MikeyT Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 U2 have been named the highest paid musicians by Forbes Magazine. Bono and co. made $195m in the last year alone, largely thanks to their 360 Degree tour, which recently became the highest-grossing tour of all time. The Forbes Highest Paid Musicians list has Bon Jovi in second place, with earnings of $125m in the last 12 months. Elton John is $20m behind in third place. Lady GaGa is fourth with earnings of $90m, thanks to her sell-out Monster Ball tour and back-to-back albums. Her tour actually made more than Bon Jovi’s recent outing, but the cost of her elaborate sets and costumes pushed her down the list. Michael Bublé rounds out the top five with earnings of $70m. Justin Bieber was by far the youngest star to make the Forbes list, raking in $53m from his tour, album and Never Say Never documentary. Other notable artists include Usher in 12th place with $46m and Katy Perry at 14th with $44m. Jay-Z and Beyoncé both made the top 25, the only couple to do so. Jay ranked 17th with earnings of $37m, while his wife was one place lower with $35m, despite not touring or releasing an album in the last year. The calculations are based on pre-tax earnings for the year ending May 2011.
purpleronnie Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Maybe bono will give it away to the needy. Maybe not.
MikeyT Posted 18 June 2011 Author Posted 18 June 2011 Maybe bono will give it away to the needy. Maybe not. I'm needy. He could misplace a million and not even notice.
MikeyT Posted 18 June 2011 Author Posted 18 June 2011 Surprised Bon Jovi were as high as 2nd. 2 new albums from them (One greatest Hits and 1 studio album in the last year) and a world tour. (I'm a fan, i know these things )
purpleronnie Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Thats ok. Besides back in the day I bought New jersey and slippery when wet.
MikeyT Posted 18 June 2011 Author Posted 18 June 2011 Thats ok. Besides back in the day I bought New jersey and slippery when wet. Both classics! Prefer New Jersey though. The tracks from Slippery are too overplayed.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 It saddens me that people become rich from mediocrity.
Libertine Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 And he has the nerve to say he still hasn't found what he's looking for. Twat.
jonthefox Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Both classics! Prefer New Jersey though. The tracks from Slippery are too overplayed. Good, but not as good as 'These days'.
MikeyT Posted 18 June 2011 Author Posted 18 June 2011 Good, but not as good as 'These days'. 100% agree. By far their best album. Definitely the most mature sounding, especially the lyrical content.
Jay Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 everytime Beautiful day gets played U2 should be fined for crimes against humanity
jonthefox Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 everytime Beautiful day gets played U2 should be fined for crimes against humanity i like how bono preaches to us about poverty and world hunger, then nobs off back to his £300 million fortune. Wining hypocritical willy puller.
Jon the Hat Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 It saddens me that people become rich from mediocrity. U2 are far from mediocre. You might not like their music, but they put on an incredible show when they tour.
purpleronnie Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 U2 are far from mediocre. You might not like their music, but they put on an incredible show when they tour. pity the songs are shit and the frontman is a twat.
The Doctor Posted 25 June 2011 Posted 25 June 2011 pity the songs are shit and the frontman is a twat. In fairness The Unforgettable Fire was a good album. But it's still just 1 good album in 30 odd years.
Head Honcho Posted 25 June 2011 Posted 25 June 2011 With Bono and Chris martin at Glasonbury who's looking after the Third World!
Maybes Posted 25 June 2011 Posted 25 June 2011 With Bono and Chris martin at Glasonbury who's looking after the Third World! Big Bob!
Rocket-Ron Posted 25 June 2011 Posted 25 June 2011 With Bono and Chris martin at Glasonbury who's looking after the Third World! Jolly Angelina
Stevosevic Posted 26 June 2011 Posted 26 June 2011 Jay-Z in with 37million without releasing or touring, says it all, the guy is phenomenal.
Jay Posted 26 June 2011 Posted 26 June 2011 whats more amazing is that User is 12th in the list despite being absolute horse shit
Stevosevic Posted 26 June 2011 Posted 26 June 2011 whats more amazing is that User is 12th in the list despite being absolute horse shit I think he makes alot of his money from producing and Justin Bieber.

But it's still just 1 good album in 30 odd years. U2 were good when they began. However Bono started off by sticking it to the man, only to become the man. Sad. With Bono and Chris martin at Glasonbury who's looking after the Third World! You mean the Ireland after their economy collapses? Apparently he couldn't care less.

You mean the Ireland after their economy collapses? Apparently he couldn't care less. I think that is called getting older Haha. So it's fine for Ireland to attract musicians for a decade+ with tax breaks, but when they change the rules and artists move their tax base to the Netherlands then the system is broken!! That is hypocrisy, not U2 doing what everyone else is doing.
