TonyDorigo Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Basically discusses the team ethic and belief amongst the players and management (NOT the fans). http://eusebio-wesaydie.blogspot.com/2011/08/money-talks-were-tired-of-listening.html
TonyDorigo Posted 20 August 2011 Author Posted 20 August 2011 http://eusebio-wesaydie.blogspot.com/ Incase anyone's interested in any of the other insightful and well put blogs from this young chap. Decent reads on general football, not just Leicester.
TonyDorigo Posted 21 August 2011 Author Posted 21 August 2011 A lot of people viewing but not giving feedback - If you all could genuinely give some feedback i'd appreciate it. I'll be doing a Leicester piece in a few weeks reviewing after about ten/twelve games to see how the team has progressed. (I'm sure it'll be a lot better than it has the past 4 games. I expect top 6 at least by then).
easilee Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Surprised they could write it what with the slit wrists and everything.
sphericalfox Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 http://eusebio-wesaydie.blogspot.com/ Incase anyone's interested in any of the other insightful and well put blogs from this young chap. Decent reads on general football, not just Leicester. Pretending that you have come across the blog, and actually then being the author are two different things. Also my favourite line from that hardly factual piece of fluff, is this: "We could spend all day comparing the lack of class and decency that is within Leicester City, but we'd be trampling across covered territory". On that simple line I'd recommend that nobody bothers to waste their time boosting your 'hits', and the only feedback is don't give up your day job, and when actually writing something, do a bit of actual research into your subject before writing something so contemptuously sad. Are you seeking a career writing for the The Mirror? Your narky and unsubtle style would suit it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 http://eusebio-wesaydie.blogspot.com/ Incase anyone's interested in any of the other insightful and well put blogs from this young chap. Decent reads on general football, not just Leicester. I don't like the writing style at all to be honest. It's completely biased, highly opinionated and makes the reader feel the author has an axe to grind I would suggest a more pleasant, professional tone to any future articles. Also, as a city fan, it's not something I would want to read and actually don't agree with the bulk of it. Now is the time to get behind the team, not be knocking them. Certain people post blogs on this forum which make much better reading

Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Self promotion. If only you could do it in football.
pSinatra Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 An incredible of piece of writing..........for all the wrong reasons!!!!! We don't need telling how it was, or how it is, by someone who clearly has no understanding & little knowledge of Leicester City Football Club. There are a whole load of clubs in England who wouldn't flinch at spending £10m on a single player, nevermind a dozen players. Like most managers, Sven wanted to build a team of his own following the inept reign of 'football enthusiast' Paulo Sousa & his 'beautiful style'. Whilst your article may have been viewed objectively, this only goes to undermine any opinion you may wish to put forward. As a quick fix, he brought in numerous loan signings & they were good for us.......to a point. We needed permanent signings & that is what Sven has done. We may have the financial backing, but then everybody knows that. It is the reason we had to pay what we did for Mills & it is the reason we struggle to buy players for their actual worth. We are linked to every player going, but how much of this is based on actual fact? Because you read it in a newspaper? It has more to do with the unfounded assumption that we have more money than sense. When we are actually interested in someone & make a bid, we are screwed over by clubs who look to take advantage. Our Thai owners have invested considerable amounts of money into our infrastructure & see it more than a real-life game of Football Manager Sven is not alone in wanting to build a team he sees fit for success. If you look around the Championship, you will see exactly the same thing happening at other clubs......& with a not too dissimilar level of investment to that of Leicester. The players we have been linked to, have also been linked with the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Forest. We are not alone!! Nobody knows better than us how dangerous it is to have a few quid in our pocket & that spending millions doesn't guarantee any level of success. Peter Taylor is testament to that. We have learnt from the mistakes of others & we are stronger for it. Unlike yourself, I have spent my whole life suffering the high & lows of being a Leicester City supporter. We are part of an interesting episode in our club's history & I will take great pride in success or failure. Your blog is based on nothing more than the hysteria fuelled by other lazy journalists, half-wit pundits & the narrow-minded. Why not take the time & effort to form an opinion of your own?
TonyDorigo Posted 11 September 2011 Author Posted 11 September 2011 Early stages suggest it was based on the truth rather than bias... Glad to see I was wrong about Kasper though. By all accounts i'm hearing he's done very well and I sincerely hope he keeps it up despite lacking for us. Best move for everyone concerned, it would seem.
accessory Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 As long as Ken Bates is still at Leeds, their fans will NEVER be able to lecture anyone about dignity or class. No wonder so many of their players (not just Kasper) couldn't wait to leave in the summer.
panky and our gang Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 If you were wrong about Kasper what makes you think your right about anything else ? I concur with what has already been said . You come across as a very bitter and with a personal axe to grind. Even an unbiased reader would pick that up . Your reference to the money we have spent is fatuous it is peanuts in footballing terms and again anyone can see that . You should take up writing about politics that seems more like your line of work .
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 "Kasper Schmeichel, son of Peter, is just another in the long list of those using reputation to bring themselves into the team that money bought. A poor season at Leeds was the result of a quick departure from Elland Road, a rival club that Leicester now feel 'above'. And yet, the fact is ignored that he wasn't deemed good enough for that inferior side." Well I think thats a right load of tosh to be honest. I've not looked when it was written. I'm guessing a while ago, but I think he'd be hard pressed to get many people to agree with that statement.

No wonder so many of their players (not just Kasper) couldn't wait to leave in the summer. That player who stated his desire to leave when he found out Grayson wanted him gone? Good'un. Kilkenny and Johnson both asked for contracts as well. Only Gradel 'wanted' to leave.

It's had close to 1000 readers as well (and from the statistics, half of those coming from sites not related to Leicester City), so y'know, decent pool to generate opinions from. Also, how is this money peanuts in the Championship? West Ham aside, who has spent even close to what you have? The likes of Reading, Leeds, Burnley etc have recieved big cash sums for the sales of their players this season. Care to compare your spending to them, your competitors? Feel it's biased all you want, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Don't try to pass off this ridiculous amount of spending as an everday thing in the bloody Championship though, nobody else but the Leicester blue will buy it. And no doubt you'd spend a fair bit on that, too.

And no doubt you'd spend a fair bit on that, too. Peanuts compared to the Prem. All I'll say is that if other clubs had the money that we had At their disposal, they'd be doing the same thing. We're just an easy target, and the jealousy from fans will always lead to them seeing us want to fail. I don't care what other fans think, or say about my club. They'll always be my club, and I'll always love them regardless of what our financial situation is, or what League we're in. During my 23 years, in the space of 7 years I've seen us reach our two lowest points, ever. It's our time for a bit of luck, our time for "a rub of the green" now, and if we have to spend more to get up to where we want to be, then so be it. Our owners are here for the long haul, just like me and 20 odd thousand others will be, regardless of people that want to hate.

Why not just be honest from the outset?

Wozzler Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 i got half way thro reading the 'interesting' blog and felt so angry i had to stop and reply. the blog smacks of bitterness and jealousy. as leicester fans, its not our fault that the club has been taken over buy super rich owners who appear to be putting their heart and soul into getting us out of the championship. i challenge any fan of any club not to be excited and thrilled by the prospect of it happening at their own club. in regards to some of the details of the blog, it says there is nothing left of the pearson era...... im pretty sure richie wellens was a pearson signing and andy king was a regular in his side. as for chris weale, whilst i like him as a player, he is prone to too many errors on a regular basis and i dont think either him or jack hobbs would cut it in the premier league. maybe hobbs in a few years. as for leicester gloating about how much theyve spent on players, from what ive read, theyve always attempted to keep the details of transfer fees under wraps and its other clubs that have spouted. even when theyve put in an unsuccessful bid, others clubs have let slip details of the bid...... take rangers and bristol city for instance. as for arrogantly splashing cash, apart ftom matt mills, most signings have been quite bargainous IMO. im not sure what the motives are for writing the article. All i can think of is jealousy and bitterness despite me being a leicester fan. Gonna read the rest now. Hope it improves!
Wozzler Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 just finished reading it....... if leicester story of this season is a bought story that no one wants to hear, why did you waste your time writing completr nonsensical boll0cks. its mainly all bullsh!t based on your own twisted green-eyed opinion.
Lcfcman2010 Posted 11 September 2011 Posted 11 September 2011 Can't believe i clicked and read that! What a load of old wank tissues. Not a patch on foxblogger/spherical's blogs. Needs to get back to the NOTW oh wait..........
stockyfox Posted 12 September 2011 Posted 12 September 2011 I am somewhat at a loss to understand why this is described as an 'interesting' blog! Words like 'nauseating' and / or 'patronising' come to mind as being possibly more appropriate. May I be so bold as to recommend a really 'interesting' blog which goes under the heading 'Of Fossils & Foxes'. Now in my 68th year, having been a completely biased Leicester City fan for the last 62, I really enjoy reading especially those sections which bring back and revive an infinitessimal bank of memories. Real life memories of the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies that have permeated and influenced my life-style, the highs, the lows, the exhilaration, the despair, the players, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the first floodlit match, the 'Ice-Age Champions. I have my own 'interesting' blog - which is in my head, my collection of programmes and memorabilia, my newspaper cuttings, my 1949 Cup Final 'Sports Mail' and 'Sports Mercury' etc, etc. Now that's what I call an 'interesting' Blog!

Did you really expect people from this site to find you scribblings " interesting " ? If brains were made of rubber you would not have enough to make a pair of flip-flops for a budgie . :scarf: :scarf:
