Transfer deadline looms and you're in dire need of a twenty-a-season man or centre-half to steady the back. You're managing a crap side and nobody wants to come to you. You resort to sticking desperate bids in for anybody who's stats look slightly good. You may end up paying the odds for somebody who's your 10th choice for that problem position. Does Leicester's situation wreak of this a little bit? It worries me that we've been linked with SO MANY different players - some better quality than others. If we do sign anybody today, I hope it's somebody who's been well scouted and researched and not somebody we sign for the sake of it because some agent has sent in a YouTube clip of his client tearing up the pitch against some amateurs. And I hope we don't end up blowing a shedload on somebody who, realistically, wouldn't even be considered in different circumstances. Any thoughts?

davieG Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Panic buying would suggest that names were being dreamt up at the last minute I'm sure anyone that we're genuinely after has been on Sven's list of possibles since the beginning, let's also not forget that we have no proof of which ones are genuine. The transfer window itself forces this situation, we're not the only club making last minute buys, bear in mind also most clubs will not sell until they have replacements this forces everyone into last minute deals.

By who's definition is it credible Also if he's not sure who he might get he would need to enquire about them all to determine on balance who would be the most effective/value for money buy.

Again fair point, but then can we believe anything until it's released officially on the club website? Suppose a lot of the guff comes from players' agents, trying to buoy up prices / wages / etc.
