Crystal palace have also just signed ryan mcgiven lol surely they can't sign tunch as well ? And cpfc why are palace signing players on 28 day loans.?

I just saw this too, they all seem to think he's amazing because he's played for Man City before, and apparently being on loan to us the season we got in the play off's means he's a living god! Do they not realise he was probably our worst player at the time lol

I like Tunchev but seriously, how can you compare a quality half season in League 1 to the likes of say Matt Elliott??

This, some people get seriously carried away when talking about Tunchev.

Ryan McGiven, he is possibly up there with one of the worst players I have ever witnessed wearing the shirt. He is everything you don't want in a full back, positioning poor, pace zero, can't tackle, can't run with the ball, easily beaten and certainly doesn't know how to pass.

Honestly, most of us Leicester fans will tell you how good he is, me being one of them, but the truth is that we don't really know how good he will be in the championship because we've only seen him for half a season in league 1.

It is easy to judge a player sometimes though and he is a real talent. Cool and calm, never looks under pressure. Hope it is a loan deal because I'd love him to come back in here. Was easily my most favourite player for a while during that half season.

Do you, by any chance, go on any music forums?

Bit gutted about this if true, would rather we kept him seeing as we've spent so much time making sure he got back to fitness properly but I guess the 5 sub rule makes his chances slim.

Just noticed they signed McGivern?! Jesus wept.... Vassell will have a field day down that right wing ;)

According to the BBC website, Palace have signed a couple of defenders - neither of them are Tunchev though.

Crystal Palace agree Davies and McGivern loan deals

E-mail this to a friend Printable version Davies has previously played for Middlesbrough and Southampton Crystal Palace have added to their side by signing defenders Andrew Davies and Ryan McGivern on 28-day loans.

Davies, 26, moved to Stoke City in 2008 but has made just four appearances in three years.

The former England Under-21 international has spent much of the last few years out on loan, including spells at Preston and Middlesbrough.

Manchester City defender McGivern, 21, made 15 appearances while on loan at League One side Walsall last season.

Tunchev is a quality defender who's great strength is his reading of the game and ability to deal calmly and thoughtfully even with the most pressured situations. He is the only defender I've seen to remind me of the legendary Ian King of the 60s - the best centre-back I ever saw in a Leicester shirt although John Sjoberg and Tony Knapp weren't bad.

I hope the loan is temporary and that Tunchev stays fit and proves to Sven what a brilliant asset he could be to our first choice team. My only doubt about him - apart from whether he can stay fit - is in tracking the runners into the box. He's not the most physical of defenders or the fastest and he did get caught out by Kevin Phillips during a friendly against West Brom.

But I don't know if that was just a bad day or whether, in fact, we will badly need the concentration and positional play I believe he could bring to any defence. I presume his loan - if it happens - will provide the answers.

Classy centre half. Glides around and is rarely out of position. Looks comfortable on the ball and reads the game nicely.

If he'd been fit in the past 2 years there'd be Prem clubs after him, for sure.

Edit- or maybe he'd be playing for us as a Prem club if he was fit last year. Who knows, but he's good.

If he goes out on loan, does this mean we'll need another CB? Or would Ball be able to play there as well as at full back? Obviously not at the same time though :giggle:

Ball can play centre back if need be.

Good player if he's fit mate, reads the game superbly. If he didn't suffer that bad knee injury he would be playing in the Prem for a top half team IMO.

If Matt Mills has half the talent Tunchev has then he'll be a bargain at £5 million. That is how good Tunchev is but injuries may have ruined him for good.

I really hope not, would be a massive shame :(

Bad knee injury sustained Vs Crystal Palace in the cup -no??

Yep!

Our local press says he's yet to sign a new contract, so in reality he's out of contract and we can't loan him to CP until he signs a contract with us - or he could of course reject a new contract and sign on a permanent deal with yourselves.
