Starting Line-Up

I don't understand why everyone would rather have peltier in the line up ahead of paintsil, fair enough the lad didn't play badly against Madrid but it is clear that paintsil is the better of the two.

How many times have you seen Paintsil play? I thought Peltier was good and I expect him to easily fill Naughton's boots.

No wellens? the guy who is probably going to be our captain

I agree.

I think Wellens is key. Ok, he didn't have the best of games yeterday but he is the man to create chances. Look back at last season, some of his awareness to pick a pass was sensational, for example, Hull away when he slowed the game down and picked out Vassell with a beautiful ball.

I do think that he does sometimes slow the game down, sometimes it can be good and sometimes it can be bad like. But I also think King slows the game down as well. Wellens is the sort of player to get in the oppositions faces, like Forest away, when he caused Morgan to give the ball away and we eventually scored from it.

He would be my choice as captain and one of the first names on the team sheet.

I really do struggle to see what people see in Wellens, his performance yesterday was a disgrace. Abe and Danns went our there knowing they had to put a performance in to prove their worth a starting place.

But our future captain, as he always does whens the going is tough, he hides, doesn't fancy it. Captain my ****ing arse!

Because Pantsil isn't match fit.

From all those times you've seen Pantsil play?

Well yes because he has been playing in england for a while now so you see him on TV. Also i live in london and have friends that support fulham, ive been to watch and he was impressive and first choice.

I never said that peltier wasnt a good young player, im saying that look at pantsils experience at club and international level and i know who i would rather have playing.

Stats dont lie!

I don't understand how a player who was named player of the year last season can be judged as rubbish. Yes, Wellens had a poor game yesterday, but in his role as creator, it was never going to be easy to be outstanding against Real. However, because Danns and Abe had defensive duties (of which there were plenty) they shone more. Wellens can hack it Championship level and even showed when we played Man City at home that he was arguably the best midfielder on the pitch.

I'd stick with the side that started yesterday... I think that XI is ready to go, the fittest side and I think that's our most constructive midfield at this moment in time. In time, I would expect Fernandes, Johnson, Paintsil, St Ledger, and any new winger or striker to stake claims.

I wouldn't call his performance 'a disgrace'. Ok, he was bad but it wasn't anywhere near a disgrace, and it was just as good as Gallagher's performance.

Wellens is the creative one. Not any other of the midfielders are as creative as Wellens. He is a skillful footballer, and I don't see how you don't rate him when he won player of the season, and has also attracted Premier League attention.

You'd drop a LB who has done well for us so far for a RB out of position?

I thuoght one of the RB was supposed to be able to play LB.

I wasn't as impressed with Konchesky as the rest of you. It's just my opinion.

Thats a good team..However we need some more firepower up front or I dont see us being any more than a team pushing for the top 6. 6-12th I see unless we sign a top striker or 2. Defencivly and in midfield I see alot of options but up top other than Nugent whoes going to even get 7-8 goals? I dont see anyone other than Maybe Nugent and King getting into double figures...Maynard would complete the jigsaw IMO
