Simmsy Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Maynard's broke his leg once (can happen to the least injury prone of players,) had one bad knee injury and no other notable injuries as far as I'm aware. Not exactly injury prone.

John Matrix Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I don't think he even broke his leg playing football, I heard it was done skiing. black people don't ski
Jollie Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I don't think he even broke his leg playing football, I heard it was done skiing. 2007/08 This campaign didn't start off with the best of games against Brighton! Although we recorded a 2-1 home win and the first League win under new First Team Coach Steve Holland, just 20 minutes into the game Nicky Maynard broke his leg. The injury kept him sidelined until early December, however he still managed to score 15 by the end of the season. From the Crewe website Doing it skiing sounds loads better though...or wrestling an alien

CountesthorpeFox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I don't know if this has been suggested, or if it is a complete load of football manager based rubbish but - could we not strike the deal so that ceratin amounts are paid after so many games. So for example - £2mill straight up, £1mill after ten games, £1 mill after 20 games, £1mill after 30 games and £1mill after 40 games. Would really help quash the negative impact of him getting injured and may even leave some operating expenditure for us to use on another prem back up loanee if he was to get crocked?

Yes it's called add ons
CountesthorpeFox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Yes it's called add ons Add ons is an umbrella term used to describe lots of different things associated with a deal i was talking specifically but well done anyway.
Blanesta Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Add ons is an umbrella term used to describe lots of different things associated with a deal i was talking specifically but well done anyway. They would need to be specific, especially with multi-million pound deals, otherwise clubs would wriggle out of paying the agreed sums. I do also think the deal needs to be attractive to the other club in order for them to accept the deal.

I was just saying that if i'd have said, why dont we use add ons, then I could have meant anything from monthly installments, sell on percentage or player exchange. An "after appearence fee" type deal is a type of add on. That was the main objection I think they would face as i doubt Bristol would be willing to accept anything less than 50-75% of the fee within the next few months at the very least. But hey what do i know.
