Passion for playing for Leicester City

Recommended Posts

3 weeks ago i came on here to say i do not feel the players currently playing for Leicester city play with passion - they play for a club and have no passion and are not loyal to our club - i was shouted down, but after todays performance i would be interested to hear peoples views!!!

Urgh...

Not this again, Look, I and many other have huge passion for Leicester, however if I and many others who had this huge passion (More than any player has) played it'd be a disaster.

Passion doesn't win games.

You really dont get it do you!! Passion is about winning games and wanting to win ....those players will trot off with more money than you can ever earn in a year in their back pocket and not give a toss!!! All the on loan players will be off in the summer!

Got to agree, with the biggest culprit being yak, not been impressed since he came here

So the players go out their to lose? Don't want a shot in the Premiership, bearing in mind a few of the loan players probably would be signed should we go up?

I can see your frustration, I had similar opinions years ago. I will agree with you not much effort was shown today but that's different to passion.

Poor effort today.

If you think this sis something about this set of players though you're mad.

Everyone has their reasons for being here and i very much doubt there are many players who joined purely because they loved Leicester city. That said you want to see it on the pitch, obviously. It wasn't there today from most, including players like King who came through the academy, in fact i thought Naughton, a loanee, looked our most interested and committed player, yet again.

I don't really see your point - it was a flat performance by the team and we looked weak, you're very much stating the obvious if you say you didn't see the passion today.

You raise a valid point with the passion.

What's more worrying for me though is the fact that Bruma felt we should have won the game as "we deserved to" and that Sven dismissed the fact that we didn't show any fight when challenged over this lack of passion.

Maybe I was watching a different game today. But I'd suggest it was Norwich repeated.

I have been watching then for 30 years so i understand frustration - i watch an under 10's team that gives more effort!

Yes i heard that - does make you wonder sometime.

Well moan about lack of effort then not 'pashun'.

'We need more pashun!'

Agreed, there was no urgency today. We could have been in and around the play-offs if we had won today, fvcking rubbish. Yakubu is just lazy, yeah he scores the odd brilliant goal out of nowhere...but is that an excuse for him not to run for ANYTHING? christ.

The thing that pissed me off about him today was you could see the effort after he missed that sitter. If he played every game like that i doubt people would be complaining.

Said it in the other thread though, despite that he is the best we have,

the players get paid regardless, and some of the players will be in the premiership anyway..

why was there no effort?? because not enough passion in the team..

a team that battered us last time, half time announces all the other teams are losing, what more incentives could you need to be fired up...

so you're suggesting none of our players want to win, bullshit.

All players want to win, be it for a simple love of the sport or the financial benefits of an improved contract from playing in a successful team.

Having so many loanees from, lets be honest, bigger clubs than ours,(Chelsea,Man C and yes Everton) do we really expect such players to sweat blood for us ? IMO only Naughton is the exception to this.Sven has made an error in getting too many merceneries on board. Why not give Jeff Schlupp a go ? Oh no,of course he's been sent out on loan. This isn't a knee jerk reaction, but an opinion i've held since Xmas.

Oh yeah i forgot Ben Mee the man who hadn't played a professional game in his career was a mercenary

i bet you were moaning about Yak being a mercenary when he'd scored 4 in 6 or whatever it was. Mee, Naughton, Bruma are all young and all want to play and they're going to sweat blood and tears because they're playing for their futures. Mee is hugely committed and passionate and so is Naughton. Haven't seen enough of Bruma but being 19 years old i doubt he's come here for a pay packet. Remember that if they come here and play shit then their parent club will be watching. How about our own players instead of blaming loanees? King was absolute shite today. Are you questioning his passion? And have you seen Jeff Schlupp play? Guessing not. He's not ready to play in a high pressure situation of having 8 cup finals to go. Sending him on loan to get his first professional game sounds sensible to me.

I want to win at tiddly winks, but wouldn' say im passionate about it ! A desire, effort and hatred of losing doesn't always seem to ooze from our beloved City IMO !!

Ok you have a point. But I didn't moan about Naughton,i've never been a fan of Yakubu-Everton fans wanted rid,£24k a week who can blame them ? Schlupp has been on the bench for us,then sent packing to Brentford ! King & Wellans are tired, give them as rest as the play offs look out of reach

It's not the fact that they are on loan that is the problem, it depends on the individual.

No-one can argue that Naughton (as you said) and the likes of Waghorn and Cleverley in recent times didn't give their all despite only being on loan.

What concerns me more is (if rumours are to be believed) that we take players on loan on the understanding that they have to play x amount of games during their spell, regardless of their form or effort..

That, I don't agree with.
