sdb Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 this might look crazy but my next line up would be -------------------Weale--------------------------- Bruma-----Bamba------Vitor--------Berner Naughton--Abe----Wellens------Gally ----------------King--------------------------- -------------------Waghorn------------------- We saw last season that it's effort and commitment that's required to get out of this league, more so than talented individuals. Other teams showing it this season too. Yak's work rate is criminal, Vassell is so mediocre and doesn't really care imo. Ricardo looks vulnerable and surely has no future here? (I love Sven but part of him is stuck in 2002/4). Vitor being dropped was silly.
Matt Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I think one word sums it up - Awful. I have nothing else to say.
mattw1 Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Most frustrated i've been all season. They may have a solid defensive record but we simply werent playing, but credit to Portsmouth i guess, they defended well when they needed to and restricted the way we play, but i fear we are way too predictable and should have more about us in seeing off teams like Portsmouth, especially at home.

Leicester are not even prepared to shoot anymore. Just messing around with the ball a few yards out. Then, pass it wide, so someone can cross it in. Just pathetic. Yakubu is poor. He has a lot of quality, but we get some of it every 5 games.
somebum Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Dont know why people are so surprised? Didn't you learn anything from when Sven was England manager? He is great when he is on a roll but one bump and he just cannot motivate the players. We've employed a lazy 35 year old Nigerian who was a quality player at his peak (30) but 5 years down the line he's just too old too put in the effort. Vassell to be fair never knew where the goal was but it's Sven's inability to motivate which has always been his weakness.

Mee didn't do nothing to deserve dropping Naughton is a right back keep him there Keep Bruma in, same back four even tho Vitor didn't deserve dropping I'm beginning to question Yak, if Kamara signs play him.. Possibly give Dyer a go instead of the woeful at the moment Vassell So my team Naughton Bruma Bamba Mee Abe King Wellens Dyer Kamara Gallagher Yes there's a few changes but warrented changes in my opinion...
CKB Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Oh and of course Ricardo or Weale both hit and miss imo

Pearson may have been boring, but at least he was a motivational manager. At least he picked teams that functioned. I don't want to bang on about last season, it's finished, but Sven seems to just use money on average players who are milking our club and giving us nothing back, aside from a few decent performances.
davieG Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Missed Opportunity. To move up the table and sell some STs.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I've officially run out of patience with Yakubu. It can't be doing the squad's morale any good when he gets paid so well for being one of the side's worst players. And the ref was the worst we've had this season. The incident where King was pushed when about to shoot on the edge of the area and the offender was not even spoken to, let alone booked, beggared belief.

lcfcsnow Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I've critised Oakleys performances in many games but King had a shocker today, he never turns up unless were playing well.
AlphaMaleFox Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Worst team performance at home EVER. In the Championship? This season? This month?
acooling08 Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Worst team performance at home EVER. You obviously haven't been supporting Leicester for long. Almost every performance between 2005-2008 was worse than today.
Mack Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Credit to Portsmouth today. Outfought, and outworked our players, came with a game plan to disrupt our midfield and passing style and to their credit they took the points. As for us, we need a plan B. Teams are now coming and doing a job on us and we need to offer up something else to counter act it.
RizLCFC Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 During our last few poor performances I've tried to stay optimistic and say that a win v Scunny and Pompey will stand us in great stead in terms of finishing in the play offs and so we would have been if we won today, but I'm going to give up now...Seasons over lads!
accessory Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 The lack of spirit in the side today was inexcusable. Wellens and KIng were invisible and Gallagher's waste of EVERY setpiece was particularly frustrating. Does anyone, even on here, seriously believe that Gallagher or Wellens would even have rated a squad place under MON, or even Micky Adams? It's disappointing enough to see this season end today. But Sven's actions this week threaten to wreck the next one too.
funkyrobot Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Why do people say the yak is 35? He's 28 so it's not his age, he's just lazy. I don't understand how Sven could even think of dropping vitor after his performance against scummy scunny??
FrankieADZ Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 trying to wipe the game from my memory, Im just glad it was warm today down the walkers, cos if it was cold it would have made me more pissed off than I am at the minute. Cant see us getting anywhere near the play off's now tbf, just got to hope everyone else slips up and we remember how to consistent. .
MC Prussian Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 In the Championship? This season? This month? You obviously haven't been supporting Leicester for long. Almost every performance between 2005-2008 was worse than today. I've seen us play in between 2005 and 2008 (albeit not on a regular basis), yet cannot recall the obvious lack of EVERYTHING like today. In the recent past (before Sven) we had shit, cheap players, but even then, we tried to make something happen. We lacked the quality back then. This season, we have one of the most expensive sides in the league. With a chance of still sneaking into the playoffs, even a pub team would've put more effort into actually winning it. There was no heart, no passion, no willingness, no cooperation, no tactics, nothing. This was worse than shambolic. I'm bereft of words to describe the first-half display. The second half was maybe an inch better, but the lack of desire to nick it, to compensate for such a terrible first half has me pissed. And whatever Sven and/or Derek Fazackerley were telling them in between halves, it had no effect whatsoever. At one point, something inside of me thought about today's squad not wanting to win on purpose, but then again, they can't all be that dumb. This Portsmouth team had one gameplan and that was to waste as much time as possible after they had taken the lead. They only tried to go for a second goal in the last 10 minutes of the second half. And boy did I want them to score a second, at least it'd have put an end to this misery a bit earlier. Apart from that, they were there for the taking. We did not try today. No one tried today. No one stepped up the plate today. If there was a chance of the club refunding the fans for bad days in the office, this would be the time to do it. Bringing in Bruma for Vitor? Unless it's for health safety reasons, this move doesn't make sense. I haven't seen the replay, but I bet it was Bruma who failed to mark his player. Did anyone see our midfield today? Abe? Wellens? Andy King in particular? Where was the "steering wheel" to guide us going forward? Vassell or Gallagher? Did we actually play today? How many shots on goal were there? How many missed corners? Hoof balls for what? Misguided passes left and right. No teamplay. How come it's the players that just signed a contract extension that looked the laziest and/or most anonymous today? Given the actual quality of players that we have on paper, that's why I rate this the worst home performance EVER. The upside? Things can only get better from here.
FURIES Fox Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I have to say, I think all the changes Sven has made have really had a negative effect on the team. Firstly, I am not sure Ricardo deserves his place, sure he may have great distribution, but Weale was near his best when Sven dropped him. Vitor had an outstanding game against Scunthorpe, to drop him for Bruma today was rediculous. SURELY Sven should be rewarding players for thier performances. I was unsure on Yakubu from the start, he did start incredibly well but he looks very lazy and clearly isn;t putting in nearly enough work to win games. What happened to that incredible team that forced a replay from Man City? I also feel Hobbs should never have been sent out on loan, he has been one of our most consistent players. All in all, too much change too fast has unsettled the team for me. Finally Sven DO NOT BRING KAMARA IN! Positively rubbish!
OzFox Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 The lack of spirit in the side today was inexcusable. Wellens and KIng were invisible and Gallagher's waste of EVERY setpiece was particularly frustrating. New contract...play crap. Works every time.
Callabinho Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 We really didn't perform today, Iv'e deffo seen worse! i thought Leeds was a terrible game boxing day! but it was a poor performance! However i put it down to Pompy's play, they got their goal and suffocated the game! it was a horrible stop start game, i found myself pulling my hair out! But we have to move on!
FoxyPV Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Too many missed chances and too many defensive errors. The story of our season.
