Fox92 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Its a good move for everyone apart from Leicester City, Hull are a major rival and could well keep us out the play offs with waggys help. It has DJ campbell written all over it or do people think Hull are no danger to us? we are regretting it already. In that case, are you suggesting we should only loan or sell our players to clubs in other divisions? Every team can be a danger if we are in the same league as them. I don't think Waghorn will end up scoring the same amount as Campbell anyway.
hackneyfox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I was, and still am, glad to see the backs of Fryatt, Hobbs, Waghorn and Dudley Judas. I couldn't give a tuppenny fart that one of them has finally managed to score.
B52 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 This site would have to close because of all moaning if we had a draw with Doncaster.....
Corky Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Well we should have finished above Blackpool but we lent then DJ Campbell , the rest is history . What ever is said here about Pearson he was a good manager for us and is more likely to get Hull promoted then Sven will for us . So it seems absolute lunacy to loan out a player who could cost us a promotion place . Jumping Jimmy Jesus have we learned nothing ? We did finish above Blackpool. Campbell had nothing to do with us not going up.
AdamN Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 We did finish above Blackpool. Campbell had nothing to do with us not going up. Yes, but lets not let facts get in the way of a stupid argument, eh?
Bugg Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Oh well. Kermorgant scored last night, can we re-call him for the playoffs etc. etc. etc.
Kent Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I hope he scores plenty so we can try and claw back as much of the 2-3m we spent on him as we can.
accessory Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Been called up to Under 21s again. Not surprising, given the goals he scored for them a few weeks back. Interesting to see how Pearce can apparently motivate him when others could not.
bluesbrothers Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Kermogant has scored as well. See, he was decent.
Thracian Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 It's about time he scored - it was his fourth senior game. It's interesting though that Waghorn bagged 12 goals in 43 games under Pearson and has now scored1 in 4 (limited figures I admit but roughly the same goals ratio). With Sven he scored 4 goals in 32 appearances, a dramatically lower rate. I accept they were probably shorter appearances but the fact remains that clearly Sven didn't get the best out of him I could understand that if our supplementary strikers were thriving. But, while King has had doubtle figure seasons consistently we're really not getting much from anyone else. Yes, it might be argued some of the periphery attackers are more competent than Waghorn in other ways but, bottom line is that you have to score to win games - and sometimes more than once. Leaving it all to the main strikers is folly.
funkyrobot Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 He also has to play AGAINST all our main rivals, West ham, Brighton, Southampton etc hence maybe taking points off them! We should be finishing above the likes of Hull no matter what with our squad so I really don't see the big deal I hope we do finish above hull, but unless there is a significant shift in both teams form (us getting much better and hull getting worse) it is likely that they will be close to us come the shakeup for playoffs and automatic promotion. This will mean all goals that waghorn scores that result in points and/or goals scored for them will help hull in relation to Leicester irrespective of the points they take from other clubs around us. Loans shouldn't be allowed club to club in the same division whether players are likely to come back or not. It's worth noting that when man utd loan out players, and even when it's to teams in their own division ( which I still don't agree with) it's only ever to teams who have no chance of challenging them for the league (e.g. Norwich, Wigan & Blackburn last season). Hull do have a chance of challenging us.

Rustyfox Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 All this talk of Waghorn helping a promotion rival... but what about Tunch guilding Palace up the table
blueredswed Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Not surprising, given the goals he scored for them a few weeks back. Interesting to see how Pearce can apparently motivate him when others could not. perhaps Pierce shall take over Sven job? Witch players is out then...? Let Sven doing his job and be patience wait after christmas when other teams got injurys then we come with our squad :scarf:
tomtom Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Loaning DJ Campbell to blackpool turned out to be a masterstroke as it stopped Forest going up! The reason we didn't go up was because we completely messed up the home leg of the play offs ties
