THFC6061 Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Tottenham Hotspur face Real Madrid on Tuesday 5th April 2011 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals. The second leg will be played at White Hart Lane on Wednesday 13th April 2011. The winners of the tie will meet the winners of Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk in the Semi-Final. In 1961, Bill Nicholson instigated Tottenham Hotspur's tradition of playing in an all-white kit for their European matches by telling his players "You look like Real Madrid - now go out there and play like them!" Spurs and Real Madrid have already met once before in the fourth round (Quarter Finals) of the UEFA Cup in season 1984-85. Tottenham lost 0-1 at home, which was their first defeat at the Lane in European football since 1961. Finnegan Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 It pains me to want Real to win, but a Classico semi would just be frupping brilliant.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 This time has the potentinal to be a cracker but can't see Tottenham winning, but then again who would of though they would be in the quarters after being down 3-0 against the mighty Young Boys in qualifying
Edmund Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I despise Tottenham but for one game only I'll be cheering them on. I don't buy the support the English teams in Europe argument, but I'm not a big fan of Real Madrid. Having said that, Sosban makes a great point. A Real - Barca semi would be brilliant.
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Lets ****ing hope Mourinho sorts his players out and they give the spuds a good tonking
Samilktray Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I will be loving it if Spurs win, and I think they could cause Real some big problems
purpleronnie Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I'll eat my own poo if Real Madrid don't win this tonight.
Joe. Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I actually like both teams, but I generally want the English sides to do well so I'm hoping for a good Spurs result tonight. Plus I seem to be the only person in my house of eight tolerant towards Spurs, so to piss them off I'd also like them to do well.
Corky Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Mourinho won't want to lose two home games in a row. Madrid win tonight.
purpleronnie Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Mourinho won't want to lose two home games in a row. Madrid win tonight. Thats exactly waht i thought too, I'm sure most spurs fans thought the same when Real lost at home for the first time since 1897.
Ashley Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I want Tottenham to win tonight however like Sosban said, a Real, Barca semi-final would be excellent should both teams get there. Betting Folks; Tottenham, Man United double ranges between 28-31/1.
ScouseFox Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I don't dislike either team, just hope it's a good game. Ideally a high scoring draw tonight leaving it all to play for at the Lane.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I just want some entertainment to be honest, even though I bum Real off.
BoneDog Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Better get your toothbrush and plenty of Colgate ready purpleronnie, this has got 2-2 written all over it.
Kenners Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I cant seem to get on to myp2p . Does anyone have a link to a good stream? I'd be forever grateful.
ScouseFox Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Lennon "taken ill" about 5 minutes before kick off. Jenas starts instead.

BoneDog Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Lennon "taken ill" about 5 minutes before kick off. Jenas starts instead. I reckon he just needed a crap! He's been switched to the bench so that stinks of "Kick Off Creeper Crap" to me.
ScouseFox Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I reckon he just needed a crap! He's been switched to the bench so that stinks of "Kick Off Creeper Crap" to me. ! Tottenham want an away goal and need one really, and Madrid are up for it. Hopefully a recipe for a great, open game.
ScouseFox Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Crouch has gone mad, never seen him tackle anyone ever, and two studs up unnecessary tackle in the first 15. Mental.
