Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 My problem with Sven isnt his lack of shouting/screaming. Diff managers have diff ways of working. Its the total lack of planning that appears to have gone into building a team for this season, we are 3 games in and still dont even the players we need that he should of been sorting out in June. How we can be sat here now still with only one first choice striker and no wingers to fit into the system he wants to play. It's absolutely shocking. People seem to be finally waking up and seeing the light. Last season he just signed players mainly on loan who werent all that good anyway, and just played them anywhere on the pitch. Kamara for example, and Vassell, played on the wings even thought they are strikers. He hasnt addressed the winger situation at all. People say we need a striker but least we actualyl do have some anyway. We dont have one proper winger apart from Dyer, who for some bizarre reason, is always played on the right!
Grewks Posted 17 August 2011 Author Posted 17 August 2011 Yes fair point, really I was just trying to put the point across that just beacause a manager does not show PASHUUUUUN on the touchline it does not make them a bad manager, im not saying that his lack of animation is why he is a bad manager, look at my other posts discussing his tactics. A hard work ethic is what fans want, and that includes a passionate manager.
Grewks Posted 17 August 2011 Author Posted 17 August 2011 if i had £12 million to spend then my signings would look like this.... In Jimmy Kebe - £4 million Michael Chopra - £1.5 million Ben Mee - 750k / loan Lee peltier - £1 million Konchesky £1.5 million David Nugent - free Neil Danns - free Andros Townsend - loan Miguel Vitor - £2 million / loan Jem Karacan - £2 million Darren Pratley - free Kasper Schmeichel - £1.5 million Out Howard - 300k - derby Oakley - 300k - derby Waghorn - 500k - derby

I looked at the side tonight (on paper, soon to be confirmed on the pitch) and my first thought was "Where the fcuk has 15million gone here"?? Apart from left full back and keeper we actually seems to be weaker in every area of the field. (centre mid maybe the same, I like Nugent but he is on his own and not in Yakubu's league) Very very strange.
accessory Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Name ONE player, from last season or this, who has actually IMPROVED as a result as Sven's management during his time with us.

There isnt one. It doesnt help that he decided that nearly the entire team that was here when he arrived wasnt good enough, bringing in more players and getting rid of decent ones.

I think his man-management, which has supposedly been his strength, has to be questioned. Making Mills captain then dropping him after 3 games as he's also done with Danns is ridiculous. He's going to end up with a lot of pissed off players soon.
Basil Brush Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I'll pay his fare . all seriousness what deal is Sven on, its all very well saying Sven out, but what would that cost and who would we get in? Tony Adams? People who say Sven out can say Sven out till the comes go home, he is our manager and one of the best managers at club level and thats proof , if you give him the resocuces and he will sucseed if you give him the resources to beat teams.
Narborough_fox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Well this deluded manager has done quite well in his career. Give him 10 games and then see where we are. I garuntee we'll be within 5 points of top position and comfortably in the play-offs.
Karljohn Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 He's done nowt for the last ten years, dining out on past glories, appointed by owners who have a dream but no nothing about football but are slowly turning us into a duty free outlet.
Petchy Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 massive overreactions? any fan can see that the only time we have competed in our opening 4 games (including cup) is when we played the diamond 4-4-2. Why can sven not see that? This formation has to be used at forest as there was no difference from tonight and the reading game. Except we were against a weaker bristol city side. (with no defenders) Even Nugents shot should have been saved! Yeah, exactly. 4 games. Get a grip seriously, it's going to take time yet it seems the fans think we're guaranteed promotion. It's that mindset that leads to the rant topics on here already. More noticeably from 'new' members....
RumbleFox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Oooooh, look at me my names JB Fan and I'm going to write off our whole season after just four games cos I'm a miserable cvnt! Jesus Christ I'm actually embarrassed to be a Leicester fan. I am deeply, deeply embarrassed to be associated with some of you. Ten game minimum before I start moaning. Love you all. Rumble. X

He's spent more over the summer than any other manager in this league. His record in English club management is fairly mediocre and likely to remain so. As others have said, right now he's living on past glories.

Apart from getting Mexico to qualify for the World Cup, taking Man City to one of there highest finishes for years and being the 3rd most successful England manager ever getting them from 21st to 9th in the world. Pretty good record in the last 10 years so it's not really nowt

He was sacked from Man City after a dreadful run of form that ended with an 8-1 defeat. He claims some glory from finishing in the quarters in the worst time of International football since the 1950's. Even Greece won the euros.
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 He ****ed up the Mexico job, seriously you could put a chimpanzee in charge of Mexico and qualify for the world cup with ease in that Concacaf region.

You dont really believe that surely? If you watch the highlights the keeper did a job avoiding the protest as it could of been 15-1. Yes the owners were forcing him out, he had spent a lot of money on a squad that wasnt finishing top half, totally understandable.
Thracian Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 For me this is the best post of the night... I applaud you sir and now I'm off to bed to dream of who else svennis can think of signing.. If the argument of many on here us that it takes time to gel I tell you what then... Let's sign some more! We must have been linked with every fooker going.. If you're going to have a really good side you need wingers and full backs involved. Look at the likes of Gary Neville and Patrice Ezra. Or Gareth Bale at Spurs. They got/get so involved from one end of the field to the other. Not just once or twice but continuously. Bristol counter-attacked pace and urgency. Their wide men were also well supported. But we really did help them through the pedestrian way we played when in possession at the back, dribbling, turning backwards, four or five touches on the ball. If a team is going to use wingers the ball has to get to them quickly so they get lots of 1 v 1's. It causes panic and panic brings mistakes as was shown last night. .

I'm not sure, Sven seems like a very nice person, the sort of person you'd want to work for while the man city owner was as mad as a box of rabbits. I could imagine the players weren't too happy with Svens treatment by thaksin Shiniwhatever and may have done something about it.
