

as i said earlier, hes spent how many years on the continent where they punch it, its going to be hard to instantly switch to catching it, but he does catch it now. he has also been fouled on the so called flaps.. and none of this has cost us anything so its northing like people are making out...

but because of the hype, the boos, stringer questioning him, the facebook groups, people like YOU saying hes the worse on the pitch(your words not mine so i wasnt accusing as you HAD said it) etc etc people build up a negative view of him without there really being a problem...

I see a lot of people moaning and groaning about formations and who plays etc. What is everyone's ideal line-up and formation against Scunthorpe on Saturday?

Weale (if fit)

Naughton Bamba Vitor (if fit) Mee

Gallagher Wellens King Dyer

Vassell Waghorn

I'd like to see Mee at left-back, see what he's like in that position. I'd ALWAYS play Lloyd (only one with real pace in a pretty slow team) and I'd like to see Wags playing off Vassell

Don't care who's in goal as long as its not Ricardo - in fact, I'd rather see Bamba in goal than that twat... hehe
