Simmsy Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 As things stand at the minute... But if/when Johnson is fully fit, he'll probably play as he's class. And if Sven gets Townsend or someone on loan then they'd be playing as we need more width imo.
cc_star Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Kasper Pantsil - Bamba - Berner - KoncheskyFernandesDanns - Wellens - KingBeckford - Nuge Our bench must always include Howard & Dyer who are the only 2 squad players we have who can actually change things

Although definately agree with playing nugent and beckford as a forward 2. I dont think we can play players out of position and expect the best from them.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Stick with 4-4-2 diamond Kasper Peltier/Pantsil Mills Bamba Konchesky Fernandes Wellens King Danns Nugent/Vassell Beckford
Leicestonion Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I've been thinking hard... and looking at a more creative, it would go something like this.... Schmeichel Pantsil, Pelts, Bamba, KoncheskyFernandas, King, Danns,Beckford, Nugent/Schullp, VasselBench: Dyer, Wellens, SSL, Gally, GOOOOOOOAL, 'BACK OF THE NET', 'EAT MY GOAL' 'yes yes yes yes Yes YEs YES YEEEEEESSSSS that was a Goal', 'Striker' 'Twat, that was liquid football', Eat that and ANOTHER' S**t did you see that, he must have a foot like a traction engine'
The Doctor Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Schmeichel Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Fernandes King Danns Gallagher Beckford Nugent Subs: GK (Not Weale) SSL Abe Dyer Schlupp
Father Ted Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Diamond: Schmeichel Pantsil - Mills - Bamba - Konchesky Wellens Fernandes ------- Danns Nugent Beckford - Vassell Subs: weale, st ledger, abe, king, Schlupp.
BourneFox90 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 in terms of the squad, does anyone know where michael johnson is? injured, unfit or just not up to standard? i thought in the real match he looked quality, although he only made a small cameo. if fit he wouldd be straight in my starting 11

Guest MattP Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 A lot if these formations being produced are nonsense, there is no way Sven is changing from what he has played this season. The only question is whether Nugent or Beckford gets shifted to the wide position, A shame as it will birthing game of one of them. Be hurting* fcuking phone
Foxinspain Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Schmeichel Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Fernandes King Danns Gallagher Beckford Nugent Subs: GK (Not Weale) SSL Abe Dyer Schlupp Wellens?
The Doctor Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Wellens? I don't think he's anywhere near good enough - so slow on the ball, can't really shoot or tackle. There would have been no sort of sadness from me if we'd sold him this summer.

Well considering we have played a 442 diamond in the last two games I don't think it will necessarily be the case of one of them getting pushed out wide.

More than possible Sven will start with a 442 diamond at the next game, in which case it'll be Nugent and Beckford upfront.
cc_star Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I doubt it, but does anyone share my opinion that Berner (the forgotten man) could be the man for LCB Never gonna happen with a new £5m captain, who people seem to love because he made a fist after Pelts goal at Cov, but hasn't done much to suggest he's better than average since IMO the experienced head, natural left footer, does have an ability to bring the ball out from the back & not hoof, with the more mobile Bamba alongside in his preferred RCB slot complimenting him perfectly

Thracian Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Away game with a fluid attitude. A 4-1-4-1 which converts readily to 4-2-4 or even 3-3-4 when we're in possession. Schmeichel; Pantsil, Mills, Bamba, Schlupp King, Vassell Fernandes,Danns, Dyer, Beckford Subs: Oakley, Wellens, St Leger, Gallagher. Konchesky. It remains a job to keep the defence sound but to also get them moving forward reasonably comfortably when we have the ball. With better full-backs I'd go 4-2-4 now with Vassell, Beckford, Schlupp and Dyer. But as it is we'd be exposed behind the full-backs hence the experiment of using the faster, more talented Schlupp at left-back so he could move forward to make an effective 3-4-3 in possession, thus sustaining pressure. Leaving Wellens out is not to dismiss his talent but to keep more energy in the side and allow King to break forward late in support of Beckford and our other attackers and for Schlupp to have a sort of Bale role to get forward as the opportunity presents itself. I just wish Tunchev was there to do the tidying. Fernandes and Danns would then be the foragers and supporters while King would become the fulcrum, saving Bamba from his daft dribbling and ensuring we don't give free headers in the box from set-pieces. This still leaves us too pedestrian on the bench but I think it would make our point while keeping us potentially solid away from home. Pantsil or Peltier? I honestly don't now as yet and am not sure that either is good enough.
No7 Gallagher Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 We have finally got a striker who can prove he can score. My dream Line up: 1. Kasper Schmeichel Konchesky Mills Bamba Panzil King Wellens Fernandes Danns Nugent Beckford

And yet our defence seemed a lot less leaky when he was there than now he's not. Apart from individual mistakes we're losing people in the box. It's one of the reasons I've put King further back - he offers another useful head at corners and free-kicks. However much we've spent on defenders, keeping the goals against down is a problem that needs to be solved but not at the cost of having a reinforced back line rooted to the penalty area.
Messi Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Kasper Pantsil Mills Bamba Konchesky Wellens Fernandez Danns King Nugent Beckford
Clazie Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Chesk Fernandes Wellens King Danns Nuggen Beckham That's not bad. Rotate who sits becuase I'd want to play the diamond. Give the Yuke a couple of games as well of course.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Kasper Pantsil Mills Tunchev Bamba Konchesky Wellens Fernandez Danns King Nugent Beckford The one alteration I'd make to that. There's a tough decision to be made between Vassell and Danns too.
