Fox92 Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Didn't see this thread so... (sorry if there is one though!) Weale - 5 - Distribution poor more than anything today. Beaten from long range again, but I'm not sure if he could have got it. Naughton - 7 - Steady Bruma - 6 - Good, but better in midfield Vitor - 6 - Outmuscled for the goal Mee - 5 - Never a full back, would rather another loanee sit out than Van Aaanholt again Wellens - 7 - Some nice running and passing again Abe - 7 - Covered all area's of the pitch again King - 4 - Nothing much again. Outmuscled all the time, no pace, normal. Gallagher - 6 - Can't remember him offering that much again Yakubu - 7 - Great finish Vassell - 8 - Worked hard all game yet again. Great assist for the goal and a threat all game. Subs Howard didn't offer much, in fact, I don't think he even won a header Kamara was ok. Great ball through to Vassell for our goal. Apart from that, good running I suppose, not much. Berner covered well. Needed him really because Mee isn't a real left full back.
ScouseFox Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Vassell 7 Everyone else 6. Nobody was proper shite, nobody was good.
ousefox Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Vassell 7 Everyone else 6. Nobody was proper shite, nobody was good. Can't argue with that

YAKUBU WAS CRAP YET AGAIN! yh he got a goal but for how much we're paying him he should get more goals and work harder rarther than waiting for the ball!
ajthefox Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Weale - 5 - The goal just looked a quality strike to me so no real fault there, but was generally shakey and poorly distributed the ball. Felt embarassed for him a couple of times. Mee - 6.5 - struggled getting forward but was solid defensively Bruma - 7 - Solid, didn't really do much wrong and if anyone comes on here saying he was shite again they are definitely letting their bias cloud their judgement Vitor - 7 - Same as Bruma really. Maybe made 1 or 2 mistakes but generally saw off any threat Naughton - 7 - Mr Consistency, had their left mid in his pocket all game Wellens - 6 - industrious as ever but not much else Abe - 6 - Not bad but don't remember him having much to do King - 6 - In the game a little more than recent times, made a couple of decent runs and some good passing but got a little frustrated second half Gallagher - 6 - Not at his best, worked Ok down the left but nothing much to note Yakubu - 6 - Would be lower if not for the goal which was a tidy little finish. Contributed very little otherwise and was again very lethargic Vassell - 7 - Was the best we had going forward. Scared their defenders and worked very hard. Kamara - 5.5 - ineffectual, tried too hard at times, did nearly set up the vass though Bruno - 6.5 - Came on and did what he needed to do Howard - 6 - Worked hard for a few headers but nothing really came off that well I think we were very average today, and you could sort of tell it was a meaningless game for us. Donny aren't really any good and if we had a little more energy, committment and quality we could have stuck a few past them but the midfield and front three just offered very little today. Vassell's pace and direct running was very refreshing to see but unfortunately it seemed we just weren't all there today. A little disappointed if I'm honest even if the effects on our points tally were to be purely academic.
Jimmy Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 YAKUBU WAS CRAP YET AGAIN! yh he got a goal but for how much we're paying him he should get more goals and work harder rarther than waiting for the ball! he score, he did his job, from the sounds of it King did nothing again, he's in midfield so he is MEANT to do a lot more Yakubu isn't btw we ain't paying him £50k/week either
lcfc_jme Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 1 in 2 is an awful strike rate. Bring back Horsfield and Hume.
iloveleicester Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 IMO i would love the yak for one more year, pre season fitness, a whole season too bag in 15 goals and perhaps a better striker to work off "I HAVE SPOKEN" From family guy
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Everyone 6, not a good performance at all really.
Corky Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 6's for most, Vassell probably worth a 7, Abe as well.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Let's get Barry Hayles back, he's about as fat as Yakubu. He'd smash the championship up, bit more experience this time around. In all seriousness. Yakubu isn't fat. His game ISNT to run around like a blue arse fly, doing jack shit all game. Some fans need a reality check. He's a goal-scoring beast.
Fox92 Posted 1 May 2011 Author Posted 1 May 2011 YAKUBU WAS CRAP YET AGAIN! yh he got a goal but for how much we're paying him he should get more goals and work harder rarther than waiting for the ball! We have needed a goalscorer for years, at this level. We have now got one. Yakubu did his job yesterday, just like he did against Watford, Middlesbrough and most of the games in which he plays in. He doesn't work as hard as other strikers, but at the end of the day, he scores the goals. There are other players that don't work hard either. Andy King wasn't in the game yet again, he doesn't get stuck in, he doesn't tackle etc but your just highlighting Yakubu's performance like other fans. I'd sign Yakubu up anyday, he'll be our 20 goal a year man, and I'd be happy for him to score our required goals.
acooling08 Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 Yet again Yakubu does absolutely nothing but somehow manages to score. He is the most frustrating player ever as he obviosuly shows brilliance at times but not regulary enough. He'll need to take a pay cut if he wants to be here next season.
tomtom Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 There was an interview the other day with fabio cappelo talking about the 4-3-3 formation, he pointed out the front man should be staying in the centre not chasing everything down in the corners, its the other 9 outfield players jobs to close down then hit the front man when we get the ball, slightly off topic but shame the yak haters didn't see it
C.J Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 It made me laugh when people were shouting at Yakubu when he wasn't doing much, then after he scored a chant of 'feed the Yak' broke out. Some of of fans are such Fickle twats.
