Head Honcho Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Malky has turned Cowie into quite an accomplished midfielder so any 2nd string nonsense here will see him run the game, hopefully we'll outgun them today and Sunday. Just leaving home now should be in Cardiff in 25 minutes
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 It can't be the actual team, you never hear it until an hour before and Howard will never play. Didn't Sven indicate on the radio that Howard could be playing? Or did I dream that? Kasper Pantsil Mills St Ledger Ball Abe Johnson Oakley Danns Schlupp Howard subs: Weale Bamba Wellens King Dyer Hopper Beckford Oakley is injured I think. Is Ball still injured? I knew he was, but he may have recovered. I can't see too many first team players starting because Sven may not want to give his tactics away for Sunday. Hope we win them both though, come on
vandamman Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Why are people so optimistic by a midweek game, can't see us winning this one!

Fox92 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Just been looking at a Cardiff forum and ... I think Leicester will be surprised by our approach tonight. Bunch of big time charlies!
davieG Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Jeffrey Schlupp has scored four goals in two League Cup games this season for the Foxes. Leicester won the one previous League Cup meeting between these sides 1-0 in South Wales in October 2005. Cardiff have only won three of their last 13 League Cup meetings with teams from the same division. Cardiff and Leicester have each won 22 of the 55 previous matches between these clubs. They have met only once in the League Cup, in 2005, when Leicester won a third-round tie 1-0. The Bluebirds are without a clean sheet in 12 games in this competition, though they have only failed to score in two of their last 14. Cardiff have reached the fourth round only once in the last six seasons. They have scored eight goals in the Carling Cup so far this term. Leicester have also scored eight goals in this year's competition. The Foxes have managed to find the net in 22 consecutive League Cup matches - a run that stretches back to 2003. MikeyT Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2458055,00.html City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson looks set to hand starting berths to both Michael Johnson and Jeff Schlupp in Wednesday night's Carling Cup trip to Cardiff City. The Foxes make the first of two trips to the Welsh capital in four days on Wednesday night, hoping to advance to the League Cup's fourth round for the second successive season, ahead of Sunday's re-run in the league. Sven had earmarked tonight's game as a potential return for Johnson for some time, with the on-loan Manchester City midfielder now fully recovered from a recent knock. After an injury-plagued few years at Eastlands, it is hoped the talented playmaker can rediscover his best form in City blue, having won rave reviews upon his breakthrough at the Etihad Stadium five years ago. Wednesday night's game should also offer another opportunity for 18-year-old Jeff Schlupp to add to his burgeoning reputation - the prodigious striker having hit four goals in the competition already. Michael Johnson Johnson is expected to return to action at Cardiff City. "We will make some changes, but we will still have a very strong team out on Wednesday," Eriksson said ahead of the game. "Michael is fit, he has done everything and performed well in training so he will, almost for sure, start on Wednesday. "He is an all-round midfield player, he can defend, he can attack, he has a good shot and he can pass the ball. If he can reach the level he was at, he can be a great player. "Many thought he would be the next senior player for England because he had everything, so I hope he can get there again. "I think Jeff is a little bit too shy to knock on my door, but he will probably start as well. He has looked very good in training, so he's in very good shape." Jeff Schlupp Schlupp has four goals in the Carling Cup to date. The two trips to south Wales this week will carry plenty of significance for Eriksson's squad. While Wednesday may offer some players a valuable opportunity to impress, Sunday's game represents a big test of the Foxes' recent recovery in the league. Either way, with both teams unbeaten in five league and cup games, victory in both fixtures will be the primary objective, as both the Foxes and the Bluebirds look to build momentum in the campaign. "We need to be more consistent now and we have two big games coming up on Wednesday and Sunday against the same team. We're looking forward to it and I think it's coming at the right time," Eriksson added. "In the last game in the cup I think Cardiff changed nine players, so we'll see how many they change. "Wednesday is important and Sunday is perhaps even more important, so they are two big games."
Bablemikey Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 An injury to Kasper I believe would be a disaster for us so for that reason I would play Weale in goal.
Bugg Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Just been looking at a Cardiff forum and ... I see they are still arrogant cunts like normal. Oh well.
atw88 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Are we? We just love Yann, that's all. You'll probably score, but we're great under Malky. LEADER.
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Are we? We just love Yann, that's all. Do some Cardiff fans still go on about Kermogrant's penalty miss? Why? Its not like you went on to beat Blackpool.
atw88 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Do some Cardiff fans still go on about Kermogrant's penalty miss? Why? Its not like you went on to beat Blackpool. Generally gets brought up when you come to town, the rest of the time it's a distant memory. Why? Becuase it's ****ing funny.
Craig Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I don't think I'll ever forget that night. Comfortably the most emotionally draining match I've been to.
